NIT Warangal does not publish one universal price for every student. The amount due depends on programme, admission route, category and the fee component being discussed. The official admissions material separates tuition from other institutional charges, and the hostel schedule is a separate first-semester bill. A figure labelled “total” in one table can therefore mean the amount collected at admission, not the annual cost or the complete cost of a four- or five-year degree.
The latest clearly dated programme fee schedule in the sources reviewed is the B.Sc.-B.Ed. brochure for AY 2026-27. For the odd semester, it lists ₹45,000 tuition plus ₹42,500 other fees for OPEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL candidates, a total of ₹87,500. The same brochure lists ₹42,500 for SC/ST/PwD students, ₹42,500 for OPEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL students with family income below ₹1 lakh, and ₹57,500 for the ₹1-5 lakh income band. These amounts are for the stated programme and the 2026-27 odd semester; they are not a fee quotation for B.Tech or the next admission cycle. The brochure also shows that the ₹42,500 “other fee” includes ₹30,000 paid once at admission and ₹12,500 listed as payable per year. That split matters if you are comparing the first bill with a later semester.
NIT Warangal’s online UG admissions table reports first-semester tuition of ₹62,500 plus ₹42,500 other fees for OPEN/EWS/OBC candidates, giving ₹1,05,000. Its SC/ST/PwD row shows tuition of ₹0 and other fees of ₹42,500. The Integrated M.Sc. row shows ₹20,000 tuition and ₹42,500 other fees, a first-semester total of ₹62,500; the B.Sc.-B.Ed. schedule is a separate published document with its own income bands. The UG table’s page does not clearly identify the academic year in the excerpt available, so treat these as posted institute figures to verify against the exact admission notice, not as a confirmed 2027-28 price.
The same UG page explains why the refund columns deserve a close read. It distinguishes cancellation before physical reporting, failure to report, cancellation after reporting, institute cancellation for unmet minimum eligibility, and cancellation after registration or commencement. In the OPEN/EWS/OBC example, the page says the tuition is not refunded after physical reporting and only ₹3,000 of other fees is refundable in that stated case; another row indicates a refund when the institute cancels the seat for failure to meet minimum eligibility. These are conditional rules in the table, not a general promise that every amount is refundable. Check the operative notice and your admission route before paying.
The institute’s current online reporting instructions list several postgraduate admission collections but do not show a clearly labelled academic-year heading alongside this table. For regular M.Tech through CCMT, the listed total is ₹77,500 for OPEN/EWS/OBC, shown as ₹35,000 tuition plus ₹42,500 other fees; the SC/ST/PwD amount is ₹42,500, with no tuition in that row. M.Tech self-finance is listed at ₹1,02,500, composed of ₹60,000 tuition and ₹42,500 other charges. The same page lists ₹57,500 for M.Sc. through CCMN, ₹77,500 for MBA and MCA through NIMCET, and ₹57,500 for the five-year Integrated M.Sc. These are the institute’s posted collections, not verified annual or whole-course totals; confirm the applicable year and programme invoice before using them for a multi-year budget.
Refunds also vary by admission stage. The reporting instructions state that a ₹5,000 deduction applies in the listed M.Tech CCMT and MBA cases when a candidate cancels before physical reporting. The table marks no refund after physical reporting in several routes and lists specific limited refunds of other charges in some institute-cancelled cases. Do not assume that the refund rule for one channel applies to another channel or to an international admission route. Save the relevant notice and payment receipt, and follow the exact cancellation instructions for your allotment.
The institute’s hostel schedule lists first-year UG double occupancy at ₹43,000 for a semester and triple/four occupancy at ₹42,000. The components are a ₹15,000 caution deposit, maintenance, seat rent, water and electricity, and a ₹12,000 mess advance. The mess amount is an advance against monthly bills, not an estimate of a full semester’s food cost. In the 2026-27 B.Sc.-B.Ed. brochure, the odd-semester hostel amounts are also ₹43,000 for double occupancy and ₹42,000 for triple/four occupancy; that schedule provides a dated confirmation for those students specifically.
The PG and research-scholar hostel table lists ₹43,000 for first-year PG double occupancy and ₹46,000 for research scholars in single rooms. Since the online reporting page does not attach a clear cycle label to this schedule, verify the current allotment notice for room type, deposit treatment and any updated charge before planning. Hostel eligibility or room availability is separate from tuition, and a fully residential policy does not make the hostel bill part of the tuition figure.
For UG B.Tech and B.Sc.-B.Ed. students, NIT Warangal’s revised guidelines effective from 2025-26 cover eligible General, EWS and OBC candidates admitted through JoSAA/CSAB and ITEP, excluding the five-year Integrated M.Sc. The policy sets family-income bands below ₹1 lakh and ₹1-5 lakh. Students first pay tuition at admission or registration, then eligible students apply through the institute’s ERP process with documents; approved remission is processed as a refund after scrutiny. Do not deduct a possible remission from the amount due upfront. A separate 2026-27 notice listed a tuition-remission deadline of 20 September 2026, which had passed by the time this page was checked; the underlying 2025-26 guidelines should not be treated as proof of the 2026-27 application being open or of unchanged terms.
Before accepting a seat, make a programme-specific worksheet with the confirmed semester tuition, one-time and recurring other fees, hostel deposit and mess advance, counselling or application charges, and any remission you may later qualify to apply for. Ask the Academic Section or the programme admissions contact to confirm ambiguous amounts in writing. Keep the fee table’s year and route beside every number: a 2026-27 odd-semester B.Sc.-B.Ed. bill, an undated online UG table and a PG reporting collection are different evidence, not components that can safely be combined into a single “annual fee.”
