UGC-NET December 2026 dates at a glance
The latest date-specific source in this packet is the NTA Information Bulletin for UGC-NET December 2026. Its first schedule was later amended by an NTA notice dated 27 October 2026. As of 28 October, application and examination-fee transactions close on 31 October 2026 at 11:50 p.m. IST under that notice. The application window has not been extended into November; the 2–4 November window is for corrections to submitted particulars. Use the official UGC-NET portal and the NTA notice board for any further update.
The first five event dates above are cycle-specific. The bulletin says candidate exam centre, date and shift are as shown on the admit card. It gives no subject-by-subject date allocation in the overview schedule. A six-day test period therefore does not mean every subject is held on each day; candidates should wait for the official allocation.
What changed after the bulletin
The December 2026 bulletin originally set 28 October 2026, 11:50 p.m. as the application submission and examination-fee transaction deadline. The 27 October public notice extended both to 31 October at the same time. It supersedes only the deadline details it changes; the NTA source packet records the notice as leaving other bulletin terms unchanged. The NTA notice PDF was not directly accessible in a new browser open during this writing run, so the exact revised dates are bound to the official notice entry and PDF URL already inspected in the saved source packet. Check the linked notice itself if the live page changes.
The bulletin’s original calendar listed a ₹500 late-submission fee for 29–31 October. The 27 October NTA notice extended the application and fee deadline through 31 October without a late fee, so that cycle-specific notice supersedes the bulletin’s initial late-fee schedule for the extension period. The base fees in the bulletin are ₹1,150 for General/Unreserved, ₹600 for General-EWS and OBC-NCL, and ₹325 for SC, ST, Third Gender, PwD and PwBD candidates. Payment-gateway service charges and GST are additional. These are 2026 amounts, not a future-cycle estimate.
Keep application, exam and result windows separate
NTA requires the application form and payment steps to be complete for the submission to count. Save the confirmation page after payment and monitor the candidate portal and registered contact details. If your details are wrong, the correction window is distinct from the extended registration period. The bulletin warns that information such as category, date of birth, exam-city choices and educational details will be treated as final after correction closes, subject to only the fields NTA permits. Do not wait until the last evening to find a payment or document problem.
City intimation and admit card serve different purposes. City intimation is an advance indication for travel planning; the admit card identifies the examination centre and the individual date, shift and timing. For a discrepancy on the card, the bulletin directs candidates to contact the NTA helpline immediately; candidates should appear with the already downloaded card while NTA takes up the correction. Keep the final card and approved photo ID together for the centre.
The provisional answer-key challenge schedule and result date remain unannounced in the December 2026 bulletin. After the examination, NTA says it will publish recorded responses and provisional keys for a limited period, likely two to three days, and later declare the result. The challenge process requires a non-refundable ₹200 processing fee per question and must use the prescribed link before the stated deadline. The final key is used to compile results, and the bulletin says no answer-key grievance is entertained after result declaration. These are process rules; they do not provide an answer-key or result date.
What to track next
For an applicant completing registration now, the practical sequence is: finish the form and fee transaction by 31 October 2026 at 11:50 p.m.; revisit and correct permitted details from 2 to 4 November; check the NTA site for the city notice on 23 November; then download the admit card when the bulletin’s 7 December date arrives or any later notice revises it. Before travelling, follow the admit card rather than the general schedule. After the test, check NTA notices for response-sheet and answer-key windows, then the result announcement.
No 2027 UGC-NET schedule is established by these dates. A future application window, fee, correction period, exam timetable, answer-key period and result date must come from that cycle’s own NTA bulletin or a later official amendment. This page retains December 2026 dates as historical/current-cycle source facts and does not roll them forward.
