Choose the programme by work experience and award
Great Lakes Gurgaon’s 2027–28 admissions pages describe two distinct full-time routes: the one-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) and the two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). The published criteria point applicants toward the programme that matches their experience, not simply toward a common application label. The PGPM page says candidates with at least two years of work experience are considered and specifically encourages applicants with two to three years by 30 April 2027 to apply to the one-year flagship. It also says those candidates may apply to the two-year PGDM. Freshers and people with less than 24 months of experience are directed to PGDM.
The PGDM 2027–29 FAQ states that freshers and candidates with under three years of experience can apply. Read these statements with the exact time reference shown on the page: the PGPM's two-to-three-year encouragement uses 30 April 2027, while its general consideration line says two-plus years. Applicants close to the threshold should verify how the school counts experience before submitting. The programmes have separate criteria; a shared campus does not make their duration, award, or applicant profile interchangeable.
The school says eligible applicants may submit separate forms for both programmes, and the admissions panel may recommend a programme based on assessment and fit. That means candidates considering both routes should compare the one-year and two-year course structures and total costs, then complete each required application rather than assume one form covers both.
Tests and score windows for the stated cycles
For the PGPM 2027–28 intake, the official admissions page lists GMAT taken after 1 January 2024, CAT 2025 or 2026, XAT 2026 or 2027, and NMAT from 2025 onward. The page accepts Classic, Focus and Online GMAT editions. It says CAT, XAT and NMAT are used for admissions screening; IIMs, XLRI and NMIMS do not conduct Great Lakes academic programmes. These are score-screening routes, not a statement that the test bodies control the selection process.
For PGDM 2027–29, the official FAQ lists GMAT tests taken on or after 1 January 2024, CAT 2025 or CAT 2026, and XAT 2026 or XAT 2027. The PGDM FAQ also says applicants may complete the application before a test result is available, update the score in the application dashboard after results are declared, and receive a final decision only after submitting the score. That provision is useful for candidates waiting for CAT or XAT results, but it does not mean a missing score is waived from the final decision.
The Gurgaon PGDM admissions page has an older section explicitly headed “Admissions PGDM 2026 Intake” alongside the current 2027–29 key-dates table. This article uses the separate current-cycle 2027–29 FAQ for the PGDM test windows and eligibility; it does not carry forward the older 2026 intake wording as a new-cycle rule. Check the linked admissions page before applying because test windows and cycle rules can change.
Academic and work-experience eligibility
The official PGPM page requires a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised institution and a minimum 50% across Class 10, Class 12 and undergraduate study. The PGDM 2027–29 FAQ states a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised institution and at least 50% marks consistently across those same stages. The word “consistently” matters: applicants should not assume that a high graduation score offsets a lower school-stage score where the published criterion applies across all three.
The work-experience profile differs by programme. PGPM considers candidates with two or more years and encourages those with two to three years by 30 April 2027. The PGDM FAQ allows freshers and applicants with less than three years. As a result, a candidate with 24 to 36 months may appear eligible for both routes, while a fresher or candidate below 24 months is pointed toward the PGDM by the PGPM page. The precise date used to calculate experience should be checked against the current application form and admission office guidance, particularly for someone near a threshold.
Applicants from any undergraduate discipline may apply under the published degree rule; the captured criteria do not state a subject-specific bachelor’s degree requirement. The page also asks candidates to provide academic records and valid entrance-test scores. Keep transcripts and score details ready, but follow the live form for the definitive document checklist rather than treating an older page capture as an exhaustive list.
Selection process and assessment
The PGPM page describes assessment across test performance, school and university records, professional experience, leadership, integrity and diversity of experience. It requires an essay asking about the applicant’s personal qualities for the PGPM 2027–28 class and asks applicants to give concrete examples from academic, professional or personal life. This is a separate task from the test score: a candidate should use the essay to explain evidence of contribution, not repeat the CV in general terms.
The page says applicants provide an official recommender email address, with a recommendation letter collected from selected candidates’ recommenders and submitted online. It also describes an AI-proctored video interview before the final personal interview. The current PGPM key-dates table lists interview locations in Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. Candidates should budget for the interview process and watch the official page for its mode and city instructions as the cycle proceeds.
The PGDM admissions page says evaluation considers test scores, academics, work experience and interview performance. Its current cycle table lists the personal interview in online mode. The separate FAQ says there is no group discussion round and describes assessment through the personal interview. These are programme-specific source statements; do not transfer the PGPM interview-city list to PGDM or assume that a future cycle will preserve the same format.
Application cycles, online submission and fee
The official PGPM 2027–28 page lists four application cycles. It gives 26 November 2026 as the Cycle 1 deadline and marks the deadlines for Cycles 2, 3 and 4 as “To be announced”. The PGDM 2027–29 key-dates page also lists 26 November 2026 for Cycle 1, with later-cycle deadlines still shown as TBD. These dates are time-sensitive; an applicant should verify the live page and application portal before relying on a saved copy, especially if submitting close to a deadline.
The official pages direct candidates to apply online. The PGPM page lists an application payment of ₹2,200 and says applications can be made separately for Chennai and Gurgaon or through a common form by selecting both campuses. It says the forms for PGPM and PGDM are separate when a candidate applies to both. The PGDM admissions page also lists ₹2,200 for the online application. This article does not infer whether a candidate applying to multiple programmes or campuses pays the fee once or more than once; check the portal’s current payment screen.
The institute states that it has not authorised third parties to initiate applications and does not admit candidates through management quota or other reservation. Applicants should use the institute’s official application channel and avoid intermediaries promising a seat. This is an institutional rule as published on its own admissions pages.
Before you submit
First decide whether the one-year PGPM or two-year PGDM fits your experience and career plan. Then verify the exact test edition and score window for that programme, confirm the 50% academic criterion across the stated school and undergraduate stages, and check how experience is counted on the live form. Candidates near the 24- or 36-month boundaries should seek written clarification before relying on a broad summary.
For PGPM, prepare the mandatory essay and identify a recommender whose official email can be supplied. For PGDM, keep score records and academic details ready; if results are pending, the current FAQ says a score can be added later, while the final decision waits for it. Submit through the institute’s own application portal and check the live deadline, interview mode and documents list before paying.
The source pages contain cycle-specific criteria and also retain a clearly labelled PGDM 2026 intake section. Because the school can revise terms, applicants should rely on the current 2027–29 PGDM FAQ and 2027–28 PGPM page when applying, and confirm any ambiguity with Great Lakes Gurgaon admissions. The test bodies screen scores; admission decisions and academic programmes remain with the institute.
