WBJEE-2027 registration is not open or dated yet
As checked on 27 October 2026, the official WBJEE page still showed the completed 2026 cycle and no WBJEE-2027 registration notice. The application steps and fee details below come from the WBJEE-2026 information bulletin. They are a practical reference for understanding the form, not an announcement of a 2027 opening date, closing date, correction window or payment amount. Use the next bulletin and live application portal for the rules that control your application.
The 2026 portal sequence had two main parts. First, a candidate registered with personal identity and contact details and created a password. Then the candidate filled the remaining application details, chose examination zones, uploaded a photograph and signature, paid the examination fee and downloaded the confirmation page. The Board’s bulletin states that an application is not complete until that confirmation page is generated. A payment receipt alone is not the completion check.
Prepare details before starting the form
For the 2026 cycle, the initial registration asked for the candidate’s name, parents’ names, date of birth, gender, identification type and number, present and permanent addresses, mobile number and email address. The bulletin warns that core registration information such as name, parents’ names, date of birth, gender and domicile could not be changed or edited after registration. Enter these details from the supporting records you will later present for verification. Do not rely on a later correction window to fix a spelling, date or domicile mistake in a locked field.
After registration, the application asked for further information, including domicile, category, PwD status, TFW status, income category, religion, nationality and academic details. Applicants then chose examination zones in order of preference. The bulletin says the candidate receives an application number and confirmation message, and it advises keeping the application number and password secure. In the 2026 process, a forgotten password could be recovered through the portal’s “Forgot Password” option; the board cautions candidates not to share credentials.
Before filling this section, check which information is a factual declaration and which is a claim requiring a certificate. A category, domicile, disability or TFW selection can affect later seat consideration and document checks. The fact that a portal accepts a selection does not mean the Board or an institute has approved the supporting claim. The 2026 bulletin assigns final verification to the allotted institute during or after counselling.
Images, examination zones and payment
The 2026 bulletin required JPG/JPEG uploads of a recent colour photograph, sized 10-200 KB, and a signature, sized 4-30 KB. Both images had to be uploaded in one go. These are the 2026 file specifications; use the next portal’s instructions if any dimension or file-size requirement changes. Prepare clear source images before opening the form and check the portal preview before moving to payment.
The candidate chose examination zones in order of preference. The board stated that centres would be assigned based on those choices but that an alternate zone could be assigned in unavoidable situations, and that a request to change an assigned centre would not be entertained. A zone might also be cancelled because of low enrolment or unforeseen issues. Therefore, choose zones you can realistically reach and wait for the admit card for the final venue; a submitted preference is not a guarantee of a particular centre.
For WBJEE-2026, the application fee depended on the candidate category and gender. General-category applicants paid ₹500 for male candidates, ₹400 for female candidates and ₹300 for third-gender candidates. Applicants in SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS, PwD or TFW categories paid ₹400, ₹300 and ₹200 respectively for those same gender groups. The fee was non-refundable. The bulletin listed Net Banking, debit card, credit card, UPI and QR code as payment modes and said the authorised banks would not impose service charges. These amounts and payment methods are historical 2026 details, not a 2027 fee table.
Use only the payment options in the live official portal. Save the transaction acknowledgement and return to the application after payment to confirm the status. If a bank response is delayed, check the candidate login and official instructions before paying again; duplicate payments or a failed transaction should be resolved through the portal’s stated process. Do not rely on a payment screenshot as proof that the application has been submitted.
Corrections and confirmation page
The 2026 bulletin separated non-editable primary registration information from other application details. Name, father’s name, mother’s name, domicile and date of birth could not be corrected. Other information could be edited only by logging in during the correction period announced by the Board. The Board would not accept correction requests after that period and would not make changes on behalf of a candidate. The bulletin did not itself establish a reusable correction date for later cycles; use the date in the current official notice.
This is why a correction window is not a substitute for careful registration. Review the primary details before submitting the first registration. Then check academic information, category and supporting declarations before paying. If the Board announces a correction period, read the list of editable fields and save the updated confirmation page after any permitted change. Do not assume that every mistake can be fixed because the portal displays a correction link.
After the application steps and fee payment, the candidate must download the confirmation page. WBJEEB explicitly states that the application is incomplete until the page is generated. Save a local copy with the application number and retain the original file, because the bulletin says the confirmation page cannot be downloaded after the examination is over. Keep the password private and store the admit card and rank card separately when they are later released.
A safe application checklist
When the next WBJEE registration notice appears, use this order:
- Confirm the cycle and official application link from WBJEEB.
- Read the current bulletin for eligibility, documents, image formats, fee and correction rules.
- Enter primary identity details against your records before submitting registration.
- Save the application number and keep the password private.
- Complete academic, domicile, category and other declaration fields carefully.
- Choose reachable examination zones in the requested order.
- Upload the required photograph and signature in the current file format.
- Pay the fee through an available official mode and confirm the payment status in the candidate login.
- Download and save the confirmation page; do not treat payment alone as completion.
- If a correction window is announced, check which fields are editable and complete changes before the stated deadline.
The 2026 application window shown on WBJEEB’s page ran from 10 March to 8 April 2026. That schedule has ended. No 2027 dates or registration fee were listed on the official WBJEE page checked on 27 October 2026. Start with the current official bulletin when it appears, and keep the 2026 information above labelled as historical context rather than copying it into a future application calendar.
Applicants should also use the official portal reached from the Board’s own WBJEE page, rather than a search advertisement or an old bookmarked application URL. The portal for a new cycle may be activated only when the Board publishes that cycle’s notice. Check that the cycle year on the bulletin, application form and payment screen agrees before entering personal information or paying.
