For CUET UG 2026, NTA issued an advance examination-city intimation slip before the admit card. The city slip was not the admit card: it provided advance information about the city and subject/language-wise schedule. Candidates were required to follow the date and shift on the admit card, and NTA stated that a candidate could not appear on a different date or shift from the one allotted. The 2026 cycle has concluded; the sources reviewed do not announce a 2027-28 admit-card release date. Use only the current NTA notices and candidate portal for the next cycle. City slip and admit card are different documents
An advance city slip tells a candidate the city where an examination centre will be located and may provide the subject-wise schedule. It helps with travel planning. It is not an entry pass for the examination. The admit card is issued separately and contains the candidate’s assigned examination details and instructions. For the 2026 process, NTA explicitly said the 29 April city intimation was not the admit card and directed candidates to download the admit card later.
Do not rely on a city slip alone when preparing to travel to or enter the centre. Download the admit card through the official candidate route when NTA releases it, read all instructions and bring the required documents listed there. If NTA issues a revised admit card after a permitted change or rescheduling, use the latest document and check whether the earlier one has been superseded.
How to get the current admit card
For an active cycle, start from the official CUET UG website or the NTA notice announcing release. Follow the link for the correct examination and session, enter the requested candidate credentials, and download the admit card as a PDF. Save an electronic copy and print a readable copy if the current instructions require one. Avoid third-party “download” pages that request passwords, payment or identity information outside NTA’s portal.
The release timing is announced by NTA and can differ by exam date or candidate group. The 2026 timeline included separate notices for admit cards and rescheduled candidates, so one candidate’s release notice should not be treated as applying to every candidate. Check that the notice covers your scheduled paper and date, then log in again if your exam is later or has been rescheduled. Do not rely on a general expected release date published before NTA’s notice.
Check the details immediately
After downloading, compare the admit-card details with your submitted application and official identity document. Check the candidate’s name, photograph, signature, application or roll number, examination date, shift, reporting time, centre name and address, subject or paper details, and any instructions for identity or accommodations. The exact fields may vary by the document. Confirm that the photograph and signature are legible and that the PDF opens and prints correctly.
Check the city and centre address carefully rather than relying only on the city name. Plan the route and travel time using the address on the admit card. Note reporting and gate-closing times, permitted items, dress instructions and any required undertaking. NTA may publish additional advisories after admit cards are released; read the current advisory and the instructions printed on your own card.
If you find a discrepancy or cannot download the document, use the helpdesk details and deadline in NTA’s release notice. The 2026 city-intimation notice directed candidates facing download difficulty or discrepancies to contact the NTA helpdesk by phone or email. Keep your application number and a screenshot or copy of the error, and state the exact mismatch. Do not wait until the examination day to report an issue.
What to carry and how to handle changes
Follow the admit card and current NTA instructions for the documents required at the centre. Carry the admit card and the specified original identity proof. Some candidates may need additional verification documents under a specific NTA notice; requirements can depend on the identity or photograph process used during registration. PwD/PwBD candidates should follow the applicable scribe, compensatory-time and supporting-document instructions. Do not assume that a photocopy, digital wallet version or university identity card is accepted unless the official instructions permit it.
If NTA authorises a change to city, date or shift, read the conditions and deadline carefully. In May 2026, NTA offered a limited facility for selecting a different state, city, date or shift when the allotted city differed from an applicant’s preference. It was subject to slot availability, dynamic allocation and a short application window. Candidates who changed their allocation were to receive a revised admit card; those who did not exercise the option had to appear according to their existing allocation. This does not establish a general right to request a change in another cycle. NTA’s 5 May 2026 facility notice
When a paper is rescheduled or an admit card is reissued, read the accompanying notice to determine whether your original date is cancelled, what new date applies and which document to present. Preserve the newest card and any instructions that identify it as revised. Do not make travel arrangements from an old city slip after a notice changes your allocation.
Exam-day preparation
Before leaving, recheck NTA’s latest notices for your paper and date. Confirm the centre address, travel route, reporting time and entry requirements. Keep the admit card in good condition and follow the permitted-items list. Arrive with enough time for security and identity checks; the time printed on the card is the authoritative schedule for you. If a centre detail appears inconsistent between documents, contact NTA through the official route rather than choosing one informally.
The city slip is useful for planning, but it does not override the admit card. A general examination window is not your personal schedule. Your final preparation should be based on the latest official admit card and any notice that expressly applies to your candidate group.
What to expect for 2027-28
No official 2027-28 CUET UG admit-card date was found in the sources reviewed as of 27 October 2026. NTA will publish the applicable release instructions and schedule for the next cycle. Do not assume the 2026 timing, city-slip sequence or change facilities will repeat. Monitor the official website and candidate account, download the correct document when it is announced, and recheck for later revisions before travelling.
