Great Lakes Chennai Admission 2027: PGDM and PGPM requirements
Great Lakes Institute of Management has separate admission tracks for its two-year PGDM and one-year PGPM. The PGDM is for fresh graduates and early-career applicants; the PGPM is aimed at candidates with at least two years of full-time work experience. Each programme has its own accepted exam windows and application, so applicants considering both must complete separate forms. The first published deadline for each 2027 cycle is 26 November 2026; later rounds are listed as to be announced. Check the official programme page before applying because dates and conditions can change. PGDM admissions 2027–29 · PGPM admissions 2027–28
PGDM eligibility and accepted tests
For the PGDM 2027 intake, the institute requires a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised institution and at least 50% across Class 10, Class 12 and undergraduate study. It accepts GMAT taken on or after 1 January 2024, CAT 2025 or 2026, and XAT 2026 or 2027. Fresh graduates may apply; candidates must have strictly fewer than 36 months of work experience as of 30 May 2027. Applicants with two to three years’ experience by 30 April 2027 are also encouraged to consider the one-year PGPM, but they remain eligible for PGDM and should compare both programmes. The institute describes profile-based early interviews for candidates who have registered for an accepted exam but are waiting for the result. These interviews consider academics, extracurricular participation, awards and achievements. A final offer still takes account of the exam score after submission, interview evaluation, diversity and merit. This is an early processing option, not an exam waiver. PGDM admissions 2027–29
PGPM eligibility and accepted tests
The one-year PGPM is a separate route for experienced applicants. For 2027–28, Great Lakes lists GMAT scores taken after 1 January 2024, CAT 2025 or 2026, XAT 2026 or 2027, and NMAT scores from 2025 onward. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in any discipline and at least 50% across Class 10, Class 12 and undergraduate study. Candidates with at least two years of work experience are considered. The page particularly encourages candidates with two to three years’ experience by 30 April 2027, while allowing those candidates to apply separately to the two-year PGDM as well. PGPM admissions 2027–28
The PGPM page states that there is no minimum CAT, GMAT, XAT or NMAT cutoff. It says exam scores are considered with academic consistency, work experience, leadership, essays and interviews. That statement is specific to PGPM. The PGDM 2027 page describes holistic evaluation but does not publish a numeric score cutoff in the admissions information reviewed here. Do not treat an indicative score from an older FAQ or third-party site as a guaranteed interview threshold for either programme. PGPM admissions 2027–28 · PGDM admissions 2027–29
How selection works
For PGDM, Great Lakes says it evaluates exam scores, previous academic performance, work experience, and performance in an AI-proctored interview and personal interview. The stated interview considerations include general and business awareness, goals, attitude, people skills, communication and personal, extracurricular or professional initiatives. College or university rank holders may receive additional weight when they provide proof of rank. The page also discusses integrity, originality and background diversity. No one factor is described as an automatic admission guarantee. PGDM admissions 2027–29
The current PGDM cycle table gives a 26 November 2026 Cycle 1 deadline and online personal interviews; Cycle 2, Cycle 3 and Cycle 4 deadlines remain to be announced on the page. The PGPM page also lists 26 November 2026 for its Cycle 1 and later cycle dates as to be announced. The programme pages describe separate evaluations, so applicants should not assume one application or test list automatically covers both. PGDM admissions 2027–29 · PGPM admissions 2027–28
Application steps and fee
Applications are submitted online through Great Lakes’ own website. The PGDM page lists an application fee of ₹2,200 and allows applicants to select Chennai, Gurgaon or both through the application options. Candidates applying to both PGDM and PGPM must submit the respective programme forms. Keep copies of academic records, accepted test details and supporting profile information ready, and use only the official application channel. PGDM admissions 2027–29 · PGPM admissions 2027–28
Great Lakes states that it does not admit candidates through management quota or another reservation route, and that it has not authorised third parties to initiate applications. Treat claims that an agent can secure a quota seat as inconsistent with the institute’s published instructions. The application page advises applicants to revisit the official site for updates because conditions and dates may be reviewed. PGDM admissions 2027–29
Cutoff information and applicant next steps
The PGPM page explicitly says it has no minimum entrance-test cutoff and describes a broader review. It does not provide a category-wise or programme-wise closing score table. The PGDM page likewise does not publish a numeric cutoff in the current admission information captured for this page. A separate Cutoffs article would therefore repeat the admissions explanation without adding an official rank or score series. Before applying, check the relevant programme’s latest eligibility and test window, note whether a new exam result can be submitted later, and treat any past “safe score” estimate as guidance only unless the current official cycle states otherwise.
For the 2027 intake, verify the Cycle 1 closing date and whether later cycles have opened on the programme-specific page. Check your experience calculation against the exact date specified for your programme. Candidates applying to both tracks should submit both applications and compare each programme’s fee, residence and cohort before accepting an offer.
