DMS IIT Delhi admits candidates through four primary routes: the flagship full-time MBA, the specialized MBA in Telecommunication Systems Management, the Executive MBA for working professionals, and the Doctoral (Ph.D.) programme. The 2026 admission cycle for management programmes is complete, with rolling waitlists cleared through June 2026 and classes commencing in July.
Full-Time MBA and MBA (Telecom)
Eligibility and Route Options
Both full-time programmes require a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.00 CGPA on a 10-point scale (relaxed to 55% or 5.50 for SC/ST/PwD candidates). Final-year students are eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of degree completion by a stipulated date.
The programmes differ in their accepted undergraduate disciplines:
- MBA: Open to graduates of any discipline with a minimum three-year degree.
- MBA (Telecom): Restricted to candidates with a four-year engineering, technology, architecture, pharmacy, or B.Sc. Agriculture Engineering degree; or those with degrees in physical, chemical, or mathematical sciences, computer application, operations research, commerce, economics, or CA/ICWA.
- Foreign National Route: International candidates can apply to the MBA programme under the Foreign National category, utilizing either the Self-Finance or the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholarship route. This pipeline utilizes specialized shortlisting criteria independent of the domestic CAT-based index.
Selection Process and Index Cut-offs
Admission to the full-time programmes uses a two-phase composite scoring system rather than relying on a single closing CAT percentile.
Phase 1: Shortlisting Index (SI)
Candidates with a valid CAT score are evaluated on a 100-point Shortlisting Index to determine interview eligibility.
- CAT Score (65 marks): Calculated proportionally as (Overall CAT Score / Maximum CAT Score) x 65.
- Gender Diversity (8 marks): Awarded entirely to candidates of the deficit gender (female).
- Institution Tag (5 marks): Awarded for graduating from a MoE-funded Technical Institution, Institute of Eminence, or Institute of National Importance (such as an IIT or NIT).
- Academic Consistency (15 marks):
- Class 10 (5 marks): 0 marks for <75%, scaling to a maximum of 5 marks for >=90%. The scoring skips the 4-mark bucket entirely, jumping from 3 marks (85-89.99%) directly to 5.
- Class 12 (5 marks): Follows the exact same 0-5 scale and bucket jumps as Class 10.
- Bachelor's Degree (5 marks): 0 marks for <70%, scaling incrementally up to 5 marks for >=90%.
- Work Experience (7 marks): Freshers (under 6 months) receive 0 marks. The maximum 7 marks are reserved for candidates with 19 to 36 months of experience. Candidates with extensive experience (>48 months) see their score drop to 1 mark, heavily penalizing extreme outliers in the full-time cohort.
For the 2026 cycle, the minimum SI cut-offs to receive a Personal Interview (PI) call were:
- MBA: General (45.00), EWS (36.00), OBC (35.50), SC (32.50), ST (22.50), PwD (20.00).
- MBA (Telecom): General (44.00), EWS (35.50), OBC (35.50), SC (30.00), ST (21.00), PwD (13.00).
Admission Guardian Analysis: A male General-category candidate without work experience or a premium institution tag scores a maximum of 15 non-CAT marks, requiring at least 30 out of 65 possible CAT marks to hit the 45.00 MBA cut-off. Candidates with diversity or work-experience points can qualify with significantly lower CAT scores.
Phase 2: Final Admission Index (AI)
The final merit list shifts focus to the interview and completely removes the gender diversity boost. The 100-point AI comprises:
- Personal Interview & Extra-Curricular Activities: 40 marks
- CAT Score: 40 marks
- Work Experience: 6 marks
- Academic Profile: 11 marks (Class 10: 5, Class 12: 3, Bachelor's: 3)
- Institution Tag (MoE/IoE/INI): 3 marks
Post-Allotment Actions
Following the declaration of results, waitlisted candidates must actively complete a circulated survey form to explicitly register their continued interest in a seat; failure to do so by the stipulated deadline (e.g., 09 June 2026 for the 2026 cycle) results in seat forfeiture. Selected candidates must deposit their fees strictly within the short window provided in their personal offer letters.
Fee Structure
The total tuition fee for both full-time programmes is Rs 12.00 Lakhs for Indian citizens, billed over four semesters.
- General/OBC/EWS: Rs 3,31,000 per semester (comprising Rs 3,00,000 tuition, Rs 22,400 other charges, and Rs 8,600 institute residence fee).
- SC/ST/PwD: Exempt from tuition; these students pay Rs 31,000 per semester (other charges and residence fee).
Executive MBA
Eligibility
The Executive MBA is designed for working professionals. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD) and possess at least three years of post-qualification work experience.
Selection Process
Unlike the full-time MBA, the Executive MBA does not require a CAT score.
- Written Test: Candidates take an IIT Delhi-conducted two-hour examination assessing Verbal Aptitude, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Business Awareness.
- Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview.
Final selection weighs the written test, interview performance, qualifying degree marks, and professional background.
Fee Structure
The total programme fee is Rs 18.00 Lakhs.
- General/OBC/EWS: Rs 4,70,150 per semester (comprising Rs 4,50,000 tuition and Rs 20,150 other charges).
- SC/ST/PwD: Exempt from tuition; pay Rs 20,150 per semester.
- Application Fee: Rs 2,500.
Doctoral Programme (Ph.D.)
DMS IIT Delhi offers a Ph.D. programme for both full-time and part-time research scholars. While the primary admission cycles occur with advertisements in March and October (for May and December intake, respectively), the department accepts applications throughout the year.
Eligibility
The minimum academic and national-level examination requirements vary by qualifying degree:
- M.Tech. / M.E. / M.D. (or equivalent): 60% marks or 6.00 CGPA. No national-level exam qualification is required.
- M.Sc. / MBA / M.A. / MBBS (or equivalent): 60% marks or 6.00 CGPA. Candidates must also qualify in a national-level exam such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, ICAR, ICMR, or DST-INSPIRE.
- B.E. / B.Tech. (or equivalent): 75% marks or 7.50 CGPA. Candidates must hold a valid GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, ICAR, or DST-INSPIRE qualification.
(SC/ST/PwD candidates receive a 5% or 0.50 CGPA relaxation across all qualifying degree thresholds).
Part-time and Sponsored Candidates
Employees of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), government departments, R&D organizations, or approved private industries can apply as part-time candidates. The national-level examination requirement is waived for part-time applicants, though they must meet the same academic marks criteria. Sponsored full-time candidates must provide a sponsorship certificate guaranteeing study leave for at least three years (two years for M.Tech. holders) with full salary and allowances. Part-time candidates require a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and, if located outside the National Capital Region (NCR) or beyond 50 km from the institute, must fulfill a residency requirement.
