VITEEE 2027 syllabus and paper structure
VIT has published separate subject-wise syllabus documents for VITEEE 2027. The paper is a two-hour computer-based test with 100 multiple-choice questions. MPCEA candidates take Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude; BPCEA candidates take Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude. Mathematics or Biology contributes 40 questions, Physics 25, Chemistry 25, Aptitude five and English five. The official marking scheme is +4 for a correct response, -1 for an incorrect response and zero for unanswered or marked-for-review questions. The paper is in English. Use the linked 2027 PDFs as the topic checklist; do not assume that a previous year’s outline has identical content.
Mathematics for MPCEA
The official Mathematics syllabus groups content into ten areas: matrices and applications; trigonometry and complex numbers; two-dimensional analytical geometry; vector algebra; three-dimensional analytical geometry; differential calculus; integral calculus and applications; ordinary differential equations; probability and statistics; and discrete mathematics. Examples include determinants, inverse matrices and systems of equations; conics and their tangents; scalar and vector products; limits, continuity, derivatives and extrema; definite integrals and area; first-order differential equations; conditional probability and Bayes’ theorem; permutations and combinations; and mathematical logic.
A useful study method is to map each named subtopic to your school notes and solve mixed problems after revising definitions and core methods. The syllabus lists breadth, not relative importance or predicted frequency. VIT does not publish chapter-wise weightage on the official syllabus PDF, so avoid allocating preparation time based on unsupported “most important chapter” percentages.
Biology for BPCEA
The Biology syllabus has ten areas: taxonomy; cell and molecular biology; reproduction; genetics and evolution; human health and disease; biochemistry; plant physiology; human physiology; biotechnology and applications; and biodiversity, ecology and environment. The listed detail ranges from classification systems, cell organelles and gene expression to inheritance, human physiology, recombinant DNA, ecosystems and conservation. Candidates using BPCEA should study from the official VITEEE 2027 document, because the test’s 40-question Biology section is central both to the exam and to the programme eligibility route.
Biology candidates should also cross-check admission eligibility separately. VIT limits BPCEA applicants meeting the required PCB marks to six stated programme-campus combinations. A syllabus match does not mean that every B.Tech programme is open to the Biology route. Confirm the current campus and programme list before deciding which paper to take.
Physics
The official Physics PDF lists fourteen areas: units and measurements; kinematics and Newtonian dynamics; work, energy and momentum; rotational dynamics and gravitation; mechanical properties of matter; oscillations and mechanical waves; thermal physics; electrostatics; current electricity; magnetism; electromagnetic induction and electromagnetic waves; optics; modern physics; and electronics. The document names both conceptual and quantitative coverage, including uncertainty, motion graphs, collisions, rotational motion, fluids, thermodynamics, circuits, magnetic effects, AC, optics, atomic and nuclear physics, semiconductors and logic gates.
Turn the list into a revision audit. For each topic, make sure you can explain the concept, identify the conditions under which a formula applies, and solve representative numerical questions. Record recurring errors such as sign conventions, units, diagrams or algebra slips. This is a study recommendation, not a claim that one topic is more likely to appear than another.
Chemistry
VIT organizes Chemistry into physical, analytical, inorganic, coordination and material chemistry, organic principles and functionalized compounds, and carboxylic acids, organic nitrogen compounds, biomolecules and polymers. The official list includes atomic structure and bonding, thermodynamics, kinetics, electrochemistry, chemical equilibrium and solutions; periodic trends and block elements; coordination compounds and solid-state chemistry; organic reaction types and isomerism; functional groups; biomolecules, polymers and chemistry in everyday life.
The topic labels are broad and the PDF supplies detailed subtopics beneath them. Use the current document to identify the exact reactions, concepts and named laws, rather than relying on a shortened commercial outline. Practise both recall and application: equations, conditions, nomenclature and conceptual distinctions all require different forms of revision.
English and Aptitude
The Aptitude syllabus lists data interpretation from tables and charts, data sufficiency, syllogisms, number series, coding and decoding, clocks, calendars and directions. English questions test comprehension of a short passage or lines of poetry, grammar and pronunciation at higher-secondary or equivalent level. Since there are five questions in each of these sections, candidates should include regular short practice instead of postponing them until the final week. The published topic descriptions do not provide a separate official weightage within these sections.
How to use the syllabus without overinterpreting it
Start by downloading all relevant VITEEE 2027 subject PDFs from the official admissions page. Choose Mathematics or Biology according to the paper you will take, and revise Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude as applicable. Create a checklist of the named topics and subtopics; mark each as unstarted, revising or practised. Use timed mixed sets to practise switching among topics and account for the negative marking by avoiding random guesses when you cannot eliminate options.
The official documents are syllabus lists, not a promise that each subtopic receives a fixed number of questions. VIT currently lists 40 questions for Mathematics or Biology, 25 each for Physics and Chemistry, and five each for English and Aptitude. It does not publish verified chapter-level weights in the sources cited here. Also note that the 2027 structure should not be confused with VITEEE 2026: use the 2027 PDF and current page when planning. If VIT posts a correction or revised syllabus, the updated official file should replace this snapshot.
