Choose the correct application route first
NIFTEE 2027 applications are submitted online through the NTA NIFTEE portal. NIFT’s FAQ advises candidates to complete one application form and take care with the programme, category, phone number and email address. Before you open the form, decide whether you are applying to one programme or to one of the named integrated combinations. A candidate who is eligible for BFTech with Mathematics may also select BDes in the BFTech+BDes combination. An eligible MFM applicant may also select MDes in the MFM+MDes combination. These are specific options, not a general two-course application facility.
The combination changes the examination papers and fee. For example, BFTech+BDes applicants take the relevant GAT sections plus CAT and receive separate Common Merit Ranks. If you do not satisfy the BFTech Mathematics requirement, choosing the combined option does not bypass it. Likewise, an MFM+MDes applicant must satisfy both course rules and complete the extra assessment. Review the current prospectus before selecting the route so that your application, eligibility evidence and preparation match.
The NIFTEE 2027 standard online registration opened 16 October 2026. The bulletin lists 16 November as the regular deadline and 21 November as the late-fee deadline. It marks the timetable tentative, so check for a later public notice. The form is cycle-specific. Do not reuse old application links, last year’s dates or another candidate’s login page.
Complete the form and payment carefully
Enter personal details as they appear on the relevant identification and academic records. Select two or three preferred test cities as directed by the FAQ. NIFT/NTA will try to allot a preferred city but can allot a different city for administrative or logistical reasons. A preferred city is not a guaranteed centre. Use a working phone number and email account you can access through the result and counselling period.
The fee is based on both category and programme count. For one listed programme, the 2027 bulletin sets the examination application fee at ₹2,000 for Open, Open-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates, or ₹500 for SC, ST, PwD and PwBD candidates. The named BFTech+BDes and MFM+MDes combinations cost ₹3,000 and ₹750 respectively. The listed NRI/Foreign/OCI/PIO/SAARC UG/PG fee is ₹11,100. These are exam application charges, not tuition. The payment gateway may add a service charge; NIFT says the application fee is not refundable. Check your category documents and the selected programme count before submitting payment.
Payment is online through the payment gateway. After submission, the portal should generate a confirmation page and application number. Download the confirmation page and proof of payment, and keep the photograph used in the form for exam-day verification. NIFT says candidates do not need to send the confirmation page or documents to NTA by post, but should retain these records for future reference. If the payment is debited but no confirmation page appears, the FAQ advises waiting for reconciliation and contacting the NTA helpdesk if the page still does not appear; do not assume an application is complete until the portal confirms it.
Use the correction window and resolve errors
The bulletin lists an online correction window from 22 to 25 November 2026, after the normal and late-fee deadlines. It is a short opportunity to correct permitted particulars, not a safe substitute for checking your form before submission. The FAQ states that a change to category or the number of programmes may change the payable fee; an additional amount may therefore be due. Recheck the confirmation page after saving changes and retain the updated record.
If a detail is wrong, use the official correction workflow while it is open. Do not send identity documents or payment details to unofficial accounts or rely on a coaching-centre message as proof that NIFT changed your form. For technical or fee-payment issues, use the contact details shown on the current NTA/NIFT notice. Keep a dated screenshot or downloaded receipt of the portal response for your own follow-up.
After application, monitor the NIFTEE portal for city intimation, admit card, recorded responses, answer-key notices and the scorecard. The city slip is not a substitute for the admit card, which gives the final centre and shift. Inspect the name, roll number, date of birth, paper code, gender, category, centre and city. For result and later admission steps, also check NIFT Admissions: the NTA handles test registration and scorecard functions, while NIFT handles admission matters and seat allocation.
Applicants using another admission category
Artisan, NLEA, international and PhD applicants have separate forms or schedules and should not follow the standard route without checking their category page. The 2027 bulletin lists a separate Artisan BDes application and selection schedule. NLEA candidates have a lateral-entry qualification and further test requirements. The international-category route uses a separate application and score process, including the applicable SAT, GMAT or GRE requirements. PhD applicants follow the research programme instructions. The same NIFTEE landing area may link to these materials, but a visible portal link does not make their dates, fee or eligibility identical to regular UG/PG admission.
Before the deadline, complete a final four-point check: the correct NIFT programme; the correct route and category; the right single or permitted combined application; and a saved confirmation page plus payment proof. Then monitor official notices rather than assuming that a successful fee transaction alone completes the application. Use NIFTEE on NTA and NIFT Admissions for current forms, updates and route-specific guidance.
