MAH MBA/MMS CET counselling and CAP: separate admission steps
MAH MBA/MMS CET is the entrance examination; the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) is the separate admission route. The State CET Cell’s 2026–27 CAP index lists MBA/MMS under Technical Education postgraduate courses and links a course-specific portal. A candidate who has completed the CET application should therefore continue checking the MBA/MMS CAP instructions after the result. This page does not imply that a 2027–28 CAP schedule has been published; the current-cycle dates and rules were not in the official material checked on 27 October 2026.
The CET Cell’s official notices direct candidates and institutes to the respective course admission portal for current CAP notices, circulars, information brochures, helplines and admission updates. Use the current MBA/MMS portal rather than a schedule for another course. The linked 2026 MBA/MMS portal was not accessible through the opened page during research, so this guide does not publish a round calendar or a detailed 2027–28 workflow.
What the 2026 notices establish
The CET Cell issued an admission notice saying online application form filling for MBA/MMS admission in academic year 2026–27 commenced on 2 July 2026. That is a historical start date, not a forecast for the next CAP. The 2026 examination brochure also directs candidates to a CAP brochure for admission eligibility and lists category documents to be submitted with the CAP application where applicable. These facts show that exam registration and admission registration are separate, and that CAP has its own eligibility and documentation rules.
The exact current sequence must be taken from the current portal. When it is posted, follow the official instructions for CAP registration, document upload or verification, merit publication, choice or option form, seat allotment, acceptance and institute reporting. Check whether each item applies to your candidature and round. Do not infer that a step is complete because an earlier page says your CET scorecard is available.
Prepare for CAP without guessing the schedule
Before the portal opens, organise documents that may be needed: degree marksheets and certificate, identity details, scorecard, and category or candidature certificates if applicable. This is a preparation list, not a definitive document checklist; use the current CAP brochure for exact requirements, formats, validity periods and verification stage. The 2026 exam brochure’s NCL validity date ended 31 March 2027 for its cycle and should not be carried into 2027–28.
Keep your candidate login details private and save each form, payment receipt and confirmation. If the portal shows an incomplete verification, read the official notice for the correction route and deadline. Do not send original certificates to an unofficial agent or rely on a social-media post as proof that a document has been accepted. If a category claim, domicile condition or equivalence issue is unclear, use the CET Cell’s course-specific help channel early enough to act on the answer.
Build and submit a preference list carefully
Once the current institute and programme list is published, confirm the exact institute name, code, programme and location for each choice. The 2026 CET brochure describes score-based admissions for approved and recognised Maharashtra management institutes affiliated to a non-agricultural university, and identifies government institutes, university departments, university-managed institutes and covered unaided institutes. That broad scope does not replace the current participating institute and seat list.
Compare preferences using the information relevant to your decision: programme curriculum, location, official fee disclosure, available seat or category information, and verified historic cutoff records with their year and round. A preference list is not a prediction. Do not rank choices only by a past cutoff or an unsupported placement claim. Read the current option-form rules to learn whether choices can be reordered, locked or edited and the consequence of not submitting before the deadline.
After allotment, read the complete official communication. Confirm whether the allotted seat, category, round and programme match your submission; then follow the published acceptance and reporting instructions. Keep the allotment letter, fee receipt and institute acknowledgment. If you wish to seek a different preference in a later round, follow the current rules about participation and seat status rather than assuming that a previous choice remains active automatically.
Follow official cycle notices
The 2026–27 CAP index is a navigation page, not proof of a 2027–28 timetable. As of 27 October 2026, the sources opened for this guide do not establish the next cycle’s registration start, verification dates, merit-list release, option entry window, allotment rounds or reporting deadline. Avoid entering estimated dates in a personal calendar as if they were official. Mark each item “not announced” until a dated notice or live MBA/MMS portal confirms it.
Begin from the State CET Cell’s CAP index and choose the MBA/MMS link for the active academic year. Also monitor the CET Cell’s official notices page for updates directing candidates to course portals. If a link is unavailable, return through the official index or use the CET Cell’s course-specific helpdesk; do not rely on an old portal URL from a search result.
Exam score is only one part of admission
A CET score is an input to the CAP process, not a seat offer. Final selection depends on the rules and seat information in the current admission cycle, the candidate’s eligibility and documents, preferences and allotment process. The 2026 brochure’s exam pattern and result calculation should not be confused with the current admission brochure. Keep the exam, scorecard and CAP stages separate in your checklist and follow each one’s official instructions.
