As of 27 October 2026, official sources reviewed here document the completed CUET UG 2026 cycle. NTA has not announced the 2027-28 schedule in those sources. The dates below are a historical record, not a forecast. For the next intake, use the new information bulletin and later notices at CUET UG and NTA. The 2026 timeline changed after the first bulletin, so applicants should follow notices through the cycle instead of relying on a date table copied from an earlier year.
Application schedule: later notices changed the first window
NTA's 3 January 2026 notice initially set form submission for 3-30 January, fee payment through 31 January, and a correction window for 2-4 February. It listed the examination window as 11-31 May 2026, marked tentative. This was the initial timetable, not the whole registration history.
NTA later extended the application deadline. Its 23 February notice says the initial application period had been extended to 4 February, with fee payment through 7 February. NTA then reopened submission and payment from the afternoon of 23 February through 26 February at 11:50 p.m. This reopened opportunity had an important restriction: the notice said no correction facility would be provided after submission. A later application opportunity therefore did not mean the usual correction process would be available. Candidates needed to review their entries carefully before submitting. The practical lesson is procedural, not predictive. An extension or re-opening is an official decision for that cycle. It does not create an entitlement to another extension, correction window or similar deadline in a future year. Submit accurately by the current deadline rather than relying on a possible extension.
Examination, city and admit-card milestones
The initial bulletin described 11-31 May as the tentative 2026 examination window. NTA's 29 April city-intimation notice confirmed conduct during 11-31 May and stated that candidates' city slips included the subject and language-wise schedule. It explicitly distinguished the advance city-intimation slip from the admit card: candidates were to download the slip for city and schedule information, then follow the date and shift on the admit card. The city slip was not permission to appear on a different date or shift. NTA's 29 April city-intimation notice
The timeline continued to evolve. On 5 May, NTA opened a limited facility for candidates assigned a city different from their application preference to select a different examination state, city, date or shift. That facility ran from 5-7 May, subject to available slots for the candidate's subject combination and dynamic first-come, first-served allocation. NTA said candidates who did not use the option had to appear according to their existing allocation. Users of the facility were to receive revised admit cards. This was a defined adjustment, not a general right for every candidate to change an exam date. NTA's 5 May city/date/shift facility notice
Later NTA notices also covered rescheduling for affected candidates. The broad window therefore does not tell an individual when or where to sit. The candidate-specific city slip and admit card carry the relevant schedule, and a later notice may supersede earlier instructions for a specified group. Check the official portal and registered account for notices that apply to you.
Build a reliable dates checklist
For a future cycle, mark a milestone “announced” only after the responsible NTA notice confirms it. Track the information bulletin and application opening, form deadline, fee deadline, correction or reopening window, city slip, admit card, examination dates, answer-key and response-sheet windows, and result. Then add university-level applications and counselling deadlines after results. These are separate processes and may be run on different portals.
Keep a link to the notice beside each date. Record when you checked it, whether the date is tentative or confirmed, who must act, and whether a later notice changed the process. A form-submission deadline can differ from payment deadline. A correction window is different from a reopened application period. A facility offered to a specific candidate group does not mean all candidates can request the same change.
Use search results or social posts only as alerts that something may have changed. Open the official notice itself to verify the date, time, affected candidates and steps. Cropped screenshots can omit a crucial qualifier, such as “tentative,” a cutoff time or a restriction to certain candidates. If a notice is superseded, follow the newer notice within its stated scope.
What to expect for 2027-28
No official CUET UG 2027-28 timetable was present in the sources reviewed for this page as of 27 October 2026. Do not carry January and May 2026 dates forward as if NTA had repeated them. The next bulletin may set different application dates, deadlines or examination arrangements. Further notices may revise the initial schedule or add a facility for candidates in defined circumstances.
When the next bulletin appears, read the full dates table and related application instructions. Monitor official notices through registration, city allocation, admit cards and the examination itself. Separately track each target university's admissions portal because application, counselling and reporting dates are institution-specific. A useful plan combines announced NTA milestones with the actual university deadlines and leaves room to act on revisions.
If you missed a date or found conflicting information
First identify the action: form submission, payment, correction, city selection, admit-card download, university registration or counselling. Each may have a different deadline and responsible portal. Open the notice for that action and check its date, time, candidate group and any later superseding notice. An extension may cover form submission but not a separate step; a reopened window may impose special restrictions.
If you cannot tell whether a notice applies to you, contact the authority using the route in the notice or candidate portal. Keep your application number and payment proof available, and save the written response. Do not assume a university can reopen an NTA deadline, or that NTA controls a university's counselling schedule. For a future cycle, do not wait for a rumoured extension while the published deadline is still active.
After the examination
The NTA examination calendar is only one part of the admission timeline. After the test, NTA may publish provisional answer keys and recorded responses, open a time-limited challenge period, finalize keys and declare scores. Watch for the exact notice and payment or submission instructions before raising a challenge. Do not assume that a general result date from an earlier cycle applies to the current one.
At the same time, make a separate tracker for the universities on your shortlist. Record when each institution opens its own registration, when course preferences must be entered or locked, and when documents, fees or seat acceptance are due. A candidate can have a valid NTA score and still miss an institution's application or counselling deadline. University dates should be checked on that institution's current admissions portal, since NTA's examination notices do not establish a common national counselling calendar.
