There is no single annual PTE Academic exam date
PTE Academic uses rolling test-centre appointments. Candidates search Pearson’s live booking system for an available city, date and time; Pearson does not publish one annual all-India examination day or a single registration deadline for every candidate. A slot visible today can disappear as bookings change, while new availability can be added. The date shown in your myPTE account and booking confirmation is the appointment that matters.
This exam schedule is separate from a university’s application calendar and from any visa deadline. A programme may close applications before a convenient test slot is available. Check the exact course and intake deadline first, then work backward from when the institution must receive a valid score. Do not use a previous year’s appointment dates as a forecast or treat a university application deadline as a PTE booking cutoff.
Find a suitable appointment
Use Pearson’s official PTE pages and myPTE account to select the test, country, city and centre. Review the actual date and local time before confirming. PTE Academic is currently centre-based; do not assume an at-home appointment is available. If comparing multiple centres, also consider travel time and the required identification document. The selected booking flow displays current availability and the applicable price for that test and location. Pearson’s public fee page did not show a readable India amount in the source check dated 28 October 2026, so this guide does not quote a number.
Before you book, verify that the recipient accepts the exact test. PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI share format and scoring, but the UKVI version carries the Secure English Language Test reference needed for certain visa routes. Core and Home have different purposes. A visa condition may also have its own timing or validity rule. The earliest appointment is useful only if it is the right test and the result can arrive in time for the actual application.
Build a realistic timeline
Allow time for more than the appointment itself. A practical sequence is:
- Confirm the course or route’s accepted test, score requirements and final score-receipt deadline.
- Search live test-centre slots and choose a date that leaves room for a delay or a retake if needed.
- Check the current identification policy and make sure your booking details match your ID.
- Sit the test and wait for the score report. Pearson says results are usually available within two business days; some can take up to five business days.
- Share the result through the recipient’s required official channel and allow for its own processing time.
The result estimate is not a promise that an institution will receive, verify or evaluate the report by a particular date. If your application deadline is close, ask the institution whether a pending result or later score submission is allowed. Do not assume that you can edit a submitted application after it closes.
If you need to change the date
Pearson’s cancellation and rescheduling policy depends on how much notice remains before the appointment and the options shown in the candidate account. Review the current policy before confirming a booking; the refund or change available can depend on the remaining lead time. Manage a change through the official account rather than relying on a third party’s summary. Save any cancellation, rescheduling or refund confirmation.
If a centre appointment is unavailable before your deadline, check other official locations and dates, then contact the institution about its score deadline or accepted alternatives. Do not assume a different PTE variant, an online format, a later intake or an extension will be accepted. Those decisions belong to the institution or relevant authority.
What to check on test day
Reopen the appointment confirmation shortly before travelling and follow the instructions for the exact centre. Confirm the location, arrival time and original ID required under the current country-specific policy. The identity details used at booking must match the ID under Pearson’s policy; exceptions or permitted alternatives can depend on country and test. A missing or mismatched document may prevent testing, so resolve a concern with Pearson before the appointment rather than at the centre.
Keep the booking confirmation, test date, score-report details and score-sharing record. Together they help you answer an institution’s question about when you tested and whether its office received the official result. For current availability, price, centre instructions and any schedule change, use the live Pearson booking and test-centre flow and your myPTE account.
