About SRMJEEE 2026

SRM runs three separate entrance exam phases each year, and each attempt costs ₹1,400. The exam is fully online, remote-proctored, and has no negative marking.

SRMJEEE (SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination) is the national-level test for B.Tech and integrated M.Tech programmes across all SRM campuses including Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, Ghaziabad, Sonepat, Amaravati, Trichy, and Sikkim. Admission is purely rank-based through centralised online counselling.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Indian citizens, NRI, PIO, OCI card holders.
Age: Minimum 16 years and 6 months as on 31 July of the year of the Class 12 board examination. Maximum gap of 3 years after Class 12.
Academic: Passed or appearing in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, and one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics, Botany, or Zoology.
Minimum Marks: 60% aggregate in the three subjects (Physics, Mathematics, and the third subject) for Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani campuses. Other campuses may accept 50-55% - verify on srmist.edu.in.
NIOS: Students who have completed both Class 10 and Class 12 through NIOS are not eligible.
Attempts: Can appear in multiple phases in the same year; best rank is considered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there negative marking in SRMJEEE?

No, there is no negative marking. You are awarded 1 mark for each correct answer and 0 for incorrect or unattempted questions. It is advisable to attempt all questions.

Can I appear in more than one phase?

Yes, you can appear in any or all of the three phases. You must submit a separate application and pay a separate fee (₹1,400) for each phase. Your best rank among all attempts will be considered for counselling.

What is the application fee?

The application fee is ₹1,400 per phase. It is non-refundable. The fee can be paid online via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.

What is the counselling fee?

During counselling, you need to pay a total of ₹1,10,000, which includes a non-refundable registration fee of ₹10,000 and a counselling fee of ₹1,00,000. This amount is adjusted against your first-year tuition fees.

What are the eligibility marks in Class 12?

For Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, and Vadapalani campuses, you need a minimum of 60% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics, and your chosen third subject (from the approved list). For other campuses, the requirement may be 50% or 55% - check the specific campus page on srmist.edu.in.

How many attempts are allowed?

There is no limit on the number of attempts in a year. You can take the exam in all three phases to improve your rank.

When are the results announced?

Results for each phase are announced online usually within 2-3 weeks after the exam dates. Phase 1 results are in May, Phase 2 in late June, and Phase 3 in mid-July.

How is the rank determined?

The All-India SRMJEEE rank is based on your marks out of 130. The merit list is prepared separately for each phase. Seats are allocated during centralised counselling based on rank, campus/programme preferences, and seat availability.

I am an NRI/PIO/OCI. Can I apply through SRMJEEE?

NRI, PIO, and OCI candidates must apply through the international student category using the separate international application form at intlapplications.srmist.edu.in. SRMJEEE is only for Indian residents (Indian nationals).

Can I change my exam slot after booking?

No, once you book a slot (date and time), it cannot be changed. Slot booking is on a first-come, first-served basis, so book early.

What are the system requirements for the remote-proctored exam?

You need a desktop or laptop with a webcam, microphone, and a stable internet connection. Standard system: Intel i3 (4th gen) or equivalent, 4 GB RAM, 2 GB free disk space, Windows 8 or above (Mac 10.14 Mojave or higher). Mobile phones cannot be used for the exam.

Are there any scholarships available?

Yes. SRM offers Founder's Scholarship (rank 1-100: 100% tuition & hostel fee waiver), Merit Scholarship (rank 101-500: 100% tuition waiver; rank 501-1000: 75%; rank 1001-2000: 50%; rank 2001-3000: 25%). Other scholarships include socio-economic, differently-abled, sports, and arts & culture. Details are on the official site.
