Eligibility Criteria

Indian national.
Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories, EWS, and PwD belonging to Maharashtra).
Must have studied Mathematics at 10+2 level or during graduation.
Final-year degree students are eligible to apply.
No upper age limit.

What Does Your Score Mean?

Marks vs percentile (expected): 110-115 marks ≈ 90 percentile; 120-123 ≈ 95; 124-125 ≈ 97; 130-135 ≈ 98.5; 140-145 ≈ 99; 145-150 ≈ 99.99. Higher scores secure top colleges like VJTI, SPIT, SPPU (cutoffs typically above 99 percentile for general category). Final ranks depend on normalization across sessions.

Is there negative marking in MAH-MCA-CET?

No. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. Unanswered questions receive zero marks. You should attempt all questions.

Can I apply if I studied Mathematics only during graduation and not in Class 12?

Yes. The eligibility rule accepts Mathematics at either 10+2 level or during graduation. Ensure you have the mark sheet as proof.

What is the application fee for reserved category candidates?

For candidates belonging to backward classes (SC, ST, OBC, etc.) and PwD from Maharashtra, the fee is ₹1300. Others pay ₹1500. Fee is non-refundable.

When will the admit card be available?

The admit card was released on 17 March 2026 for the 30 March 2026 exam. Download it from cetcell.mahacet.org using your registration number and password.

How is the percentile calculated?

The cell publishes a normalization document. Percentile is calculated based on your raw score relative to the topper’s score in your session and the total number of candidates. It accounts for difficulty variations across multiple sessions.

What documents are required for counselling?

You typically need the scorecard, admit card, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, graduation mark sheets and degree, caste/category certificates (if applicable), domicile certificate, and a valid ID. Detailed list in CAP brochure.

I am from outside Maharashtra. Can I participate in counselling?

Yes. Non-Maharashtrian candidates compete as ‘Outside Maharashtra State’ (OMS) for all-India/open seats. Reservation benefits apply only to Maharashtra domicile candidates.

What is a good score to get a top college?

A score above 130 marks generally corresponds to the 95+ percentile, needed for top colleges like VJTI, SPIT, and SPPU. Cutoffs vary by category and round.
