Which KCET syllabus is verified?
KEA’s four subject documents are explicitly titled CET 2026 and set out Class XI and Class XII theory content for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. For this page’s 2026-27 content cycle, these are the latest cycle-specific topic documents read in this review. They are not an announcement of a separate KCET 2027 syllabus. If you are planning for a later exam cycle, check KEA’s official UGCET page again before treating these topics as current.
Each PDF gives a total of 160 teaching periods for each class in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and 180 periods for each class in Mathematics. Those are curriculum allocations, not KCET marks, question counts or chapter weightage. KEA has not published topic-wise KCET question weightage in these documents, so do not use the period totals to predict how many questions will come from a unit.
Physics: mechanics through modern physics
The KEA Physics CET-2026 syllabus starts Class XI with units and measurement, kinematics, laws of motion, work-energy-power, and systems of particles with rotational motion. It then covers gravitation; properties of solids and fluids; thermodynamics; kinetic theory; and oscillations and waves. The Class XI practical-skills list includes measurement with vernier callipers and screw gauge, a simple pendulum, surface tension, viscosity, sound in air and specific heat by mixtures.
Class XII begins with electrostatics and current electricity, then magnetic effects of current and magnetism. The remaining theory units are electromagnetic induction and alternating currents, electromagnetic waves, optics, dual nature of matter and radiation, atoms and nuclei, and electronic devices. The PDF also lists experimental skills such as resistivity and wire resistance using Ohm’s law, galvanometer work, focal-length measurement, prism deviation, refractive index and diode characteristics.
When revising, keep the related ideas together: for example, connect electric fields and potential before capacitors, and revisit ray and wave optics as distinct parts of the same official optics unit. That is a study organisation suggestion based on the listed topics, not an official priority ranking.
Chemistry: physical, inorganic, organic and practical topics
The KEA Chemistry CET-2026 syllabus gives Class XI ten theory units: basic chemical concepts and stoichiometry; atomic structure; periodic classification; chemical bonding; thermodynamics; equilibrium; redox; organic principles and techniques; hydrocarbons; and practical chemistry. The detail includes mole and formula calculations, electronic structure, periodic trends, acids and bases, pH, equilibrium, organic reaction fundamentals, and reactions of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes and aromatic hydrocarbons. Practical coverage includes element detection and acid-base titrimetric work.
Class XII has solutions, electrochemistry and chemical kinetics; d- and f-block elements; coordination compounds; haloalkanes and haloarenes; alcohols, phenols and ethers; aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids; amines; biomolecules; and practical chemistry. The practical list names functional-group detection, titrations, selected cation and anion analysis, specified experiments, and preparation of compounds such as Mohr’s salt, potash alum, acetanilide and iodoform.
Use the unit labels and subtopics in the PDF as your checklist. In particular, the document includes practical chemistry in both classes; a revision plan that covers only named theory units would leave listed material out. The PDF’s periods remain teaching-time allocations, not an exam marks split.
Mathematics: functions, calculus, geometry and probability
The KEA Mathematics CET-2026 syllabus groups Class XI into sets and functions, algebra, coordinate geometry, calculus, and statistics and probability. Its listed subtopics include relations and functions, trigonometric functions, complex numbers and quadratic equations, linear inequalities, permutations and combinations, the binomial theorem, sequences and series, straight lines, conic sections, introductory three-dimensional geometry, limits and derivatives, measures of dispersion, and elementary probability.
Class XII covers relations and functions, inverse trigonometric functions, matrices and determinants, calculus, vectors and three-dimensional geometry, linear programming, and probability. Calculus explicitly includes continuity and differentiability, applications of derivatives, integrals and their applications, and differential equations. The document also specifies constraints on some subtopics, such as matrices up to order 2 for selected operations and determinants up to 3 × 3; consult the PDF wording rather than expanding a topic from a generic textbook list.
For practice, label errors by the listed unit and subtopic, then return to the matching concept before doing another timed set. That makes the syllabus actionable without pretending the document assigns higher KCET weight to any unit.
Biology: diversity, physiology, genetics and ecology
The KEA Biology CET-2026 syllabus organises Class XI around diversity in the living world; structural organisation in plants and animals; cell structure and functions; plant physiology; and human physiology. It names taxonomy and classification, plant and animal groups, flowering-plant morphology and anatomy, frog systems, cell structure, biomolecules, cell division, photosynthesis, respiration, plant growth, and human respiratory, circulatory, excretory, muscular, nervous and endocrine systems. Practical biology is separately listed, including plant and frog observation, stomata and inflorescences, mitosis and basic substance tests.
Class XII covers reproduction; genetics and evolution; biology in human welfare; biotechnology and its applications; and ecology and environment. The specified content ranges from flowering-plant and human reproduction to inheritance, molecular genetics, evolution, disease and microbes, biotechnology, population attributes, ecosystems, biodiversity and conservation. The PDF includes a separate Class XII practical list, including pollen work, gametogenesis, pollination, pedigree analysis, Mendelian principles, nucleic-acid staining and disease-causing organisms.
A useful next step is to download the four linked PDFs and mark each subtopic as “revised”, “needs practice” or “not started”. Keep the source year visible on your checklist: if KEA publishes a later cycle’s subject documents, compare those documents before carrying this 2026 list forward.
