There is no common MBA-HR entrance route
The awarding institution sets its admission route. A specialised MBA-HR might accept multiple national tests, use a common process with other management programmes, or run its own test and interview. Read the current bulletin for the exact campus and award. Check whether there are two registrations: one for the exam and another for the programme. A score can be valid for the exam but still need to be sent or selected in the institution’s form.
XIM University MBA-HRM 2027 example
XIM’s page lists XAT, CAT, GMAT, NMAT and XGMT as test options for MBA-HRM 2027, with at least one required. It describes test-based shortlisting followed by possible group discussion, written ability test and personal interview; final selection also considers academic records and relevant work experience. XAT/CAT/NMAT/GMAT registration is separate. The page gives 15 December 2026 as the application deadline and states that XGMT applicants choose the test in the institutional form.
The same page pairs the future deadline with internally inconsistent portal instructions. Those instructions do not establish whether submissions are currently accepted. Confirm directly with the programme office or the live application form before paying; treat the published date as a deadline, not proof of present availability.
IIM Ranchi MBA-HR 2026-28 example
IIM Ranchi’s policy for its 2026-28 MBA-HRM batch used CAT, a profile score and a personal interview in the final consolidated merit list, weighted 65%, 20% and 15% respectively. It also specified limited bonus marks for gender diversity and a particular full-time work-experience range. Its May 2026 announcement records an offer list and payment deadline for that cohort. This is useful for understanding one selection design, but that intake has passed and its formula must not be carried forward to a later batch.
For any current application, save the bulletin, test confirmation, submitted application, interview call and offer letter. A shortlist is not an admission offer. Verify the acceptance amount, payment deadline, document checks, refund policy and conditions attached to provisional offers.
Application checklist
- Confirm the exact MBA-HR programme, award and admission year.
- Compare degree and marks eligibility against your records.
- Register separately for each required entrance test and note score validity.
- Complete the institutional application, selecting the correct test and programme code.
- Upload marksheets, identity, category or experience records and any required statement of purpose.
- Track correction windows, shortlisting, interviews, result notices and offer expiry.
- Before paying, confirm total first instalment, withdrawal terms and required original documents.
This is a practical sequence, not a claim that every institution uses the same stages. Use only the official portal and keep receipts and email confirmations.
