SRMJEEE Registration 2026: How to Apply, Fees & Step-by-Step Guide
SRMIST opened SRMJEEE 2026 registrations on 30 October 2025-a deliberate head start on most other private engineering entrance exams. You get three attempts between April and July 2026, each costing ₹1,400. The fee is identical for every candidate, regardless of category, and non-refundable. One missed verification email or a blurry signature upload can stall your application right at the gate.
Important Dates at a Glance
Phase 1 exams run in two daily slots: Forenoon 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM and Afternoon 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM. For Phase 2 and Phase 3, the slot booking windows and mock test dates will be notified on the admission portal shortly before the exam.
Who Can Apply? The Eligibility Checklist
Check these points before you even open the registration page. A single unmet condition can make your entire application void.
- Class 12 aggregate: Minimum 60% in Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/IT/Informatics Practices/Engineering Graphics/Botany and Zoology.
- Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Genetic Engineering: 60% in PCM or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology/Botany and Zoology). If you didn’t study Mathematics in 10+2, SRMIST adds a compulsory 4-credit Mathematics bridge course in the first year.
- Campus-specific thresholds: The Ghaziabad (NCR) and Sonepat campuses accept 55% aggregate in PCM/PCB. Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, Tiruchirappalli, and Amaravati require 60%. Verify your target campus on the official website.
- Age: At least 16 years and 6 months as on 31 July 2026. No upper age limit applies.
- Academic gap: Maximum 3-year gap after Class 12. Candidates who passed both 10th and 12th through NIOS are not eligible.
- Appearing candidates: You may apply while writing your 2026 board exams, but you must produce a final passing marksheet at counselling.
- NRI/PIO/OCI candidates: You must use the separate international application form at
intlapplications.srmist.edu.in. The standard Indian-category portal will not accept your application. The international application fee is USD 50 or INR 3,000, and you may be eligible for direct admission without SRMJEEE-provided you satisfy the eligibility criteria and pay the international fee structure.
Registration Step-by-Step
The whole process lives online at applications.srmist.edu.in/btech. There is no offline form, no demand-draft option for the application fee.
Step 1: Create Your Account
Go to the portal, click Register. You will enter:
- Full name
- Email address
- Mobile number
- A password of your choice
- State and city (drop-down menus)
- Captcha verification
An email will land in your inbox-check spam if it doesn’t appear within 10 minutes. Click the verification link inside. Until you verify, your account is inactive and you cannot log in.
Warning: The email ID you use here becomes your permanent login for all communications: admit card, result, counselling notices, fee reminders. SRMIST does not permit email changes later. Pick a personal account that will still exist in August 2026.
Step 2: Fill the Application Form
After verification, log in with your credentials. Your dashboard shows the B.Tech application; click Apply Now.
The form is multi-section. You will need:
- Category Details: Choose B.Tech, your stream (PCM or PCB), and three test city preferences.
- Personal Details: Name, date of birth, gender, community, nationality. If you are an NRI/PIO/OCI, stop here and head to the international portal. The regular form is for Indian nationals only.
- Parent & Address Details: Father’s and mother’s name, occupation, contact information, and your address.
- Academic Details: Your 10th and 12th board, marks, passing year/passing status, and the 10th certificate registration number. Keep your 10th marksheet beside you-the registration number must match exactly.
The form also asks you to select campus and programme preferences. This choice has zero bearing on your final seat allotment. SRMIST collects it only for statistical analysis. Your actual campus and branch selection will happen during online counselling, after you have your SRMJEEE rank.
Step 3: Upload Photograph and Signature
You need exactly two image files, both JPEG:
Use a plain white or light-coloured background. Blurry photos, shadows on the face, or a signature that extends beyond the frame can cause instant rejection. The photo must clearly show your face - it will appear on your admit card and be matched by the AI proctor on exam day.
Step 4: Pay the Application Fee
The fee is ₹1,400 per phase, across all categories. Payment is online only: debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
- 1 phase = ₹1,400
- 2 phases = ₹2,800
- All 3 phases = ₹4,200
Each phase requires a separate application and payment. If you apply for Phase 1 and later decide to attempt Phase 2 as well, you must submit a fresh application and pay again.
The fee is non-refundable under any circumstance. If your payment status shows “pending” for more than 24 hours, do not pay again. Raise a technical query through the portal’s Query Management System. Double payments are extremely difficult to reverse.
Step 5: Submit and Print Confirmation
Review every field before you click the final payment button. Once the fee is paid, no edits are allowed. SRMIST does not open a separate correction window after payment. Only before payment can you go back and fix errors.
After successful payment, download and print your application confirmation. Note your application number-you will need it for slot booking, admit card download, and result checks.
After Registration: Slot Booking, Mock Test, and Admit Card
Here’s what happens next, using Phase 1 as the concrete example. Phase 2 and Phase 3 will follow a similar rhythm.
Slot Booking (Phase 1: 18 - 20 April 2026)
Slot booking opens on the admission portal at admissions.srmist.edu.in. You log in with your registered email and password, or with your application number and date of birth.
Pick a date and a time slot (morning or afternoon) from the available options. Two slots per day exist, and seats fill up fast-this is a first-come, first-served process. Once you confirm a slot, you cannot change it. Booking starts on 18 April at 1:00 PM and closes on 20 April at 11:00 PM. If you miss this window, SRMIST may auto-assign a slot, but it won’t necessarily be your preferred one.
Immediately after booking, your hall ticket becomes available for download. Print at least two copies and keep a soft copy.
The Mandatory Mock Test (Phase 1: 21 - 23 April 2026)
The mock exam is not optional-SRMIST’s guidelines use the word “compulsorily”. You can take it any time between 11:00 AM on 21 April and 8:00 PM on 23 April.
To access it, you must download and install a secure exam browser from the link provided on the admission portal (the exact address is communicated via email and available on the portal before the mock window). This same browser will be used for the real exam. The mock test replicates the real remote-proctored environment, including:
- AI-driven camera monitoring (face position, eye movement, background noise)
- Live proctor oversight
- The exact question navigation interface-you answer one question at a time, cannot go back to previous questions, and cannot submit before 120 minutes have elapsed.
Skipping the mock test is risky. It’s the only way to confirm your webcam, microphone, and internet connection work with SRMIST’s proctoring software. If your system fails during the real exam due to an avoidable setup issue, no re-exam will be conducted.
System Requirements for the Remote-Proctored Exam
Whether for mock or real, you need:
- Computer: Intel i3 (4th gen equivalent) or higher, 4 GB RAM minimum, 2 GB free hard-disk space, 80 GB HDD or higher. Windows 8/10/11 or macOS 10.14 Mojave and above.
- Peripherals: Working webcam, microphone. Speaker volume must be kept at 100% so the proctor can communicate. Headphones are not allowed.
- Internet: Stable wired or Wi-Fi connection with at least 1 Mbps speed. A mobile hotspot is acceptable only if data is sufficient for 150 minutes without interruption.
- Browser: The secure exam browser is a separate application you install; no additional browser is needed for the test itself. Before exam day, uninstall any screen-sharing tools (TeamViewer, AnyDesk, Zoom, etc.).
Mobile phones and tablets cannot be used.
What the Admit Card Contains
Your hall ticket shows your photograph, application number, roll number, selected exam date and time, subject combination, and detailed instructions. On exam day, you must also hold a valid photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, passport, driving licence, or school ID). Both will be checked through the webcam before the test starts.
You must log into the exam platform 60 minutes before your slot to complete identity verification: a live photograph of yourself and a clear photo of your ID. The exam starts exactly at the scheduled time, and the “I want to submit” button appears only after 120 minutes have passed. You cannot leave your seat or move out of the camera frame for the entire 150-minute duration.
NRI/PIO/OCI and International Applicants: A Separate Route
If you hold an NRI, PIO, or OCI card, you are ineligible for the standard Indian application. Use the dedicated international portal:

Key differences:
- Application fee: USD 50 or INR 3,000 (non-refundable).
- SRMJEEE: The exam is not mandatory for international applicants. You can be admitted directly if you meet the academic eligibility norms.
- Fee structure: International tuition fees apply, not the Indian fee slabs.
- Scholarships: SRMIST offers up to 50% fee waiver based on Grade XII scores (≥70%) or SAT scores. Separate scholarship forms are available on the international admissions page.
If you are an Indian citizen but studied abroad, select “Indian” at registration and furnish your educational background details. You still need to appear for SRMJEEE.
What’s Next? Counselling and Seat Allotment (Brief)
After each phase’s result is declared online, qualified candidates receive an email about online counselling. The process involves:
- Counselling registration and choice filling: You log in, rank campuses and branches in order of preference, and lock your choices.
- Seat allotment: Based on your SRMJEEE All India Rank, preferences, and seat availability. Phase 1 counselling starts in May 2026, Phase 2 in June-July, Phase 3 in July-August.
- Fee payment upon allotment: You must pay a total of ₹1,10,000-a one-time non-refundable registration fee of ₹10,000 and a counselling fee of ₹1,00,000 (which is part of the tuition fee). Non-payment within the deadline automatically cancels your allotted seat.
- Document verification: You upload scanned copies of mark sheets, rank card, ID proof, category certificate (if applicable), etc. Physical reporting to the campus occurs after final admission confirmation.
Except for the ₹10,000 registration portion, fees are refundable as per AICTE norms if you withdraw within the stipulated period.
Common Mistakes That Cost You a Seat
- Using a temporary or shared email: If you lose access, you lose all exam communications; the email cannot be changed.
- Name mismatch with 10th certificate: Even a single letter mismatch can cause verification failure. With no post-payment edit option, you may have to reapply.
- Uploading an old or unclear photo: The AI proctor uses it to verify your identity. A mismatch or a dark/blurry image can trigger a flag.
- Paying for the wrong exam phase: You must select the phase explicitly during form filling. Changing your mind after payment means paying again for a new application.
- Skipping the mock test: No re-exam will be granted if your webcam or internet fails during the real test.
- Booking a slot carelessly: Slots cannot be changed. Book only when you are certain about the date.
