MAT registration for December 2026 is completed online through AIMA’s official portal, mat.aima.in. AIMA lists two single-mode choices, Paper Based Test (PBT) and Computer Based Test (CBT), and a combined PBT+CBT option. The current fee is ₹2,300 for either single mode and ₹4,000 for both. AIMA describes the combined price as the ₹2,300 base plus ₹1,700 for the additional mode. These amounts are MAT registration fees; they do not pay for a school’s separate MBA or PGDM application.
Before opening the form
AIMA asks candidates to keep a valid email address, scanned photograph of 10–50 KB, scanned signature of 5–20 KB and payment details ready. Its current candidate page lists credit or debit card, net banking, UPI and Paytm wallet as online payment methods. Follow the live form for accepted image formats, exact dimensions and any additional required information. A short candidate checklist does not replace the portal’s current instructions.
Decide which mode you intend to take before starting the payment step. PBT and CBT have different test dates and registration closing dates. For December 2026, PBT registration closes 14 December and the test is scheduled for 20 December; CBT registration closes 21 December and the test is scheduled for 27 December. A candidate choosing both must account for both dates. Do not select a mode only because its deadline is later if you actually intend to take the other test.
The single-mode fee is ₹2,300. The combined option is ₹4,000, which is ₹1,700 more than the single mode. AIMA also says candidates selecting both modes may choose seven institutes for score sending, compared with five for one mode. The extra fee buys the additional mode and two further score-recipient selections under AIMA’s stated arrangement; it is not a school application fee and does not guarantee a higher result or admission.
Complete the online application
- Open the active December 2026 registration flow from AIMA’s official MAT site. Check that the page and schedule refer to the correct administration before entering details.
- Create or access the applicant account using a valid email address and provide the information requested in the live form. Keep the account credentials accessible because AIMA directs candidates to the applicant dashboard for admit-card and score downloads.
- Select PBT, CBT or PBT+CBT and review the available city choices shown for that mode. AIMA publishes test cities separately; availability can differ by mode, and the final centre is stated on the admit card.
- Upload the photograph and signature according to the portal’s current file instructions. AIMA’s published checklist gives photograph and signature file-size ranges of 10–50 KB and 5–20 KB respectively. Check that each file is readable and attached to the correct field.
- Review the application details, test mode, city choices and the amount displayed before payment. AIMA lists card, net banking, UPI and Paytm wallet among the payment methods. Complete the portal’s payment flow and wait for its confirmation.
- Save the submitted application details and payment receipt, then return to the applicant dashboard to confirm that the application status is visible. If payment has been debited but the portal does not show a confirmed submission, follow the official portal’s support instructions before trying again.
This is a practical sequence based on AIMA’s stated online route and checklist. The current candidate page does not publish a guaranteed correction window or promise that submitted details can be edited. Review the displayed form and any declaration carefully before final submission. Do not assume a correction or refund option exists unless AIMA announces it for the current administration and states the applicable terms.
Choose institutes for score sending carefully
AIMA says single-mode candidates may select five management institutes and combined-mode candidates may select seven. It asks candidates to select institutes where they have applied or are applying. Score sending is not the same as applying to the programme. Each school may require its own form, fee, degree documents and selection steps.
Before choosing score recipients, identify the exact programme and campus and confirm directly with the institution that it accepts the December 2026 MAT score. AIMA warns that a score may not be accepted for full-time MBA admission by some institutions despite their earlier participation confirmation. Check the programme’s application deadline and accepted MAT administrations. If the school’s public notice is unclear, contact its admissions office and keep the response with your records.
AIMA advises candidates to check programme approval or recognition status with the concerned authority, institute or university. A listing in the MAT institute directory does not establish current approval for every programme, nor does it guarantee a place. Verify institutional and programme details through the responsible source before paying a separate application fee.
Current December 2026 payment and deadline details
The fees and dates above come from AIMA’s December 2026 information. The combined entry uses both schedules, so the earlier PBT deadline is relevant if the candidate wants to sit both tests. AIMA’s current candidate page does not describe a way to add PBT after its deadline by paying only the difference. Check the live portal if a combined-mode option is still shown near a deadline.
AIMA’s test-dates page gives the admit-card release dates: 17 December for PBT and 24 December for CBT. The candidate notice says the cards are available from 5 pm. Download the card from the applicant dashboard and check the assigned test date, time and venue address. The details on the card control test-day planning. A city preference entered during registration should not be treated as the final venue confirmation.
After submission and when to seek help
Keep the application number, payment confirmation and login details together. Check the official MAT portal for status, any new notice and the admit card. If the portal displays an error or an unexpected fee, compare it with AIMA’s current notice and contact the official MAT help channel. AIMA lists [email protected], two helpline numbers and a landline on its candidate information page. Do not send payment credentials over email or to an unofficial intermediary.
The official December 2026 notice gives no 2027 registration date, future fee or future application requirements. A candidate planning for a later cycle should wait for AIMA to publish that cycle’s form and schedule. Do not reuse a previous year’s payment amount, image instructions or test dates without checking the active portal.
Registration checklist
- Confirm the page is for MAT December 2026 and choose the intended mode.
- Check the correct mode-specific registration deadline and the test dates.
- Keep the email address, photograph, signature and payment method ready.
- Verify the city and mode options displayed by the portal before payment.
- Review each field and save the final application and payment confirmation.
- Apply separately to each target institution and reconfirm that it accepts the December MAT score.
- Download the relevant admit card from the applicant dashboard when AIMA releases it.
A successful MAT registration allows the candidate to take the chosen test mode. It does not submit a business-school application or reserve admission. Keep the exam portal and each programme’s admissions page in view as the December dates approach.
