IIHMR University admissions: eligibility, tests and selection for 2027-28
IIHMR University’s current admissions pages describe entry routes for its MBA programmes and Master of Public Health (MPH). The general eligibility page now refers to evidence being submitted by September 2027, while some programme pages still show September 2026. Treat the general page as the most current wording captured for this guide, but confirm the final date for your programme in the live application portal before you submit. The public pages reviewed do not establish a single application closing date for every programme. MBA Eligibility Criteria · MBA-HHM programme
Start with the programme you intend to apply for
The standard full-time MBA tracks listed by the university are Hospital and Health Management, Pharmaceutical Management and Healthcare Analytics. Its general eligibility page also names Development Management and MPH. The entrance-test and selection page labels MBA-HHM, Pharmaceutical Management, Development Management, Healthcare Analytics and MPH together for the GD and PI procedure. Check the active programme and application form for your intake because the profile’s current key-programme list and older page navigation do not always use the same set of labels. For the MBA programmes and the university’s MPH, the published baseline is a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA. The page lists 45% for applicants in the SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD categories. It says final-year bachelor’s students may apply if they provide evidence that they meet the minimum by September 2027. The page does not explain every grading conversion, backlog case or category-document requirement. Use your official marksheets to calculate the aggregate, and ask admissions how it will assess your specific transcript if the total is not a straightforward percentage. MBA Eligibility Criteria
Entrance-test routes for MBA applicants
The university lists CAT, XAT, NMAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA and CUET-PG among the national test scores it accepts for MBA admission. GPAT is also listed for Pharmaceutical Management. The general eligibility page says IIHMR University conducts IIHMRU-MAT and GD-PI for MBA applicants who do not have one of the listed CAT, XAT, NMAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA or CUET-PG scores. The selection page adds an important qualification: it states a minimum 50th percentile or qualifying score for the listed national tests, and says candidates below that level must appear for IIHMRU-MAT. That is a threshold for the test route described on the page; it is not a guarantee of admission or a published programme-wise competitive cutoff. MBA Eligibility Criteria · MBA Admission Process
Do not assume that all tests are interchangeable for every programme. The selection page explicitly identifies GPAT for Pharmaceutical Management. For the other MBA programmes, follow the listed alternatives and confirm how a particular score is applied to your selected track. The university’s pages do not publish a separate required percentile for Hospital and Health Management, Pharmaceutical Management or Healthcare Analytics, nor do they state that holding a qualifying score waives the later interview stages. IIHMRU-MAT: format and 2027 terms
The MBA-HHM page describes IIHMRU-MAT as a 2.5-hour aptitude assessment with five sections: language comprehension, quantitative aptitude, data analysis, logical reasoning, and critical reasoning and general awareness. It says each section contains 30 questions. The page lists up to three attempts, comprising an initial attempt and two retakes. For the 2027 test, it states a ₹500 non-refundable registration fee, separate from the MBA/MPH application fee, and ₹500 for each retake. It also says the test can be rescheduled without an additional fee. These details are page-stated terms, not a substitute for the active test portal; check the current registration page for available dates and any revised instructions before paying. Use the test route that matches both your programme and application record. The general eligibility page says candidates without a national test score can apply through IIHMRU-MAT and GD-PI. The selection page says candidates below the minimum score on a national test must take IIHMRU-MAT. The programme page separately explains its own test registration and retake terms. If you already hold a national score, ask admissions whether you should also register for IIHMRU-MAT; the public pages do not clearly say that every candidate with a national score must sit both tests. How selection is scored
IIHMR University’s selection page assigns 35 points to the entrance test, 30 to graduation marks, 15 to group discussion and 20 to personal interview, for a maximum of 100. It says eligible applicants are invited to GD and PI and that the final decision considers qualifying examination performance along with the proportional entrance score, GD and interview. Bring original documents to the interview, as the page directs. The published weights explain the components of the selection process; they do not reveal the applicant pool’s score distribution, the number of interview calls, or the score needed for a seat in a particular MBA track. MBA Admission Process
The stated 50th-percentile or qualifying-score rule should therefore be read separately from the 100-point selection calculation. A candidate may satisfy the minimum test route and still need to perform well across graduation marks, discussion and interview. The pages reviewed do not provide a programme-wise merit list, waitlist movement rule or final cut-off. Avoid relying on an unofficial estimate as a confirmed IIHMR threshold. If you need a minimum to decide whether to apply, request the latest written programme-specific guidance from admissions. MBA Admission Process
Final-year applicants and document timing
The general eligibility page permits final-year applicants, provided they furnish evidence of meeting the minimum marks by September 2027. Some current MBA programme pages retain older September 2026 wording. Because the difference affects whether a provisional applicant can complete enrollment, check the exact requirement for your programme and admission cycle directly with the university, and retain the written response. Do not rely on the old date or assume that the newer date applies unchanged to every programme. The selection page also asks candidates to bring original documents at interview; prepare the originals and copies required by the live call letter rather than treating the webpage as a complete checklist. The pages reviewed do not specify a universal application deadline, a detailed list of documents for every category, how percentage conversion is handled for each university, or the dates of every GD/PI round. They also do not state a refund rule for the standard application fee in this general eligibility material. Use the university’s live application page and programme-specific notice for these operational details. If a category concession applies, confirm the certificate format and submission deadline before paying or uploading documents. MBA Eligibility Criteria · MBA Admission Process
The Johns Hopkins-cooperation MPH is a separate route
The general eligibility page describes the MPH offered by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in cooperation with IIHMR University as a separate programme. It lists a bachelor’s degree, at least two years of full-time health-related experience, prior college-level mathematics and biology courses, and a health-related course. It says work experience is waived for PhD and MBBS graduates. It also asks for demonstrated English proficiency and evidence of quantitative and verbal skills through GRE, MCAT, LSAT or GMAT. Applicants with degrees beyond a bachelor’s degree may request a standardized-test waiver based on other evidence of quantitative ability. These are the page’s stated conditions for the cooperative MPH; do not transfer them to IIHMR’s own MPH or the MBA programmes. Ask the programme office which tests, transcript records and proof of experience it currently accepts. MBA Eligibility Criteria
PhD applicants should use the separate doctoral notice
The university’s eligibility page gives a separate baseline for the PhD programme: a master’s degree or equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks, with a listed 5% relaxation for specified categories. It separately describes a part-time route and requires a no-objection certificate from an employed candidate’s organisation that confirms permission to study, adequate time for research and possible release for coursework. This is not the MBA selection process. PhD applicants should use the current doctoral admission notice for entrance, proposal, interview and application-calendar details; those details are not fully set out on the general MBA admissions page. Before you submit
Confirm your programme name and award, verify which entrance score is accepted for that track, and check the current 2027-28 deadline and document list in the application portal. If you use IIHMRU-MAT, verify its current test date, registration charge and retake availability. If you apply to the cooperative MPH or PhD, follow its distinct eligibility page rather than the MBA route. The captured pages give a useful structure for planning, but the September 2027 versus September 2026 date inconsistency should be resolved before you rely on a final-year completion timeline. Keep a copy of the live notice and any programme-office answer that affects your eligibility.
