2027 schedule status
As of 27 October 2026, the official JEE (Advanced) pages reviewed for this guide publish the 2026 cycle, not a 2027 calendar. No 2027 registration opening, deadline, exam date, admit-card window, answer-key date or result date is confirmed in those sources. Do not put a date copied from a coaching calendar into your personal “confirmed” column. Check the official JEE (Advanced) important-dates page and homepage announcements for the next cycle; JEE (Main) dates come from NTA, and JoSAA publishes its own counselling calendar.
For planning only, the 2026 sequence below shows how the process was ordered. It is a completed prior cycle, not a forecast. The practical lesson is to track each deadline by responsible authority: Main qualification precedes Advanced registration for the usual Indian-national route; Advanced registration and fee payment have separate steps; the exam precedes response-sheet and key review; and JoSAA starts after Advanced results.
JEE (Advanced) 2026 dates, with the later correction noted
The 2026 brochure and important-dates page gave this original calendar. The official homepage later posted an extension to the registration deadline, so the live notice takes precedence over the original closing date for that one event.
The original closing date and revised deadline are not contradictory once the notice sequence is preserved: the brochure first set 2 May, and the official homepage later announced an extension to 5 May. A saved PDF cannot capture a later operational change. For any future cycle, treat the live official notice as the current deadline and save a copy or screenshot for your own records.
The 2026 brochure schedule listed the foreign-candidate registration start earlier than the Main-qualified registration start. The two routes should not be collapsed into one opening date. Likewise, a registration deadline is not the same event as the last date to pay the fee, the examination day or the JoSAA start. In 2026, those appeared as separate milestones. The homepage said registration was incomplete until payment; therefore, a candidate should aim to finish both form and payment before the portal closes, rather than interpret the fee date as extra time to begin the application.
Build a dependency-aware 2027 calendar
For a 2027 applicant, the first dated item to watch is the JEE (Main) 2027 notification and result from NTA. Indian nationals and OCI/PIO (I) candidates ordinarily need to take JEE (Main) and fall within the Advanced shortlist before registering for Advanced. Foreign nationals and OCI/PIO (F) candidates may have a direct-registration route under the 2026 rules, but should verify the 2027 brochure’s definitions and conditions. Because Advanced registration has a limited window, check that your contact details, category documents and identity records are ready before it opens.
When the 2027 dates are published, record at least four distinct deadlines: the form closing time; the fee-payment cut-off; the admit-card availability period; and the exam session times. Add the response-sheet release, provisional key and objection window, final key and result, and the start of JoSAA choice filling. If you seek B.Arch., add the separate AAT registration, test and result dates. Use IST as printed by the authorities and retain the time, not just the calendar date: the 2026 feedback window closed at 17:00, while the result and registration milestones often opened at 10:00.
Also maintain an authority column. NTA controls JEE (Main) information; the JEE (Advanced) organising IIT/JAB controls Advanced notices; JoSAA controls joint seat allocation; and AAT dates are published on the Advanced portal. A change on one authority’s page does not automatically revise another authority’s deadline. This helps avoid the common mistake of assuming that a later JoSAA round or AAT date extends Advanced registration.
For each deadline, note its status as announced, revised, tentative or not yet announced. In 2026, the JoSAA start was explicitly labelled tentative on the Advanced schedule, while the exam date and result time appeared as scheduled events. “Tentative” should remain visible until JoSAA confirms its own calendar. The 2027 JoSAA dates should not be estimated from the 2026 gap between result and counselling.
What a candidate should do next
Until the official 2027 calendar appears, use the earlier sequence only to plan readiness, not to book travel or treat an expected registration window as a deadline. Check the JEE (Advanced) homepage and important-dates page, read the 2027 information brochure when published, and cross-check every revised announcement. Keep a reminder to revisit the page after the JEE (Main) 2027 result because that result controls the next step for most candidates.
Once registration opens, apply early enough to resolve upload or payment problems. The 2026 homepage maintained a registration-issues route and posted video guidance, which can help identify the official support channel in the next cycle. After payment, verify that the application status reflects completed registration. Before the examination, download the admit card during its stated window, check the examination city and centre address, and arrange travel with enough time to arrive. Do not assume a downloaded copy will remain available after the listed window.
After the papers, follow the official release order: response copy, provisional answer key, a short feedback period, final key and result. The objection/feedback window is time-sensitive; if you plan to raise an issue, read the 2027 instructions on evidence, fee if any, and submission format rather than relying on a previous-year process. When results arrive, separately check your rank and whether you are eligible for JoSAA. A rank does not itself complete counselling. Register and fill choices by JoSAA’s schedule, and watch seat-allocation and acceptance deadlines in that portal. Candidates targeting architecture should apply for AAT in its own window.
FAQs
Are JEE (Advanced) 2027 dates announced?
The official pages reviewed for this guide showed the 2026 schedule. They did not publish a 2027 registration window, exam date or result date as of 27 October 2026. Check the live important-dates page and homepage announcements for updates.
Which 2026 registration deadline should I use, 2 May or 5 May?
The 2026 brochure and schedule initially listed 2 May at 23:59 IST. A later JEE (Advanced) homepage notice extended registration through 5 May at 23:59 IST. The later official notice revised the deadline. The fee-payment date in the original brochure was listed separately as 4 May; the extension notice asked candidates to complete registration including payment, so applicants should have followed the portal’s current instructions.
Is the JoSAA date part of the JEE (Advanced) exam schedule?
The Advanced page listed a tentative JoSAA start, but JoSAA publishes its own business rules and schedule. Use the JoSAA portal for counselling deadlines, choice filling, allotment, acceptance and reporting.
Does the admit-card date mean the exam date?
No. In 2026 the download window began on 11 May and the two papers were held on 17 May. Check both the download period and the paper timings in the active cycle’s notice.
