Start by separating Mesra from BIT’s other campuses

The catalogue places B.Tech options at Mesra alongside separate off-campus listings; it also distinguishes offerings such as B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Biotechnology, Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Production and Industrial Engineering, and Food Engineering and Technology. This matters because a BIT-branded programme is not automatically taught at the Mesra campus, and its admission notice, fee schedule and placement evidence may belong to a different centre. It also lists Integrated M.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics and Computing, and Quantitative Economics and Data Science at Mesra. The same notice lists different combinations for Deoghar, Patna and Jaipur. This is stronger evidence of the programmes included in that particular special round than the general catalogue alone, but it is still a round-specific list of vacant-seat options, not a promise of seats in a future intake. At the time of this review, the institute’s live admissions page shows 2026-27 materials, including special-round admissions and internal branch sliding for B.Tech and Integrated M.Sc. The special-round notice says B.Tech and Integrated M.Sc applicants must have appeared in JEE Main 2026 and hold a valid Common Rank List rank. For a future application, first identify whether you want Mesra or an off-campus programme, then find that programme’s current admission notice and check its qualifying subjects, exam, counselling or institute application steps, category documents and dates. Do not carry a previous year’s deadline forward. The published notice page includes result and closure updates, so an old brochure can remain accessible after applications have ended.

For the named 2026-27 special round, the minimum qualifying-examination aggregate is 60%, with a 5 percentage-point relaxation for SC/ST applicants. The notice says the percentage calculation includes Physics, Mathematics, one language, Chemistry/Biology/a technical-vocational course, and one additional subject. For CSE, AI/ML and ECE, the listed semester total rises from ₹1,89,000 in semesters 1-2 to ₹2,49,000 in semesters 7-8; the page gives an approximate total expenditure of ₹17,88,000. For EEE, it lists ₹1,85,500 in semesters 1-2 and ₹2,44,500 in semesters 7-8, with approximate total expenditure of ₹17,55,000. Hostel fees are extra and payable at registration each semester, according to the same page. The approximate totals therefore do not tell a student’s residential cost, meal expenses, travel, personal costs or aid eligibility. The advertised approximate total is therefore not the same as a single semester’s tuition. Hostel charges are explicitly extra and payable during registration each semester. It reports an average CTC of ₹11.15 lakh and a highest package of ₹1.4 crore per annum. Offers are not the same as students placed, and the page’s headline does not provide a placement-rate denominator or a branch-by-branch breakdown. It separately labels the 2025-26 recruitment season and the Mesra campus average and highest package, but does not show how many students were eligible, how many accepted offers, how many offers were internships, or the distribution by branch in that headline. Mesra’s health-centre page describes a 20-bed dispensary operating around the clock, including Sundays and holidays, with OPD, emergency and minor inpatient services. It lists visiting specialist services, a pathology laboratory, physiotherapy, X-ray, ECG, dental clinic and isolation beds, and says patients needing specialised treatment or hospitalisation are referred to multispecialty hospitals.
