IIHMR University is a postgraduate research university in Jaipur whose academic identity centres on health management, public health, pharmaceutical management and related research. When comparing it with a broad-based business school, the useful question is whether you want management training built around health systems and healthcare organisations. The university’s history has two dates: its sponsoring body, the Indian Institute of Health Management Research, began in 1984; the university itself was established under the Rajasthan Act in 2014. University profile
The university lists five schools: the Institute of Health Management Research, School of Pharmaceutical Management, ML Mehta School of Development Studies, SD Gupta School of Public Health and School of Digital Health. Its current programme pages list three full-time MBA options: Hospital and Health Management, Pharmaceutical Management and Healthcare Analytics. It also lists a Master of Public Health, an MPH offered by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in cooperation with IIHMR University, and doctoral study. The Johns Hopkins programme is a distinct collaborative offering; do not assume it has the same award or fee terms as IIHMR’s own MPH. University profile · MBA-HHM · MBA-Pharmaceutical Management · MBA-Healthcare Analytics · MPH
The MBA-Hospital and Health Management page describes a two-year, full-time programme for roles across hospitals, healthcare organisations and health systems. Its curriculum covers management foundations alongside health policy and delivery systems, epidemiology, health economics, national health programmes and hospital services. The Pharmaceutical Management programme combines management with pharmaceutical-industry subjects, while Healthcare Analytics focuses on analytics and data-informed decisions in health settings. Check each programme page for the detailed current curriculum and internship or dissertation structure rather than treating the labels as interchangeable. MBA-HHM · MBA-Pharmaceutical Management · MBA-Healthcare Analytics
The published MBA-HHM structure moves from management, health policy and health-care delivery, epidemiology, biostatistics and demography in the first year to clinical and support services, materials and equipment, hospital planning, disaster management and quality in the second. The Pharmaceutical Management curriculum combines core management with pharmacology, therapeutic management, intellectual property, pharmaceutical regulation and marketing. Healthcare Analytics lists statistical reasoning, database management, healthcare finance analytics, supply-chain analytics, data analysis, visualisation and Python. These outlines show that the three MBA titles lead into distinct academic tracks; compare the curriculum and intended work setting, not just the common MBA label. MBA-HHM curriculum · Pharmaceutical Management curriculum · Healthcare Analytics curriculum
The three programme pages also describe a two-month summer internship after the first year. This is a curricular element intended to connect coursework with organisational practice, but the public pages do not provide a placement guarantee, employer allocation, or a conversion rate to full-time offers. Treat it as part of the programme design rather than a promised job outcome. Confirm the current internship calendar and evaluation requirements with the school before enrollment. MBA-HHM internship · Pharmaceutical Management internship · Healthcare Analytics internship
The university’s general eligibility page says applicants to the MBA programmes and MPH need a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate marks, or 45% for the listed SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD categories. Final-year students may apply if they provide evidence of meeting the requirement by September 2027. The page lists CAT, XAT, NMAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA and CUET-PG scores, with IIHMRU-MAT as an option for candidates without those scores. The selection-process page describes a 100-point assessment: entrance test 35, graduation marks 30, group discussion 15 and personal interview 20. It states a minimum 50-percentile or qualifying score for national tests, with IIHMRU-MAT required for candidates below that level. GPAT is specified for Pharmaceutical Management. Check the programme and current admission notice before applying; some programme pages still carry older 2026 wording for final-year evidence dates. Eligibility criteria · Admission process
The university says applicants without one of the accepted national entrance scores may use IIHMRU-MAT for the MBA programmes, followed by group discussion and personal interview. Its current programme page describes the aptitude assessment as 2.5 hours and lists language comprehension, quantitative aptitude, data analysis, logical reasoning, and critical reasoning and general awareness. It says the 2027 test may be attempted up to three times: one initial sitting and two retakes. The page lists a separate, non-refundable ₹500 registration fee and a ₹500 retake fee. The programme page also says the test may be rescheduled without an additional fee. These are page-stated terms for the 2027 test; check the application portal for any later changes before paying or booking. IIHMRU-MAT details
There are two separate decisions in the selection description. First, the published process assigns 35 points to the entrance score, 30 to graduation marks, 15 to group discussion and 20 to personal interview. Second, the same page states a minimum 50th percentile or qualifying score in a national test, with candidates below that mark required to take IIHMRU-MAT. The weights are not a promised admission cutoff, and the test page should not be read as confirming that every candidate who reaches 50 percentile will be admitted. For Pharmaceutical Management, the selection page includes GPAT among accepted tests; verify whether and how that exam is treated for the specific intake. Selection process
Current programme pages display fee schedules labelled 2026-2027. They list ₹13.5 lakh for MBA-Hospital and Health Management, ₹12 lakh for MBA-Pharmaceutical Management and ₹8.5 lakh for MBA-Healthcare Analytics, with hostel charges additional for students who opt for university accommodation. These are the totals shown on those pages, not a confirmed 2027-29 fee quote. There is also a detail to resolve in writing: the MBA-HHM description lays out six terms, while its published fee table has five installment rows. Ask admissions for the complete term-by-term amount and any compulsory charges before comparing total costs. MBA-HHM fee schedule · MBA-Pharmaceutical Management fee schedule · MBA-Healthcare Analytics fee schedule
The three 2026-2027 schedules divide the stated total into five equal tuition installments. The displayed term amounts are ₹2.70 lakh for each MBA-HHM installment, ₹2.40 lakh for Pharmaceutical Management and ₹1.70 lakh for Healthcare Analytics; the pages also show additional per-term amounts in US dollars and due dates. The schedules state that hostel charges are additional and that the hostel amount is paid in advance, but they do not put a hostel total into these programme tables. Treat the INR totals above as the published programme-fee totals, not the full residential cost. The five-row table is especially worth clarifying for MBA-HHM because the programme structure page presents a six-term course. Ask the admissions office to confirm how the last term is funded and whether any other compulsory academic or one-time charges sit outside the table. MBA-HHM fee schedule · Pharmaceutical Management fee schedule · Healthcare Analytics fee schedule
The published scholarship policy is for academic session 2026-28. It lists 312 merit scholarships across MBA-HHM, MBA-Pharmaceutical Management, MBA-Healthcare Analytics and MPH, with per-student amounts of ₹1 lakh or ₹60,000 depending on programme. It separately lists 12 full-tuition scholarships for eligible SC/ST/OBC-NC/EWS students. Awards depend on the policy’s academic and admission criteria, available places and selection process; meeting a threshold does not guarantee an award. Confirm the policy and available awards for the intake you apply to. Scholarship policy · Scholarship terms
The merit policy uses different entrance-score thresholds by programme, social category and prior degree. For example, its table gives a general-category threshold of 80 percentile for an MBA-HHM applicant with another bachelor’s degree, compared with 75 for MBA-Pharmaceutical Management and Healthcare Analytics; the SC/ST/OBC-NC/EWS row gives 50 for each of those three programmes in that prior-degree category. The policy also has separate, higher rows for applicants with MBBS or BDS/AYUSH/BPT qualifications. It is therefore unsafe to reduce scholarship eligibility to one campus-wide cutoff. The university’s terms say scholarships are limited, awarded on a first-come basis at the Admission Committee’s discretion, and are not guaranteed to every eligible candidate. Confirm both the correct category row and remaining award availability with admissions. The 312 merit awards are distributed by programme in the policy table: 150 for MBA-HHM, 90 for Pharmaceutical Management, 36 for Healthcare Analytics and 36 for MPH. The separate 12 full-tuition awards are split as four each for MBA-HHM and Pharmaceutical Management, and two each for Healthcare Analytics and MPH. These are published policy allocations for 2026-28, not a promise that every place remains open for a later application. Merit scholarship criteria · Scholarship terms
The university’s NIRF 2026 submission reports outcomes for its PG two-year programmes as a group, not for an individual MBA specialisation. For 2024-25 it reports 225 graduates in minimum time, 218 placed and a median salary of ₹7.2 lakh; for 2023-24, 212 graduates, 205 placed and a ₹7 lakh median. The placed-to-graduate ratios are 96.9% and 96.7%, respectively, calculated from those reported counts. These are historical, university-submitted programme-group figures, not a promise or a current MBA-HHM placement rate. The same NIRF 2026 table reports 200 graduates and 187 placed in 2022-23, with a median of ₹6.38 lakh. Across the three reported cohorts, the medians shown are ₹6.38 lakh, ₹7 lakh and ₹7.2 lakh; the counts placed are 187 of 200, 205 of 212 and 218 of 225. Those ratios are calculations from the submitted counts, not percentages stated by the university. The NIRF table labels these as PG two-year programmes and does not split the outcomes by MBA specialisation. Use the annual cohort and group scope whenever comparing the figures; do not treat them as the result for one course or as an individual salary expectation. NIRF 2026 submitted data Separately, the 2024-25 annual report says the highest package offered reached ₹35.6 lakh per annum. A highest offer and a median describe different parts of the outcome distribution; the annual-report statement does not provide a programme breakdown or denominator. NIRF 2026 submitted data · Annual Report 2024-25
The NIRF document is an institutional data submission, not itself a published NIRF rank table. This overview therefore does not repeat the old numeric rank band without a category-and-edition-matched ranking result. Use the Rankings page only when the relevant publisher’s named IIHMR row and year are available. NIRF 2026 submitted data
The university lists its address as 1 Prabhu Dayal Marg, near Sanganer Airport, Jaipur. Its campus-life page links to the library, computer lab, recreation facilities and sports facilities, and shows campus buildings and a hostel among its images. The page does not establish current hostel availability, room allocation, rules or charges. Verify those details directly if residential accommodation is part of your decision. Campus life
For a good comparison, match the same programme, intake, fee basis and placement denominator across institutions. IIHMR’s specialization can be a fit for applicants targeting health systems, hospitals, pharma or public health; its own published reports also show why a headline highest package should not replace median and cohort figures. Before paying an application fee, confirm the award title, complete fee schedule, accommodation and the applicable selection rules with the admissions office.

The university’s published pages describe its own health-management, pharmaceutical-management and healthcare-analytics programmes, but do not establish a like-for-like comparison that makes it universally better than TISS. Compare the curriculum, total cost, admission route and programme-scoped outcomes that matter to your goals. Ask both institutions for current details before deciding.
The official source reviewed does not publish an MBA-HHM-only average package. The institute-submitted NIRF 2026 table reports PG two-year group medians of ₹6.38 lakh for 2022-23, ₹7 lakh for 2023-24 and ₹7.2 lakh for 2024-25, with placed and graduating counts. Those figures are not an average or an MBA-HHM-only outcome. The 2024-25 annual report separately gives a ₹35.6 lakh highest-offer statement without a programme denominator.
Yes. The general eligibility page says a graduate from any discipline may apply, subject to the listed aggregate-mark threshold. The official pages reviewed do not state that about 30% of a typical cohort comes from non-medical backgrounds, or describe a special preparatory term. Ask admissions about the current cohort profile and academic support if you are changing fields.
The university describes this as a Master of Public Health offered by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in cooperation with IIHMR University. The public programme page does not by itself establish the awarding-body documentation or a jurisdiction-specific equivalency. Ask both institutions which organisation issues the degree and what official documents are provided for your intended use in India.
Yes. The official selection page lists CMAT among the accepted test routes and states a minimum 50th percentile or qualifying score for the named national entrance tests; applicants below that level are directed to IIHMRU-MAT. The 50th-percentile condition is a minimum route requirement in the source, not a programme-wise competitive cutoff or admission guarantee. Confirm the current test and intake instructions with admissions.
