JIIT Scholarships 2026-27: Fee Waivers, Merit and Assistantships
Read the scheme by programme and admission route
JIIT’s scholarship page labels its fee-waiver scheme for Academic Year 2026-27. It separates undergraduate waivers tied to JEE Main All India Rank or Class 12 marks, merit schemes for selected postgraduate programmes, teaching assistantships and several named awards. The page also says admissions for 2026-27 are closed. These terms are a dated reference to that scheme; they do not establish eligibility or award availability for a later intake.
The waiver figures below apply to tuition fee unless the official page specifies another basis. A tuition waiver is not the same as a reduction of hostel, development, admission or other charges. The tables also include continuation requirements, so an initial award should not be assumed to continue automatically through the degree.
Undergraduate JEE and Class 12 waivers
For B.Tech and Integrated M.Tech admissions based on JEE Main AIR, the 2026-27 page lists a 100% waiver for ranks up to 15,000, 50% for AIR above 15,000 and up to 20,000, 25% for AIR above 20,000 and up to 25,000, and 10% for AIR above 25,000 and up to 30,000. The top award’s continuation rules are tied to semester CGPA: the page lists 50% continuation at CGPA 10.00, 25% for CGPA below 10.00 and above 9.50, and 10% for CGPA above 9.00 and below 9.50. It also requires no backlog in the semester, no attendance-related debarment and no disciplinary award. Because the official table prints strict inequality signs, applicants should confirm boundary values directly instead of assuming how a score exactly at a boundary is treated.
The Class 12 marks route is listed for B.Tech, BBA, BCA, B.Com, BA and Integrated M.Tech. The page shows a 100% waiver at 100% aggregate, 50% for marks below 100% and at least 97.5%, and 10% for marks below 97.5% and at least 95%. Continuation of the 100% award follows the same CGPA bands and academic conduct conditions shown in the table. The webpage says up to 200 scholarships are awarded at the time of admission, but that stated maximum should not be treated as a guaranteed number of awards in a future cycle.
For both undergraduate routes, continuation is checked each semester. The page says a student who fails a condition in any semester will not become eligible again merely by meeting the conditions later. Before applying, check the exact programme, entrance or marks route, offer terms and live scholarship notice for the applicable intake.
Other programme merit awards
For B.Sc., M.Sc., MCA and M.Com, JIIT’s 2026-27 table lists tuition waivers based on CGPA or equivalent qualifying-exam marks: 20% for 7.50–7.99, 30% for 8.00–8.49, 40% for 8.50–8.99 and 50% at 9.00 or above. The page separately presents an MBA table combining qualifying-degree marks and CAT percentile. It lists 20% at CGPA 7.50–7.99 with CAT percentile 60.00–70.00, 30% at 8.00–8.49 with percentile 70.01–80.00, 40% at 8.50–8.99 with percentile 80.01–90.00, and 50% at 9.00 or above with percentile 90.01 or above. Its lower 15% bracket at CGPA 6.00–7.49 is explicitly limited to students from the Jaypee Higher Education System (JHES) applying to MBA; it is not a general MBA waiver for all applicants.
The page says a fresh merit list is prepared for each department after a semester and that the previous semester’s CGPA is required for continuation. It lists a maximum of 30 MBA awards and 10 MCA awards. For M.Com and M.Sc, it lists scholarships for 50% of approved intake, with a maximum of 10 per branch. These limits describe the published scheme and do not guarantee that every eligible student receives an award.
Assistantships and named scholarships
JIIT lists a teaching assistantship of ₹15,000 per month for eligible M.Tech candidates with GATE qualification and M.Des candidates with GATE, CEED or NID qualification, under the existing policy. Other candidates may qualify with CGPA of at least 7.5 or equivalent marks at admission; the page says the assistantship is awarded for one semester and continuation requires CGPA of at least 7.5 in each semester. Integrated M.Tech students may receive assistantship in the fifth year if they achieve the stated CGPA in the preceding semester. Applicants should verify the live policy and whether their programme and entrance route qualify.
A tuition-fee waiver for girl students is listed for B.Tech only, for the minimum degree period, subject to parent income not exceeding ₹8 lakh per year and a valid state-issued income certificate. The page states two students per course, one each through JEE AIR and Class 12-based admission where both modes apply. It gives a CGPA 7.50 continuation condition. A separate board-topper scholarship for B.Tech is described as a 100% tuition waiver for the minimum four-year degree period, subject to proof from the recognised board and CGPA 7.50 continuation.
JIIT also lists the AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme as supernumerary seats equal to 2% of approved programme seats, awarded on merit to eligible applicants whose parents’ annual income from all sources does not exceed ₹8 lakh. The page requires a state-issued income certificate and says awards follow completion of the admission cycle. The William Webster Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is described as a one-semester tuition-fee waiver, with two awards in B.Tech (one each at Sector 62 and Sector 128). The page sets an income condition below ₹8 lakh, assesses merit using Class 10, Class 12 and first-semester results, and requires CGPA 7.00 for continuation along with a valid income certificate.
What to verify before budgeting
Scholarship tables can differ by programme, admission route, campus, income documentation and semester performance. Confirm whether the award is a tuition waiver, whether it covers the programme’s minimum duration or one semester, and which charges remain payable. Ask the admissions office to confirm the treatment of exact score boundaries, documentation deadlines, award count and continuation rules for the current cycle. The official page reviewed here presents 2026-27 terms; it does not confirm a 2027-28 scholarship schedule or the number of awards in a future admission year.
