Registration status and cycle
KEA’s UGCET-2026 Bulletin-1 describes an online application-cum-verification process for the 2026-27 admission cycle. The bulletin’s original calendar opened registration and online application at 11:00 am on 17 January 2026, set 16 February at 11:59 pm as the form deadline, and 18 February as the fee-payment deadline. Those dates have passed. The bulletin does not announce a 2027-28 registration window or fee. Candidates planning for the next cycle should wait for the new KEA bulletin and use its current online application link and any later extension notice.
The application is common to several KEA-administered professional-course routes. Engineering candidates select the applicable KCET subjects; candidates seeking architecture or NEET-based medical, dental and AYUSH admission also had to register in KEA and complete the common application and fee steps to participate in KEA counselling. The external test route remains separate: NATA is the architecture entrance route and NEET-UG is the medical route. The application does not convert either score into a KCET engineering rank. Some programmes use their own subject combinations or qualifying-examination basis, so identify every course being applied for before completing the form.
What to prepare before opening the form
Keep the candidate’s own working mobile number and email address available. The bulletin says KEA sends an OTP to the registered mobile number and uses the provided mobile and email for urgent communication; it says one mobile number should be used for one application. Use contact details the candidate can continue to access and check them regularly after submission.
Before entering personal data, compare the name on the SSLC marks card with Aadhaar and with any caste or caste-income certificate. The bulletin calls out name consistency and asks candidates to correct a mismatch before proceeding. Keep SSLC/10th and 2nd PUC/12th records, study details and relevant certificates ready. Depending on the claimed clause and benefits, the application may use SATS information for schooling and RD numbers for caste, income, Kalyana Karnataka or Non-Creamy Layer records. If SATS study data is unavailable, a study certificate in the prescribed form may be required. Rural, Kannada-medium, minority, special-category and regional claims each have their own proof conditions; do not select a benefit merely because a certificate is available.
Complete and verify the application
KEA describes the application as an application-cum-verification module. After the candidate verifies the mobile OTP, enter the requested identity, contact, qualifying-examination and course information carefully. Select the course route and entrance subjects that match the intended programme. Enter the correct eligibility clause, category and certificate reference details only when the candidate satisfies the relevant rule. Study information may be checked through SATS, while certificate claims may be checked against Revenue Department data using RD numbers.
The verification route is not identical for every claim. Under the 2026 bulletin, some candidates initially received a claim slip showing statuses such as “Claimed & Verified,” “Claimed but Not Verified” or “Not Claimed,” and needed the prescribed original-document verification before printing the full application. Candidates whose clause-a study details were successfully matched could receive a successful verification status through the portal. Candidates under other clauses had to follow KEA’s specific verification schedule and instructions. Use the candidate portal and claim certificate to determine what remains outstanding; do not assume a submitted form means all eligibility claims are verified.
The 2026 bulletin allowed a correction provision, if offered, only for fee-paid candidates and said candidates could modify information only as per their eligibility. It also warned that KEA does not itself edit or alter candidate-entered details. Treat corrections as a limited window, not a substitute for careful first entry. The exact corrections permitted and their dates must come from a cycle-specific KEA notice. The bulletin states that application fees were non-refundable in the 2026 process.
Payment, submission and records
Submit the form and complete payment by the applicable deadline shown in the current notice. The 2026 calendar gave separate cutoffs for form submission and online payment, so a saved form was not proof that the fee had been paid. After paying, check the portal for a successful payment or submission status and retain the acknowledgement. The 2026 bulletin asks candidates to keep at least three printouts of the finally submitted application, proof of fee payment and two or three copies of the same photograph uploaded with the form. Keep the candidate’s login credentials secure and preserve the application number, password instructions and later portal documents.
If payment appears pending, details do not match a certificate, a claim remains unverified or the application cannot be printed, follow the current portal instructions and contact KEA within the announced window. Save the error or status details and payment reference for support. Do not create a second application with another candidate’s or family member’s mobile number unless KEA explicitly directs that step. For an unresolved eligibility question, the 2026 bulletin says the governing Karnataka admission rules and government orders prevail over a summary in the bulletin.
After registration
Registration is only the first administrative step. Follow the ticket-release notice, download the admission ticket from the candidate portal when available and verify the examination details. After the exam, confirm that qualifying-examination marks and claims have been recorded correctly; the bulletin warns that missing qualifying marks can affect rank publication. Candidates using NEET or NATA should also complete the separate test requirements. When KEA opens counselling, a verification slip is required to enter options. Keep the application, fee proof, certificates and admission ticket until the admission process is complete.
For a future cycle, repeat this process from the new official bulletin rather than reusing old dates, fee amounts or screenshots. KEA may change its portal, required documents, verification method, corrections, payment options or deadlines. The 2026 instructions explain the process that cycle used; they are not a guarantee that the 2027-28 application will be identical.
