Counselling is managed by institutions
CUET PG is a common entrance examination, but there is no single counselling calendar that covers every participating university and course. NTA conducts the examination and publishes candidate results. Universities decide how candidates apply to programmes, how merit is prepared, whether counselling is online, what documents are required and when a seat must be accepted.
The CUET PG 2027 counselling process has not been announced as of 27 October 2026. Candidates should not assume that registration on NTA’s examination portal automatically registers them for university counselling. After the result, check each shortlisted institution’s official admission portal and programme notice. The NTA 2026 result notice provides examination-cycle context, while institution-specific notices control admission.
A university-wise checklist
Before results, build a tracker with each target university and programme. Record the accepted paper code, eligibility, separate admission-form requirement, counselling or portfolio/interview requirement, documents and fee deadlines. Verify whether an institution uses a common university portal, a department form or a separate registration for each programme. Similar courses at different campuses may follow separate procedures.
When an institution opens admission registration, read the full notice. Confirm how to enter your CUET PG application number and score, whether choices must be ranked, whether category claims need supporting documents and whether the process includes an additional entrance, interview or skill test. Note the time zone and closing time for every deadline. Do not wait for the last round before completing an earlier mandatory step.
Typical steps, subject to each university’s rules
Many admission processes involve some combination of registration, programme selection, document upload, merit-list publication, seat offer, acceptance, verification and fee payment. This is a general outline, not a guaranteed sequence. A university may use a different order or omit a stage. Follow the official cycle-specific instructions.
If the university publishes a merit list or seat-allotment result, check the candidate login and registered email. An offer can have a short acceptance window. The notice may require an online willingness choice, fee payment, document verification or reporting to a campus. Missing one condition can cause a seat to lapse. Keep proof of every submitted form and payment.
Documents to prepare
The exact list varies by university and applicant category. Commonly requested records can include the CUET PG scorecard, application confirmation, photo identity, qualifying-degree mark sheets or provisional certificate, category or disability certificate where applicable, photographs and other programme-specific documents. The current notice determines the acceptable format and issue date. Do not assume that an older certificate or an unverified scan will be accepted.
Applicants awaiting final results should check whether provisional participation is allowed and the final date by which degree completion or mark sheets must be submitted. Category and reservation claims must match the institution’s definitions. Keep originals available if physical verification is required and make secure copies for upload. Never send sensitive documents to an unofficial agent.
Managing multiple offers
Candidates may apply to several institutions, each with different dates and selection rules. Make a comparison sheet for programme, campus, fee, seat conditions, acceptance deadline and refund policy. Read the official fee and withdrawal rules before accepting or declining an offer. A seat offer at one university does not automatically stop another process unless the institution’s rules say so.
Check later rounds only through official notices. A later vacancy list is not guaranteed, and historical rounds do not promise a future opportunity. If you have a genuine conflict or portal issue, contact the relevant university admission office using contact information on its official site and keep a written record.
