Start with the current DMS notice
The Department of Management Studies at IIT Delhi labels its live page “MBA Admission Process 2027.” It is the controlling source for the cycle-specific steps below. The page identifies CAT 2025 as the qualifying test for this process, so applicants should not treat these dates or instructions as a standing annual calendar or substitute another CAT year.
The page lists online applications opening on 30 November 2026 (tentative), a submission deadline of 25 January 2027, and admission results in the first week of May 2027 (tentative). The personal-interview date is marked “To be updated soon.” These are the dates currently shown on the official page; before planning an application, travel or resignation from work, recheck the live notice for revisions and the detailed interview schedule. A tentative start or result window is not a confirmed event date.
Check the degree and marks conditions
Applicants need a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university or institution. DMS specifies at least three years of study after higher secondary schooling. The published academic threshold is 60% aggregate across all years or semesters of the degree, or 6.00 CGPA on a 10-point scale. The page gives a five-percentage-point relaxation for SC, ST and PwD applicants: 55% or 5.50 CGPA on the same 10-point scale. These are alternative ways of expressing the threshold, not instructions to convert a grade from a different scale without an official equivalence. If your transcript reports a different grading system, ask DMS which conversion it accepts before concluding that you meet the minimum.
Candidates appearing in the final year, or awaiting results after completing degree requirements, may also apply. That is permission to apply, not an unconditional waiver of the degree requirement: DMS says selected candidates may join provisionally only if they submit the required certificate by a date set by the institute. The captured notice does not state that certificate date. Read the current notice and offer instructions for the document, format and deadline that apply to your case, and contact DMS if your qualification uses a different grading scale or equivalence.
When checking eligibility, compare your qualifying marks against the aggregate definition on the official page, then verify that your degree and its duration meet the stated requirement. Do not treat application submission as confirmation that a degree, percentage conversion or pending-result condition has been accepted. Keep the transcript and an official explanation of your grading scale available for later verification, while following only the document list and submission channel in the live notice.
CAT shortlisting leads to an interview
For the process described on the page, applicants are considered after qualifying CAT 2025; shortlisted candidates are invited to an interview at IIT Delhi. The admissions page does not publish a guaranteed CAT percentile, a call probability or an interview score threshold. A coaching estimate or a prior-year score should therefore not be presented as DMS’s current cutoff.
DMS separately publishes a composite-index criteria sheet for the 2026-2028 MBA and MBA (Telecom) batch. That document has its own batch, stage and scoring scope: the PI-shortlisting index combines CAT with degree and school marks, work experience, gender diversity and qualifying-institution background, and the PDF then gives a separate admission index for MBA Full-Time. It is not a CAT percentile and should not be carried forward to the 2027 admission process unless DMS issues a new criteria notice for that batch. Applicants should use the exact official notice attached to their application cycle and retain the relevant CAT score and category documents for the interview stage.
This distinction matters when comparing advice online. An index score is constructed from several inputs under a particular batch rule; a CAT percentile alone cannot reproduce it. The criteria PDF also separates the PI-call stage from the later admission index, so clearing one printed minimum is not a promise of selection. For a 2027 application, follow the current admission notice and any linked criteria issued for that process rather than treating the earlier table as a live threshold.
Submit carefully and verify the fee terms
The DMS page says the MBA application-processing fee is non-refundable, but the captured statement does not give its amount. Confirm the current amount and payment instructions in the live application portal before paying; do not assume a fee from another year or programme applies. Save the submitted form, payment acknowledgement and any interview communication.

The useful next checks are the live deadline, any changes to the interview date, the provisional-document certificate deadline if you are in your final year, and the final offer’s conditions. Before payment, confirm that the portal is the official IIT Delhi/DMS application channel, that the programme and CAT year match your application, and that the payment amount is displayed in the current form. Keep a copy of the submitted application and transaction acknowledgement. The application page is not evidence of admission probability, and meeting the published minimum marks alone does not guarantee shortlisting or selection. If a saved copy conflicts with the live DMS page, use the current official notice and ask the department to resolve a material ambiguity.
