UGC-NET December 2026 admit-card status
The December 2026 Information Bulletin schedules admit-card download for 7 December 2026 through the official NTA UGC-NET portal. As of 28 October, this is a future date stated in the bulletin, not confirmation that a card has already been released. Check the portal and NTA notices for an announcement or revised date. NTA says the admit card is downloaded online and is not sent by post.
The city-intimation slip and admit card are different documents. City information is scheduled for 23 November in the December 2026 bulletin. It supports travel planning, but the admit card controls the individual examination centre, subject, date, shift and timing. Do not book a non-refundable trip based only on the general exam window or an earlier session’s schedule.
Who can download a card
The bulletin says NTA issues the e-admit card provisionally, subject to the candidate meeting eligibility conditions and NTA receiving the prescribed fee. An application that is incomplete, has doubtful or indistinct photographs or signatures, or fails eligibility conditions may not receive an admit card. Card issuance is not final acceptance of eligibility; NTA or an admitting institution may scrutinise eligibility later.
Use the official UGC-NET portal linked by NTA and sign in with your application credentials. Download and print the e-admit card as soon as it becomes available, then save a digital copy in a secure place. The bulletin says no duplicate card is issued at the examination centre. Do not rely on an unofficial site, agent or forwarded PDF for the card.
Check the details before exam day
Compare the admit card with your confirmation page and application record. Verify your name and photograph, subject, centre address, examination date, shift, reporting time and any instructions specific to the centre. Read the instructions printed on the card rather than relying on an old checklist. If there is a discrepancy in personal particulars, photo or signature, the bulletin directs candidates to contact the NTA help line immediately. It says candidates should appear with the already downloaded card while NTA takes necessary action to correct the record later. Keep a record of your support request.
If you cannot download the card, the December 2026 bulletin lists the NTA helpline as 011-40759000 / 69227700, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., or the email [email protected]. Check the live NTA page for the current support route before contacting them. Avoid sending personal documents through an unverified contact channel.
What to carry and when to report
The December 2026 bulletin requires the printed admit card and an authorised photo ID for entry. The centre staff may verify identity; a candidate without a valid card and authorised photo ID is not permitted to take the exam. Report at the centre well in advance: the bulletin advises arriving two hours before commencement and says gates close 30 minutes before the scheduled start. The individual admit-card time governs. A late arrival is not rescued by the fact that the overall examination window spans several dates.
The bulletin prohibits items including printed or written material, calculators, phones, watches, Bluetooth devices, bags and other electronic or metallic items. It says no storage arrangement will be made for personal belongings. Water in a transparent bottle is allowed, and candidates with diabetes may carry sugar tablets or whole fruit as described in the bulletin. Candidates wearing articles of faith or customary dress should report at least two hours early so screening can be completed. Check the complete current dress code and barred-item section before travelling; this summary is not a substitute for the card instructions.
PwD/PwBD candidates who requested a scribe or compensatory time should check the card and NTA’s recorded accommodation details before the exam. If an application’s disability status or requested support was not recorded correctly, contact NTA promptly using the official help route. Do not assume the centre can change an allocation on exam day.
Quick download checklist

- Sign in only through the official UGC-NET portal and download the PDF.
- Compare identity, subject, centre, date, shift and timing with your application and city information.
- If details conflict or the download fails, contact the NTA helpline/email listed in the bulletin and keep the downloaded card while seeking correction.
- Print the card, carry the required photo ID, read the barred-items and reporting instructions, and arrive before the gate closes.
