Choose the admission route before you prepare documents
MANIT uses several admissions channels because it offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes with different selection systems. The Admissions Section separates JoSAA/CSAB notices for B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Plan and dual-degree applicants from the DASA route, postgraduate notices and institute-level admissions. Start with the notice for your exact programme and applicant category; the fact that two programmes appear on one institute page does not mean their eligibility, application portal or seat process is shared. MANIT Admissions Section.
The latest institute notices reviewed here describe 2026 UG counselling and 2026-27 postgraduate admissions. Their dates are historical by 1 November 2026. This guide does not assert a next-cycle application status or calendar. Check the institute and relevant counselling authority for the intake you plan to join.
Undergraduate admission: counselling for each degree
For the 2026 cycle, MANIT linked a revised JoSAA/CSAB admission notice for B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Plan and B.Tech-M.Tech dual-degree applicants. The programme catalogue describes four-year B.Tech courses, a four-year B.Plan, a five-year B.Arch and five-year dual degrees. It lists Mathematics and Data Science and Engineering and Computational Mechanics among the dual-degree options; its seat table is for 2025-26 and should not be treated as a 2026 or future seat matrix. MANIT UG Programme catalogue.
A candidate considering B.Tech should follow the current JEE Main and JoSAA/CSAB instructions for the applicable year, including registration, choice filling, allotment, reporting and document verification. B.Arch and B.Plan applicants should read the programme-specific paper, subject and counselling conditions in the current notice rather than assume every architecture/planning requirement matches B.Tech. An institute page linking a notice confirms the channel; the notice and counselling authority define the eligibility and deadlines. The 2026 MANIT notice was revised on 11 August 2026, so older versions may be superseded. MANIT Admissions Section.
DASA applicants have a separate 2026 notice for specified UG programmes and categories. Check the current DASA eligibility, fee basis, required qualifying examination and counselling dates directly; do not combine DASA conditions with JoSAA allotment rules. The institute’s 2026-27 fee document also distinguishes DASA, SAARC and non-SAARC charges, which is another reason to use the correct admission route before budgeting. MANIT Admissions Section.
Postgraduate admission: match the programme to its channel
MANIT’s postgraduate catalogue describes M.Tech and M.Plan admission through CCMT with GATE, M.Sc admission through CCMN with JAM, and MCA admission through NIMCET. It also lists MBA under Management Studies. The catalogue’s programme and seat information is labelled 2025-26; use it to understand the institute’s programme families, not to assume that every specialization or seat count remains unchanged. MANIT PG Programme catalogue.
The institute’s 2026-27 full-time and part-time brochure includes M.Tech, M.Plan, MBA, MCA, M.Sc, M.A./Master of Rural Management and Entrepreneurship (MRME), and multiple applicant categories such as institute, sponsored, self-financed and part-time. Those labels describe distinct application paths. In the 2026 notice, the PG application window closed on 1 June 2026; that date has passed and is not a deadline for the next cycle. Some programmes use centralized counselling, while institute-level programmes use the notice and application system MANIT specifies for that intake. 2026-27 PG admission brochure.
M.Tech/M.Plan applicants should first establish whether their target programme and category appear in CCMT or in an institute-level notice. M.Sc candidates should distinguish CCMN/JAM admissions from other routes. MCA applicants should use the current NIMCET cycle and verify the institute’s programme-specific conditions. MBA, MRME and sponsored or part-time applications require the exact MANIT notice; a GATE, JAM or NIMCET route should not be inferred for them just because those tests are used by other MANIT programmes. Ph.D., part-time and special categories
Ph.D. admissions and registration are handled through separate institute notices. MANIT’s Admissions Section lists full-time and part-time Ph.D. registration notices, but a registration notice for existing scholars is not the same as a new-candidate admission advertisement. Prospective researchers should look for a notice that explicitly invites applications, then check the department, research area, eligibility, entrance or interview stages, supervisor availability and current dates. MANIT Admissions Section.
Sponsored, self-financed, QIP, part-time, DASA and other special categories can change the qualifying rules, fee schedule and documents. Use the category named on the current notice. Do not rely on an older PDF or a third-party summary when the institute has published a revised notice or corrigendum. If your category or programme title is missing from the current advertisement, ask the Academic Section before paying an application fee.
A practical application checklist
- Name the exact programme and intake. MANIT’s UG, PG and Ph.D. notices do not share one universal application form or calendar.
- Confirm the selection channel. Use JoSAA/CSAB for the listed 2026 UG routes, DASA for its stated categories, CCMT/GATE for applicable M.Tech/M.Plan programmes, CCMN/JAM for listed M.Sc programmes, NIMCET for MCA, and the institute notice for institute-level or special-category admissions. Recheck the new-cycle notice before applying.
- Read eligibility in the correct notice. Confirm qualifying degree, subject requirements, examination year, category certificate rules and any sponsored or part-time conditions. A general institute course list does not replace the detailed admission advertisement.
- Use the current portal linked by the responsible authority. Keep a copy of the submitted form, payment receipt, choices and allotment or interview communication. Do not treat an old portal screenshot or expired deadline as evidence that an application remains open.
- Check the fee notice separately. Fees depend on programme, category and residential status, and some routes quote semester charges while others distinguish one-time, recurring and refundable amounts. The institute publishes separate 2026-27 schedules; those values are not a promise of the next intake’s cost.
- Verify reporting instructions after selection. Allotment, institute reporting, original-document checks and hostel allocation can have separate dates and conditions. Follow the newest official notice and any later corrigendum.
What is confirmed for the next cycle?
The latest official notices reviewed here describe 2026 or 2026-27 admissions. They do not establish a 2027-28 application calendar, current open seats, a new cutoff series or the continuation of every listed specialization. Before planning around an exam, deadline or fee, open MANIT’s Admissions Section and the relevant national counselling authority for the target year. A newly issued notice or corrigendum takes precedence over an earlier brochure.
