National Institute of Technology, Warangal · Institute code 228. These official JEE Main Paper 1 rank-based records are a separate source from any historical database records on this page. Each row is one exact seat profile, not a single college-wide cutoff.
Showing 24 OPEN, gender-neutral profiles, selected across programme labels and quotas. The full source has 339 published profiles across 17 programme labels, including all recorded seat types, quotas and gender pools. Use the institute explorer to check the profile that applies to you. It shows up to 100 matches at a time; narrow by programme, seat type, quota or gender pool to see further matches.
Computer Science and Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)
OS quota · Gender-neutral · Non-PwD · Round 5. This is one published reference programme and quota, not a college-wide cutoff or a branch recommendation.
Compare like-for-like rank lists: OPEN uses CRL; category and PwD ranks in the full explorer are separate lists. HS/OS use JoSAA's Class XII state code rules, not simply residential domicile.
Paper 1 programmes include engineering and integrated science/design. CSAB, B.Arch and B.Planning are excluded. Round history retains this exact programme, quota, seat type and gender pool across Rounds 1-5; an unreported round is not replaced with zero.
A marked programme label maps to more than one official programme code. Its history follows the exact published label and seat profile; it does not infer a unique programme code.

For NIT Warangal B.Tech admissions, a “cutoff” usually means a JoSAA opening or closing rank for a specific seat-allocation round. It is a historical boundary from that allotment, not a fixed score that guarantees a seat in the next cycle. A useful comparison needs the exact programme, counselling year, round, quota, seat category, gender pool and rank type. If one of those labels differs, the numbers may not describe comparable seats.
The official JoSAA portal currently exposes an Opening and Closing Ranks 2026 page for its 2026-27 admission cycle. Its lookup interface asks for round, institute type, institute name, academic programme and seat type/category. JoSAA also states that OPEN-seat ranks are Common Rank List (CRL), EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST ranks use the respective category rank, and PwD ranks are within the respective categories. These are not interchangeable numbers. A category rank of a given value cannot be compared directly with the same numeric CRL.
The rank table is interactive and may not show any institute data until all required fields are selected. In the version checked on 28 October 2026, the public page displayed the filters and the rank-basis note but did not expose a static, preselected NIT Warangal row. This page therefore does not quote a numeric opening or closing rank without a reproducible programme-and-seat query. Use the official filter rather than an unsourced screenshot, a search-result snippet or a single aggregated “NIT Warangal cutoff” figure.
Opening and closing ranks describe the range of ranks that received an allotment for a particular programme and seat pool in a particular round. They are useful for seeing how a row moved during the cycle, but they are not the same as JEE Main eligibility. NIT Warangal’s admissions guidance describes B.Tech admission as JEE Main followed by JoSAA or CSAB counselling. A candidate must qualify under the applicable examination and counselling rules, enter preferences and receive an allotment; merely matching an old closing rank does not create an entitlement to a seat.
Read category labels literally. An OPEN row is not a substitute for a candidate’s reserved-seat category rank, and an EWS or OBC-NCL row requires the correct valid certificate and category treatment under the current rules. JoSAA’s rank note says that open-seat ranks are CRL, while the listed reserved categories use their respective category rank. PwD ranks are also relative to the respective category. If a rank is marked with a “P” suffix, JoSAA says that it comes from a preparatory rank list. Do not silently strip that suffix or treat it as a standard CRL.
Quota and gender pool matter too. An institute can have separate Home State and Other State seat pools, while female-only seats form a separate pool from gender-neutral seats. A closing rank from one pool may be materially different from another, even for the same programme and round. Make sure you are reading the row for the candidate’s applicable pool, not just the programme name. Where a row or archived table omits a label you need, consult the current JoSAA business rules and seat matrix before interpreting it.
For the next admission season, 2026-27 JoSAA rows are the latest cycle visible in the official rank lookup as checked here. They can help you build a tentative choice list, but NIT Warangal has not been assigned a numerical 2027-28 cutoff by this page. Future seat intake, applicant ranks, preferences, category composition, round rules and withdrawals can change the result. Avoid treating one branch’s last-round closing rank as a guaranteed target for a future applicant.
A practical method is to gather the same programme’s row from several available years and examine how the closing rank shifts across years and rounds. Keep the quota, category, gender pool and rank basis constant. If a candidate’s rank falls near the observed range, include that option but also list choices with wider historical margins and alternatives the candidate would genuinely accept. A stronger historical rank is not a promise, and a weaker comparison does not mean applying is pointless; it is a way to manage uncertainty in choice filling.
Finally, keep the admission cutoff separate from institute eligibility rules. JoSAA publishes allotment results and opening/closing ranks after each round; the institute’s programme notices and JoSAA business rules govern eligibility, certificates, special restrictions and reporting. Use the 2026 result page to understand the past cycle, the current seat matrix and business rules for eligibility, and NIT Warangal’s admissions page for institute-specific reporting instructions. Before locking choices, confirm that each selected row matches the programme, category, quota and gender pool you intend to use.
CRL and category ranks are different lists; do not compare their numbers as one scale. Only recorded categories are shown. An absent row does not mean a zero cutoff or establish eligibility.
