Start with the B.E. or B.Tech programme you want, then check its admission route, full cost and campus. A college name alone is not a shortlist. The directory above puts known undergraduate engineering options first; its position is a starting point for research, not an official counselling preference order.
Already have a JEE Main rank? Use the JEE Main College Predictor to build the JoSAA side of your shortlist. Keep Pune CAP choices in a separate list so you compare the right evidence for each application.
The official Maharashtra engineering portal brings together participating institutes, seat matrices and separate Maharashtra and All India cutoff lists. Check the list that matches your candidature. Do not read a Maharashtra merit number as a JEE Main All India Rank.
For the standard Physics-and-Mathematics eligibility route, the 2026-27 brochure lists PCM MHT-CET for Maharashtra State candidature. Its All India route allows the specified JEE Main or PCM MHT-CET scores, with preference for a non-zero positive JEE Main score. These are different pathways, not interchangeable scores. Other subject and entry routes have their own conditions. Read the official brochure, printed pages 16-18 for your case.
Use this five-check comparison before ordering choices:
Open the relevant college profiles above and use Compare colleges to bring shortlisted options together. Where a field is missing, keep a short question beside it. This produces a useful family discussion: what is known, what would change the decision, and who will check it.
Create one row per college-programme-campus combination. Add columns for admission route, evidence date, total budget, travel or hostel plan, and the reason you would choose it. Put a question mark beside unresolved items instead of filling gaps from memory.
For example, suppose you prefer Computer Engineering at one campus but would also accept Electronics at another. Compare those two programmes directly. Do not put the second college above the first solely because its institution-wide placement headline is larger. Decide which course and cost you would willingly accept before using historical cutoffs to judge the shortlist's range.
Keep an ambitious group, a plausible group and alternatives you would genuinely join. These are planning labels, not admission probabilities. If an option fails your budget or course requirements, a favourable historical cutoff does not make it a useful choice.
Admission Guardian's JEE tool helps compare supported NIT, IIIT and GFTI options using JoSAA evidence. It is not a Maharashtra CAP allotment calculator. The JoSAA authority's overview identifies its separate participating system.
Start with three distinct college previews. The continuation stays blurred until you provide your name and mobile number and verify by OTP. You can then inspect the deeper personalised shortlist while keeping your CAP research alongside it. The public directory remains available for broad discovery.
Reopen the official programme notice, fee schedule and admission instructions. Verify the current round, required documents, payment destination and what acceptance means for your other choices. Keep the acknowledgement and the exact preference list you submitted. A directory or predictor helps you prepare; the authority's recorded application is the one that counts.

No. First identify the college, programme and admission route. CAP candidature and score rules differ, and some institutions use their own process. A JEE Main result can be relevant without replacing a separate counselling registration. Check the official notice for the exact seat you want.
Keep them separate. A percentile and an All India Rank are different measures, and CAP lists also identify their own merit and seat context. Copy the label, year and round with each cutoff. Compare your result only with the matching measure in the relevant official list.
Use the same cost period and the exact programme at each institution. Add compulsory charges, accommodation, food and travel to tuition, and record refundable deposits separately. Check scholarship conditions before deducting them. Missing fee data should remain an unresolved question, not a zero-cost option in your comparison.
The JEE tool's supported college predictions use JoSAA evidence, not Maharashtra CAP allotments. Use it for the supported NIT, IIIT and GFTI side of your planning. For Pune CAP programmes, use the State CET Cell's relevant cutoff lists and the institution's current admission information alongside your shortlist.
