Company Secretary course fees: ICSI registration and examination costs
There is no single all-inclusive price for completing the Company Secretary qualification. ICSI fees vary by entry route, stage, examination session and student category. Coaching is optional and depends on provider, subjects and delivery. Training, printed material, optional subscriptions, late fees and future revisions can add separate costs. The figures below are dated official examples from the ICSI schedule effective 15 April 2026; check the current fee page before payment. ICSI Fee Schedule, ICSI Fee Structure page.
CSEET registration and examination
The April 2026 schedule lists ₹7,500 at CSEET registration, inclusive of the Student Induction Programme and online classes, and a separate ₹1,500 examination fee per session. The fee schedule identifies concessions for certain categories. A concession applies only if a candidate qualifies and provides the required proof; confirm the amount displayed in the portal instead of subtracting an assumed discount. ICSI Fee Schedule.
Registration and exam enrolment are separate actions. Paying the registration fee does not cover every later examination attempt. The examination charge is per session, so a retake can mean another fee. The schedule is tied to the revised CSEET structure and its effective date. A candidate with a previous registration, exemption or later exam session should check the current notice and personal student ledger.
Executive registration varies by route
The same schedule itemizes Executive registration for CSEET/Foundation and direct-admission students. For the CSEET/Foundation columns, it lists registration ₹2,000, education ₹12,900, pre-examination test ₹1,000, three-day orientation ₹2,500, plus an optional one-year journal subscription ₹500. The displayed total is ₹18,900. The direct-admission column adds a ₹5,000 CSEET-exemption fee and lists ₹23,900. Since the journal is optional and concessions may apply, read every line rather than treating the total as universal. ICSI Fee Schedule effective 15 April 2026.
The portal determines which direct-entry category applies. If ICSI classifies a candidate differently than expected, the amount may change. Ask for clarification before paying an exemption fee. These totals do not include private tuition, travel, devices or a candidate’s full time cost.
Professional registration and exam-group fees
The official schedule lists Professional Programme education fee of ₹19,000 plus ₹1,000 pre-examination test fee, totaling ₹20,000 after passing Executive. Examination enrolment is separate: the schedule lists Executive at ₹1,500 per group and Professional at ₹1,800 per group, with late submission and change charges in separate rows. Re-registration, continuation, de-novo registration, paper exemptions and overseas-centre surcharges are also separate. Check the current schedule and eligibility before budgeting for these services. ICSI Fee Schedule.
For a personal plan, estimate only the groups or sessions the student expects to attempt and treat reattempts as a scenario, not a national average. A late fee should be included only if relevant. Professional registration begins after Executive requirements; it is not a single fee paid once for the entire qualification.
Coaching, materials and training costs
Students can use ICSI study resources, online classes, regional or chapter support, private coaching or self-study. Coaching is optional, and provider prices differ by subject, group, live versus recorded format, access period, doubt support, test series and refund terms. Ask whether the quote includes all papers, materials, taxes and updates. Compare the syllabus version and amendment support, not only the headline amount.
Printed textbooks, reference materials and optional subscriptions may be charged separately. ICSI updates study material and supplements; older books can require replacement or leave amendments uncovered. Include any prescribed induction, orientation, travel or training-related costs that are not part of the listed registration total. A candidate with exemption or recognized prior training may have different requirements, but must have the credit formally approved.
Make a candidate-specific budget
Build separate rows for CSEET registration if applicable; each CSEET examination; Executive registration; Executive examination groups; Professional registration; Professional examination groups; prescribed induction or training; study materials; optional coaching; and possible reattempt or service charges. Record each figure’s source date and route. This keeps a dated fee chart from becoming a false promise about future total cost.
The ICSI schedule effective 15 April 2026 is a point-in-time example, not a 2027 quote. Some candidates qualify for concessions; others enter directly or receive formally recorded exemptions. There is no universal “total CS course fee” in this article. Confirm categories, concessions and the payment receipt in ICSI’s official portal. Neither coaching fees nor employment outcomes are part of the Institute’s registration schedule.
Read the fee receipt carefully
Before submitting payment, compare each portal line with the official fee schedule and the candidate’s route. Check whether the amount covers registration, an exemption, an examination session, study material, induction, orientation or an optional subscription. Save the receipt with its date and purpose. If the amount differs from an old PDF or another student’s payment, ask ICSI to explain the current applicable category rather than paying twice or assuming the discrepancy is an error.
