SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST)
SRM doesn’t run one entrance test. It runs three separate exams spread across April, June and July, each with its own registration window, slot booking scramble and counselling round. The Phase 1 result landed on 5 May at 3 pm sharp. Phase 2 registration closes on 4 June, and if you haven’t submitted that ₹1,400 application yet, you’re already borrowing time from your Phase 3 backup plan.
The upside of this three-phase structure is real: you can appear again if your first attempt goes sideways. The catch is that every phase demands a fresh application, a separate fee, and your full attention to deadlines that never wait. Below is the full timeline - built from SRMIST’s own notifications, candidate bulletins and verified announcements - so you know exactly when to act.
SRM runs three independent exam phases. Each phase has its own application deadline and requires a separate form and fee.
| Phase | Application Deadline | Fee (non-refundable) |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 16 April 2026 | ₹1,400 |
| Phase 2 | 4 June 2026 | ₹1,400 |
| Phase 3 | 30 June 2026 | ₹1,400 |
If you plan to take all three phases, your total application outlay is ₹4,200. You apply online at applications.srmist.edu.in/btech using a valid email ID, a scanned passport-size photo and signature (both JPEG, 10-200 KB). The course and campus preferences you enter on the form are for statistical purposes only; your real choices get made during counselling.
What happens if you miss a deadline? You simply move to the next phase. Miss Phase 1, and you can register for Phase 2 until 4 June. Miss Phase 2, and Phase 3 is still open until 30 June. There is no late-fee window - once the portal closes for a phase, it’s closed.
Every phase exam is held in remote-proctored online mode. You take it from home on a laptop or desktop with a webcam. Mobile phones are not allowed.
| Phase | Exam Dates | Daily Shifts |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 24 April - 29 April 2026 | Slot 1: 10 am - 12.30 pm · Slot 2: 2 pm - 4.30 pm |
| Phase 2 | 10 June - 15 June 2026 | Same two-slot structure |
| Phase 3 | 4 July - 5 July 2026 | Same two-slot structure |
Two shifts run each day. Across Phase 1’s six exam days, you have 12 possible slot combinations. Phase 3 is the tight window - only two days, so slots fill fast. You pick your date and shift during the slot booking window; once booked, you cannot change it.
Slot booking is mandatory. If you register but don’t book a slot, SRM auto-allots a leftover date and time, and you lose the freedom to choose what suits your schedule.
Slot booking windows confirmed so far:
| Phase | Slot Booking Window | Booking Portal |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 18 April (1 pm) - 20 April (11 pm) | admissions.srmist.edu.in |
| Phase 2 | 6 June - 7 June 2026 | Same portal |
| Phase 3 | To be announced (likely 2-3 days before exam) | Same portal |
The system works on a first-come, first-served basis. Login with your application number and date of birth, pick an available exam date and shift, and confirm. That’s it. Immediately after confirmation, the admit card becomes available for download.
What if your preferred slot is gone? You get whatever is left. That’s why Phase 1 candidates who logged in the moment the window opened at 1 pm on 18 April got their first choice; those who waited until late on 20 April took what remained. The same pattern will repeat for Phase 2 and 3.
There is no separate admit card release date. The hall ticket exists the moment you finish slot booking.
How to download it:
The card carries your name, photograph, application and roll numbers, exam date, time slot, subject combination and remote-proctoring instructions. On exam day, you must show a printed copy plus a valid government photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, passport, driving licence or school ID). Digital copies on your phone won’t be accepted for ID verification.
SRM releases a free mock test before each phase. It’s not an optional practice run - it’s your only chance to verify that the secure exam browser installs correctly, your webcam feeds properly, and your internet doesn’t drop.
| Phase | Mock Test Window |
|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 21 April (11 am) - 23 April (8 pm) |
| Phase 2 | 8 June - 9 June 2026 |
| Phase 3 | To be announced |
During the Phase 2 mock test window, SRM even required downloading a specific secure exam browser. Candidates who skipped the mock and showed up on exam day with an incompatible system were left locked out. Don’t be that candidate.
Results are declared phase-wise on the admissions portal. You check your rank card using your application number and date of birth.
| Phase | Result Date | Mode |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 5 May 2026, 3 pm (confirmed) | Online, at srmist.edu.in or admissions.srmist.edu.in |
| Phase 2 | Late June 2026 (tentative) | Online |
| Phase 3 | Second week of July 2026 (tentative) | Online |
The Phase 1 result was announced on time - no last-minute delays. The rank card shows your All India SRMJEEE rank; save it immediately. You’ll need it for counselling, choice filling, document verification, and even education-loan applications.
If you appeared in multiple phases, SRM considers your best score for the merit list. That means a Phase 2 rank can override a weaker Phase 1 rank, and so on.
Counselling is online and happens separately after each phase. The Phase 1 schedule has already been published with concrete dates.
| Event | Date(s) |
|---|---|
| Counselling process start | 7 May 2026 |
| Choice filling window | 7 May - 10 May 2026 |
| Programme allocation & counselling fee payment (₹1,10,000) | 14 May - 21 May 2026 (by 11 pm) |
| Full fee payment deadline | 31 May 2026 (by 11 pm) |
The fee breakdown: ₹10,000 is a one-time non-refundable registration charge; the remaining ₹1,00,000 is the counselling fee, adjusted against your tuition. If you failed to pay the full balance by 31 May, the seat was cancelled.
Candidates not allotted a seat in Round 1, and those who didn’t fill choices at all, can participate in Round 2. Choice filling is tentatively scheduled for 27 May 2026. The exact seat allotment and payment windows will be posted on the admissions portal closer to that date.
| Phase | Counselling Window (Expected) |
|---|---|
| Phase 2 | Late June 2026 - July 2026 |
| Phase 3 | July 2026 - August 2026 (possible spot rounds) |
Detailed round-wise dates for Phase 2 and 3 will be published only after the respective results are declared. Keep checking admissions.srmist.edu.in and your registered email. The Phase 1 experience shows SRM gives roughly 3-4 days for choice filling after counselling opens, so have your campus and branch preferences ready beforehand.
SRM’s academic calendar for the 2026-27 session enrols continuing students around 20 July 2026, with odd-semester classes starting soon after. New B.Tech students typically begin orientation and classes in August 2026. The exact date will be communicated during counselling and in the final admission instructions. You’ll have enough time after fee payment to sort out hostels and travel.
