BMSCE admission guide: routes, eligibility and 2026-27 fees
B.M.S. College of Engineering (BMSCE) is in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru. Its admission pages distinguish Karnataka Entrance Authority (KEA) and COMED-K counselling from management-quota applications. The latest official notices captured on 1 November 2026 refer to the 2026-27 intake. They do not establish an application opening date, deadline, fee schedule or entrance-test year for 2027-28. Use the guidance below to understand the routes, then check the official admission page and current notice before applying. Undergraduate admissions · Postgraduate admissions
Undergraduate entry: first year and lateral entry
For first-year four-year B.E. admission, BMSCE lists KEA and COMED-K routes. Its page also carries a notice that management-quota applications for 2026-27 are open. The management page says applicants must take and qualify in an entrance examination conducted by CET/COMED-K or JEE Main Paper I. The page asks management applicants to take one of the listed entrance examinations; it does not state a current 2027-28 test-year requirement or publish a rank cutoff. Do not treat an old score or an earlier counselling rank as automatically valid for the next intake. Undergraduate admissions and management-quota notice
The page lists first-year B.E. courses in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Industrial Engineering and Management, Computer Science and Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science), Computer Science and Engineering (Internet of Things and Cyber Security including Blockchain Technology), Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and Computer Science and Business Systems. This is the institution's published programme list; course availability, seat matrix and approved intake can change by year and counselling authority.
For the KEA/COMED-K academic-eligibility rule shown on the page, general-merit candidates need at least 45% in the aggregate of Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects together with Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science or Electronics as an optional subject. The page specifies at least 40% for SC/ST and the listed OBC categories (Cat-I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B). English must be one of the languages in the qualifying examination. It also says Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science or Electronics marks may be considered in place of Chemistry when the Chemistry score is lower for the required aggregate. The published text does not explain every counselling-specific document, reservation or equivalence rule, so follow KEA or COMED-K instructions for your category and year.
A separate three-year B.E. lateral-entry route is listed for diploma or equivalent candidates. The page says general-merit applicants need an aggregate 45% across all subjects in the fifth- and sixth-semester final-year diploma examinations; it specifies 40% for SC/ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates. This is a different eligibility calculation from first-year entry. The captured page does not set out a current lateral-entry test, seat matrix or 2027-28 timeline, so confirm those details with the relevant counselling authority before choosing this route. MBA and MCA admission
BMSCE's postgraduate page labels its MBA and MCA admission details for 2026-27. For the two-year MBA, it accepts a bachelor's degree from a recognised university in any stream and says final-year students may apply if they submit results within the specified timeframe. The published minimum is 50% aggregate across all subjects, including languages, over the degree; SC, ST and Category-I candidates from Karnataka have a 45% threshold, with reservation benefits limited to Karnataka candidates. The page names KEA PGCET, KMAT, or another approved entrance examination recognised by the Government of Karnataka, VTU or another Karnataka university. It does not give a 2027-28 score-year rule, minimum rank or selection cutoff.
For the two-year MCA, the same page requires a recognised undergraduate degree or equivalent with Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Application, Computer Programming, Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as an optional subject. The stated aggregate is 50%, or 45% for SC, ST and Category-I candidates from Karnataka; the page says rounding off is not permitted. It lists KMAT or PGCET as mandatory. Check the current notice for the accepted test cycle and any later regulatory change. BMSCE postgraduate admissions
The page also announces 2026-27 first-year management-quota applications for M.Tech, MBA and MCA, but its current course-specific eligibility detail is not complete for every M.Tech branch in the captured material. Use the relevant department notice and current application form rather than carrying the MBA or MCA rule across to M.Tech.
Published management-quota fee amounts
BMSCE labels the following 2026-27 management-quota amounts as rupees lakh per annum. These are annual figures, not published whole-programme totals. The undergraduate page says hostel charges are extra. It does not establish that these prices apply to KEA/COMED-K seats, other categories or the 2027-28 intake.
For the 2026-27 postgraduate management-quota structure, the page lists MBA at ₹4L per year, MCA at ₹3.5L, M.Tech Data Science at ₹3L, M.Tech Transportation Engineering at ₹1.5L and M.Tech VLSI and Embedded Systems at ₹4L. The same page links a revised fresh-admission fee circular because the VTU fee was revised. Ask the admissions office for the latest circular and a written breakdown for the exact course, quota and academic year. These amounts should not be treated as all-in costs: the pages do not provide a complete current accommodation, mess or personal-expense total. Application steps and what to verify
Start from BMSCE's official Under Graduation or Post Graduation page and open the notice for your course and entry route. For KEA or COMED-K seats, use that authority's current counselling registration, document and choice-filling instructions. For management-quota seats, use the course-specific official application form linked by BMSCE; the page directs applicants to the Director (Admissions), International Division, at the Platinum Jubilee Block, Bull Temple Road, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru 560 019. It lists [email protected] and 080-26611636 for management admissions, with counselling Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The page states that the admissions office is closed Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, and government holidays.
Before submitting or paying, verify that the notice is for the correct degree, year and quota; that your entrance test and score year are accepted; how your marks are calculated; the category documents required; and whether the quoted fee is annual or a different component. The captured official pages do not show a 2027-28 deadline, cutoff, complete document checklist or a single all-in cost. If you are applying for 2027-28, do not rely on the 2026-27 figures above as a forecast. Ask for the current circular and save the issued fee schedule and application receipt.
