MNIT Jaipur offers undergraduate engineering and architecture, specialised postgraduate study, sciences, management and doctoral programmes. For applicants considering 2027-28, the latest detailed programme list located is in the institute's 2024-25 Annual Report, while the latest opened entrant fee schedules are for 2026-27. Those dates matter: the course catalogue on the current website omits at least one programme documented in the annual report, and neither 2026-27 fees nor eligibility should be presented as confirmed for 2027-28.
The 2024-25 Annual Report records eight B.Tech programmes: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering. It gives B.Tech an eight-semester structure. B.Arch in Architecture and Planning is listed as a ten-semester course. This is a broader list than MNIT's current Academic Programmes webpage, which still displays seven B.Tech branches and B.Arch. The annual report is the newer evidence for Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering; applicants should still confirm that the programme appears in the 2027-28 seat matrix before ranking choices.
A useful way to choose is to start with the work and subjects you want to engage with, then test whether the branch's curriculum supports that choice. Computer Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering are distinct listed degrees, not interchangeable labels. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is the title in the annual report, while the older academic page calls the undergraduate degree Electrical Engineering. Check the current programme name, course scheme and seat matrix rather than relying on older lists. Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering offer routes anchored in their named engineering disciplines; the source list alone does not establish their specific elective mix, laboratories or career outcomes.
For postgraduate applicants with an engineering or related background, MNIT's academic page lists M.Tech specialisations in areas including Chemical Engineering and Sustainability, Petrochemicals and Polymer Technology, Disaster Assessment and Mitigation, Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Water Resources Engineering; Computer Science and Engineering and Computer Science and Information Security; Renewable Energy; Power Systems, Power Electronics and Drives, and Power Systems Management; Electronics and Communication Engineering, Embedded Systems, VLSI Design, and Wireless and Optical Communication; Design, Industrial, Production and Thermal Engineering; Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Steel Technology; Earthquake Engineering; and Materials Science and Engineering. The annual report describes M.Tech study as four semesters. Because entry qualifications differ by specialisation, a broad degree label is not enough to establish eligibility; consult the relevant CCMT brochure and programme-specific conditions.
Applicants with a science background can consider the four-semester M.Sc awards in Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics and Applied Physics, which are listed on MNIT's academic page and are allocated through CCMN using IIT JAM. An applicant seeking a planning qualification can consider the four-semester Urban Planning postgraduate programme. MNIT's older programme table labels this as M.Plan, while the annual report heading renders the postgraduate architecture award as Master of Architecture and names Urban Planning. Confirm the exact 2027 degree title and eligibility in the cycle notice. The institute also lists a two-year full-time MBA; it is designed for graduates seeking management study rather than a technical specialisation. Ph.D. programmes are listed across departments, but their institute-level selection notices and research requirements make them a different decision from taught-course comparison.
For B.Tech and B.Arch, MNIT directs applicants through JoSAA and CSAB after JEE Main in the same year. The 2026 JoSAA portal identifies the NIT+ seat allocation system and links candidates to CSAB for special rounds. The institute FAQ states that there is no management quota, no lateral entry for diploma or B.Sc. holders into B.Tech/B.Arch, and no internal branch change after first-year admission. These statements describe MNIT's published policy; the 2027 counselling rules and any programme-level subject restrictions must be checked when released.
M.Tech and M.Plan applicants use CCMT, while M.Sc applicants apply through CCMN on the basis of IIT JAM. MNIT directs applicants to the corresponding year's brochure and seat matrix for detailed eligibility and category-wise availability. Do not infer that every engineering degree qualifies for every M.Tech specialisation, or that a JAM subject maps to every M.Sc discipline. Check the programme mapping and minimum marks or degree conditions in the current brochure before paying an application or counselling fee.
For MBA admission, MNIT's Department of Management Studies lists a 2026-27 requirement of a recognised three- or four-year bachelor's degree. The stated minimum is 6.5 CGPA on a ten-point scale, or 60% where CGPA is not awarded; the stated SC/ST relaxation is 6.0 CGPA or 55% on that same basis. Candidates awaiting final results may apply subject to the required documentation. The page accepts a valid CAT, GMAT, XAT, CMAT or MAT score and says the criteria may change annually. For 2027-28, treat these as the last verified criteria, not a promise that they will remain unchanged. The institute page currently lists annual sanctioned intake of 75 with category allocations; an FAQ on that same page gives a different total of 79. Because the page conflicts internally, this article does not use either intake total as a settled current figure. Check the 2027 MBA brochure for the controlling intake and seat matrix.
MNIT's fee page links entrant schedules for 2026-27, and the opened UG and PG PDFs give programme- and category-specific amounts. These are the latest schedules found for this research, not 2027-28 prices. Tuition relief is material for eligible Indian students, but the recurring institute charges and one-time admission items remain, so comparing only tuition can understate the initial payment.
For domestic B.Tech and B.Arch entrants, the 2026-27 schedule lists tuition each semester of ₹62,500 for General/OBC students whose family income is above ₹5 lakh, ₹20,834 for the stated income band of ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh, and nil for the below-₹1-lakh band and SC/ST/PH categories. Institute charges are ₹1,000 registration and ₹18,450 per semester, covering development, library and book bank, computer/internet, sports, student welfare, placement-related, examination, laboratory/project and alumni activity charges. At entry, the listed one-time items are ₹15,000 refundable caution money, ₹100 identity card, ₹1,500 non-refundable degree certificate fee and ₹787.06 annual insurance. The schedule adds ₹1,000 alumni association membership in semester eight.
Using those listed items, the first-semester UG amount is ₹36,837.06 for the above-₹5-lakh band and ₹39,837.06 for the ₹1-lakh-to-₹5-lakh band; for the stated tuition-exempt categories it is ₹19,337.06. A subsequent semester is ₹81,950, ₹40,284, or ₹19,450 respectively before the eighth-semester alumni membership. The first two calculations include tuition; the exempt-category total still includes the institute fee, one-time charges and annual insurance. Income-category classification is based on a certificate issued by the government-designated authority. This calculation follows the schedule's displayed amounts, not an estimate of later fee revisions.
For full-time domestic M.Tech and M.Plan entrants, the 2026-27 PG schedule lists ₹35,000 tuition per semester for General students and nil for SC/ST students. Common recurring institute fees total ₹21,450 per semester. One-time admission items and annual insurance bring the first-semester listed totals to ₹74,837.06 and ₹39,837.06 respectively; later semesters are ₹57,450 and ₹22,450, with a separate ₹1,000 alumni association charge in semester four. M.Sc tuition is ₹7,500 per semester for General/OBC and nil for SC/ST; recurring institute charges total ₹16,450. The corresponding first-semester totals are ₹40,337.06 and ₹33,837.06, followed by ₹23,950 and ₹16,450 in a later semester. MBA tuition is ₹50,000 per semester for GEN/OBC and nil for SC/ST. Its recurring institute fees total ₹19,450 per semester, before admission charges; use the MBA row in the current PG fee PDF for the full amount payable.
These rows are not directly comparable across all programmes unless the category and fee period match. The B.Tech/B.Arch fee exemptions use family income bands for General/OBC and the listed SC/ST/PH group; PG schedules use their own General/OBC or General versus SC/ST columns. The schedules warn that competent authorities may revise fees. They also do not represent full residential costs: MNIT publishes hostel and mess advance separately, and accommodation charges must be added according to the student's allotment and the current notice. The 2026-27 hostel notice does not establish a 2027-28 amount. Review the applicable refund policy and scholarship notices as separate documents; neither is captured by the semester totals above.
Choose first by academic fit and eligibility route, then compare the applicable fee row for your category and programme. For a school-leaver, the central choice is among the eight reported B.Tech fields and the five-year B.Arch, subject to the JEE Main and seat-allocation rules in force for that intake. For a graduate, distinguish a technical M.Tech specialisation from science M.Sc, Urban Planning and the institute-level MBA; each uses a different selection route and fee schedule. As of 1 November 2026, MNIT's reviewed documents do not establish 2027-28 course eligibility, counselling dates, seat availability or fees. Before choice filling, verify the 2027 JoSAA/CSAB or CCMT/CCMN materials, the exact current programme list, and MNIT's new entrant fee and hostel notices.
