Ramireddy Subbarami Reddy Engineering College (RSREC) is a private institution in Andhra Pradesh that presents a classic case of a college with solid fundamentals but a reality check on its biggest selling point. Established in 2008 and affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur (JNTUA), it holds an NAAC 'A' grade accreditation—a notable achievement for a relatively young private college. The 11.85-acre campus near Kavali offers B.Tech programs in high-demand fields like AI & Data Science and Computer Science. But the story students tell, especially about placements and campus Wi-Fi, often diverges sharply from the official narrative. That tension between promise and lived experience defines RSREC.

Courses and Academic Programs at Ramireddy Subbarami Reddy Engineering College

RSREC's academic portfolio is streamlined and focused on current market trends, having phased out its Mechanical Engineering program. The B.Tech programs are the main draw, with intakes heavily skewed towards CSE and ECE. The MBA program is a smaller, two-year offering. You can view the full list of programs on the official RSREC website.

The faculty consistently emerges as a strong point in student feedback. They're rated 3.9/5 on Shiksha, and reviews frequently mention helpful, qualified teachers—many with Ph.D. or Master's degrees. The teaching-learning process uses digital classrooms, and the college emphasizes a "qualitative and enriching" experience. But there's a caveat. Some students point to outdated subjects and a lack of proper study material, suggesting the curriculum might not always keep pace with industry shifts. The labs, while numerous and covering areas from software testing to power electronics, receive mixed reviews on their equipment's modernity.

Ramireddy Subbarami Reddy Engineering College Placements: Packages, Companies & Reality Check

This is where you need to read between the lines. The official placement claim sometimes hits 100%, and some student reviews support an 80-85% placement rate with top packages as high as INR 26 LPA. The recruiter list is impressive on paper: Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Amazon, TCS, IBM.

But the data tells a more nuanced, and frankly, more realistic story.

The median package for B.Tech graduates in 2024 was INR 2.80 LPA. That's a crucial number—it means half the placed students earned at or below that figure. The average package floats around INR 3.5-5 LPA according to most sources. For MBA graduates, the median is even lower, around INR 1.80 LPA.

Then there's placement percentage. For the 2024-2025 batch, branch-wise data shows single-digit and low-teens percentages for core branches like CSE and AI & DS. That's a world away from 80%. The consensus from critical student reviews is stark: "only 15 to 20% of students getting placements," mostly in smaller companies and startups, with MNC visits being rare. Internship support is similarly patchy, with estimates ranging from 10% to 70% of students securing one through the college.

The verdict? While a handful of top performers might land good roles, the typical graduate should expect modest packages and be prepared for a significant off-campus job search. The placement cell's effectiveness, according to many alumni, is limited.

Fees and Financial Aid at Ramireddy Subbarami Reddy Engineering College

On cost, RSREC is positioned as an affordable option. The total tuition for a four-year B.Tech is between INR 1.64 and 1.8 Lakhs—that's just INR 41,000 to 45,000 per year on average. The two-year MBA costs INR 54,000 to 70,000 in total tuition.

The major additional cost is the hostel. Including mess charges, it runs about INR 50,000 per year. So, a B.Tech student looking at a full on-campus experience should budget roughly INR 80,000-95,000 annually for tuition and hostel combined.

Financial aid is available. The college participates in Andhra Pradesh government scholarship and fee reimbursement schemes. They also offer their own scholarships for students with a GPA above 96%. National scholarships like the NSP (PM-USP) Yojana are accessible for eligible students. It's worth checking the official site or contacting the administration directly for the latest forms and deadlines.

Admissions: Eligibility, Cutoffs & Selection Process

Admission is entrance-exam driven. For B.Tech, the primary gateway is the state-level AP EAPCET. JEE Main scores are also accepted but are less common. For MBA, the APICET is key, though scores from CAT, MAT, XAT, or CMAT are considered.

The cutoffs give you a clear idea of the competition level. For AP EAPCET 2025, the closing ranks for the Home State category were:

• B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science: 49,371
• B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering: 66,725
• B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering: 82,039
• B.Tech in Civil Engineering: 58,541
• B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 161,041

For MBA via APICET 2025, the Round 1 closing rank was 18,026.

The process follows the standard counseling route through the state authorities. The application window typically opens in April. Management quota seats exist, with eligibility based on qualifying exam marks, but details on fees and availability are best obtained directly from the college.

Campus, Hostels and Student Life

The campus itself gets good marks. It's described as green, eco-friendly, and well-maintained. Infrastructure like the library (with over 12,000 books and digital resources) and classrooms is generally praised. Sports facilities are available for cricket, football, basketball, and indoor games, though some note the equipment could be better.

Hostels are separate for boys and girls, are reported to be clean and secure, and operate as ragging-free zones. The catch, as with many colleges, is the food. Reviews on the mess and canteen quality range from "average" to "not sufficient," with complaints about high prices in the canteen.

Then there's the Wi-Fi debate. The college claims 24/7 high-speed wireless networking across campus. A significant number of student reviews directly contradict this, stating "no Wi-Fi facility for students" or that it's only available in hostels. This discrepancy is a major point of student grievance.

Student life is active with fests, cultural events, and clubs like NSS and Rotaract. The college organizes sports tournaments and yoga programs, contributing to what many call a "happy atmosphere."

Student Reviews: What Ramireddy Subbarami Reddy Engineering College Alumni Really Think

Synthesizing the feedback from CollegeDunia, Shiksha, and other platforms reveals a clear pattern.

The Good: Faculty quality is the undisputed champion. Students feel taught by competent, accessible professionals. The physical infrastructure—classrooms, labs, library, hostels—is consistently rated positively. The campus environment is considered safe, green, and conducive to studying, with a decent roster of extracurricular activities.

The Not-So-Good: Placement reality is the biggest sore point. The gap between official claims and the typical student's experience is wide and erodes trust. The Wi-Fi issue is another major frustration. Other complaints include variable food quality, some outdated lab equipment, and occasional criticism of management responsiveness.

In short, students feel they get a good academic foundation and a pleasant campus to live on, but are often left to their own devices when it comes to securing a job and staying connected online.

Verdict: Is Ramireddy Subbarami Reddy Engineering College Worth It?

RSREC is a college of clear trade-offs. Its NAAC 'A' grade and JNTUA affiliation provide academic legitimacy. The faculty is a genuine asset, and the campus infrastructure is better than many peers in its fee bracket. For a student with an AP EAPCET rank between 50,000 and 100,000 looking for an affordable, decent-quality engineering education in Andhra Pradesh, it's a viable option.

But you have to go in with eyes wide open. Treat the high placement percentages and premium recruiter lists with skepticism. Plan—from Day One—to build your own profile, seek off-campus opportunities, and prepare for a median starting salary around INR 2.8-3.5 LPA. The reported Wi-Fi issues are also a genuine concern for a tech student.

It's best for students who are self-starters, value good teaching and a clean campus, and are comfortable being proactive about their career. It's likely not the best fit for those who prioritize guaranteed campus placements, cutting-edge digital infrastructure, or a bustling urban location. Do your homework, talk to recent alumni on LinkedIn if possible, and weigh the strong academics against the less-strong placement support.
