Confirmed WBJEE dates and the status of the next cycle
WBJEEB had not published a WBJEE-2027 schedule on its official WBJEE page when checked on 27 October 2026. The page displayed the completed 2026 cycle. That means there is no confirmed 2027 registration window, correction period, admit-card release date, exam date or result date to put on a calendar yet. Do not infer the next schedule from the 2026 calendar or from a different WBJEEB examination.
The latest confirmed reference is the 2026 cycle: the board page lists online registration from 10 March to 8 April 2026, and the information bulletin scheduled the examination for Sunday, 24 May 2026. Paper I Mathematics ran from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Paper II Physics and Chemistry ran from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A result notice issued on 17 June said rank cards would be available on 18 June from 4 p.m. Those dates are useful for understanding how the cycle unfolded. They are already past and must remain labelled 2026.
The 2026 calendar, in dependency order
The registration and examination dates appear on the official WBJEE page and in the bulletin. The result release appears in WBJEEB’s result notice. The counselling notice itself states that WBJEE-2026 had been conducted on 24 May and results had already been declared; it set out a separate centralized process. The September notice is a revised framework for decentralised counselling after centralized counselling, not an extension of the exam or a new WBJEE test date. The 12 October item is a current-events listing of institution notices under a later vacancy-filling context, not a 2027 exam notification.
Why dates should be read as a sequence, not a forecast
A WBJEE calendar has several owners. WBJEEB’s examination page and information bulletin govern the registration and examination reference. The board’s result notice governs when the rank card becomes available. Counselling schedules govern registration, choice locking, allotment, seat acceptance and reporting. Later vacancy or decentralised processes can have separate rules and deadlines. A date in the exam notice does not determine a counselling date, and a previous year’s interval between milestones does not create an announced deadline for the next cycle.
For the 2026 cycle, the information bulletin described the result path after the examination: model answer keys, a limited opportunity to challenge them, final frozen keys, candidate access to OMR images and machine-read responses, then rank cards. Those stages are dependent: candidates needed the notice for each specific window, because the bulletin did not provide a reusable fixed number of days between exam, challenge and result. It also says the Board may publish the admit card on a notified date. The bulletin is therefore not evidence for a specific 2027 admit-card release date or correction window.
The 2026 bulletin set a charge of ₹500 per question, plus any bank service charge, for challenging an answer key. It set the same per-question amount for a challenge to a captured OMR response. These were process fees, not calendar milestones, and the bulletin left the permitted challenge period to a separate notice. A useful timeline therefore records the challenge fee and the official window separately. Do not treat the fee or window from 2026 as confirmed for a later cycle.
The same principle applies after result. The 2026 Engineering/Technology/Architecture counselling notification dated 29 June set a three-round centralized process and stated that detailed schedules would be notified separately. Later notices then amended the process and introduced a common online decentralised route for residual vacancies. Candidates who had already completed one admission route could still face separate eligibility, registration and document requirements in a later process. Always check the newest notice for the exact stage you are entering.
Build a usable calendar for the next announced cycle
For 2027 planning, keep a sequence with unconfirmed milestones marked “await official notice.” First, watch for the WBJEE-2027 information bulletin and registration notice. When registration opens, save the application start date, last date, any correction window, fee-payment deadline and the time zone or portal closing time exactly as stated. Then separately record the admit-card availability notice, paper timing, answer-key and OMR-response windows, result notice and counselling schedule. Do not fill gaps by copying a 2026 date into a 2027 cell.
When a notice is published, capture its publication date and whether it is tentative, revised or final. If a corrigendum or revised schedule appears, use the newest version for the affected milestone and retain the earlier version only as history. This is especially important when an extension changes a deadline: the old date can remain visible in search results or saved PDFs even though it no longer controls the action.
Add reminders from the official deadline, not from a coaching calendar or an unofficial summary. For an application, work backwards from the last date far enough to resolve login, image, payment and confirmation-page issues. For a correction period, identify which fields are editable and which are permanently locked. For an exam day, use the centre and reporting instructions on the issued admit card. For counselling, treat choice locking, seat-acceptance payment and institute reporting as separate actions. These are planning practices; exact dates and rules must come from the current notice.
The 2026 bulletin says the application is complete only after the confirmation page is generated, and it notes that some primary registration fields cannot be changed. The result and counselling stages then introduce different documents and deadlines. A calendar should therefore include the action attached to each date, not just the date label. “Registration closes” is less useful than “finish the form, pay, and download the confirmation page by the notified deadline.”
Where to check for changes
Use the official WBJEE examination page for the current exam cycle and the WBJEEB current-events page for newer notices. The current-events page checked on 27 October 2026 showed multiple 2026 counselling and vacancy updates, including institution notices dated 12 October. The current cycle remained 2026 material at the time of this research pass; no WBJEE-2027 calendar was listed.
For an already registered or ranked candidate, use the candidate portal and the exact notice that names the required event. For a future applicant, wait for the 2027 bulletin before treating any application, exam, admit-card or result date as confirmed. The 2026 dates above provide context for the order of events and the way notices are issued; they are not a prediction of the 2027 schedule.
