Official source →MAH MBA/MMS CET is the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell’s computer-based entrance examination for first-year, full-time MBA and MMS admissions. The latest opened examination brochure is for the 2026 test and 2026–27 admissions, not the upcoming 2027–28 cycle. It says scores are used for eligible management institutes in Maharashtra that are government-approved and recognised and affiliated to a non-agricultural university in the state. The listed institution types are government management institutes, university departments, university-managed institutes and covered unaided institutes. The test is therefore one part of an admission route, not a guarantee of a seat at every MBA college in Maharashtra. Check whether a specific programme and seat is part of the current year’s Centralised Admission Process (CAP) before treating CET participation as sufficient.
The State CET Cell is responsible for conducting the examination. For the 2026–27 admission year, the CET Cell’s current CAP index lists MBA/MMS separately under Technical Education postgraduate courses and links to its course-specific admission portal. That separation matters: exam registration, the exam scorecard, CAP registration, merit and seat-allotment steps are distinct tasks. A candidate who takes the test should continue following the MBA/MMS CAP portal and notices; an exam score alone does not complete admission.
As checked on 27 October 2026, the opened official examination brochure and CAP index describe the 2026 examination or the 2026–27 admission cycle. They do not establish the 2027–28 examination schedule, application window, fee, syllabus changes, attempt structure, CAP dates or eligibility rules. Do not reuse last year’s dates as a prediction. The CET Cell publishes current brochures, notices, examination information and admission links on cetcell.mahacet.org; the MBA/MMS course page and the separate CAP index are the useful starting points. When a 2027–28 brochure appears, treat that document as controlling and compare every detail against the prior-year summary below.
The current official CAP index is labelled 2026–27 and includes an MBA/MMS entry under postgraduate Technical Education. Its purpose here is to show where the course-specific admission route is placed, not to imply that the 2027–28 portal or dates are already available. Some linked portals require browser scripts or session access; if a course page does not load, return through the CET Cell’s own CAP index rather than relying on an old search result, an unofficial mirror or a coaching-site date table.
For the 2026 examination, the brochure allowed a candidate with a bachelor’s degree of at least three years from a UGC- or AIU-recognised university in any discipline to appear, with at least 50% aggregate marks. It specified 45% for backward-class, EWS and PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only. Candidates appearing in the final-year bachelor’s examination could also take the CET. The brochure defines aggregate marks by the subjects used by the university to declare the degree class, says a university’s certified conversion process should be used for CGPA or grades, and rounds the percentage to two decimal places.
These are prior-cycle test-appearance rules, not a complete 2027–28 admission eligibility checklist. The 2026 brochure itself says eligibility for admission is as per the previous year’s CAP brochure. That caveat is important for candidates relying on a category-based threshold, an equivalent qualification, a final-year result or a non-standard degree. Before applying, read the new examination brochure and the new MBA/MMS CAP information brochure together. Check domicile or Maharashtra-state conditions, category documents, degree completion and any programme-specific conditions against the applicable CAP rules; do not infer them from the exam application alone.
If your university reports CGPA, ask its examination office which conversion rule is officially certified and retain the evidence. Do not convert the CGPA using a formula found on another institution’s website. For candidates still in the final year, the practical question is not only whether the exam form permits an appearance; it is also whether the degree result and documents will be ready by the CAP verification deadline. The current-cycle brochure and CAP schedule must answer that later question.
The 2026 brochure described an online English-language test with 200 multiple-choice questions, five answer options per question, one mark each and 150 minutes. Its section distribution was 75 Logical Reasoning, 25 Abstract Reasoning, 50 Quantitative Aptitude and 50 Verbal Ability/Reading Comprehension. It stated that there was no negative marking. Those details are a historical baseline for 2026, not a promise that the 2027 paper will have the same blueprint.
The distribution has a clear preparation implication if the next brochure retains it: Logical Reasoning carried the largest share at 75 of 200 questions, while Abstract Reasoning contributed 25 and the remaining two areas contributed 50 each. This is a count-based comparison from the published question allocation, not a forecast of difficulty or a guarantee about score impact. A candidate should first learn the new paper’s section weights and marking rules, then use timed practice to decide where additional work is valuable. Do not choose a strategy on the assumption that a familiar past paper pattern must continue.
The brochure’s syllabus outline is broad rather than a chapter-wise list. Logical and Abstract Reasoning may use figures, diagrams and verbal reasoning. Quantitative Aptitude covers numerical calculations and arithmetic such as ratio, proportion and percentages, as well as interpretation of tables, common graphs and charts. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension covers passages and questions on their contents, grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms and appropriate words or expressions. The brochure’s sample questions also illustrate arithmetic computation and data interpretation. Use these as topic families from the 2026 document; do not treat them as an exhaustive 2027 syllabus or as a prediction of the questions.
A useful preparation plan is to establish a baseline in all four areas before allocating time. Track accuracy and time separately: a correct answer reached after excessive time can still signal a pacing problem, while a fast guess is not reliable progress. Practice reading a passage for its central point and evidence, checking arithmetic rather than relying on mental shortcuts, and translating a chart into the quantity the question asks for. For reasoning sets, make the relationships visible on paper during practice and review which constraint you missed. These are study methods, not instructions issued by the CET Cell.
The 2026 brochure described first and second attempts in multiple shifts. It said percentiles would be calculated from raw marks and that a candidate who appeared in both attempts would have the better of the two percentile scores considered for 2026–27 admission. A percentile is not the same as a percentage of questions answered correctly. The brochure did not set the 2026 result date in advance; it said the date would be notified separately. The later cycle’s attempt count, normalisation method, best-score treatment and result timetable must be confirmed from its own brochure and notices.
If the next cycle again offers more than one attempt, compare the official fee for one versus both attempts and check whether the second attempt is a separate booking or part of one application. Do not assume the prior-year fee or score rule is unchanged. Keep the candidate login credentials and application number secure, and download each official scorecard when available. For CAP, use the precise score or percentile field requested by the portal rather than transcribing a coaching estimate or an unofficial rank predictor.
For 2026, the brochure listed a processing fee of ₹1,500 for the open category, candidates from outside Maharashtra and J&K migrants, and ₹1,300 for specified Maharashtra-state backward-class, EWS and PwD categories, as well as orphan and transgender candidates. It listed ₹3,000 and ₹2,600 respectively for choosing both 2026 attempts. Payment was online; applicable service charges were additional, and the examination fee was non-refundable and non-transferable. These are 2026 examination figures only. The 2027–28 form may set different fees, categories or attempt choices, so check the current brochure before paying.
The 2026 brochure called for accurate, verifiable candidate information and described Aadhaar and APAAR verification through DigiLocker. It advised candidates to keep relevant documents ready. Its photograph specification was a colour 50 mm by 50 mm image between 100 KB and 5 MB, with the full face visible and a plain light or white background; the same brochure gives further framing and image-quality instructions. Follow the new form’s upload rules rather than relying on a saved image from a previous application. A mismatch in identity details can delay verification or affect the application, so check spelling and identifiers before final submission.
For candidates seeking a category-based CAP benefit, the brochure listed caste, caste-validity and non-creamy-layer documents where applicable, with the NCL certificate valid through 31 March 2027 for the 2026–27 process. It also mentioned EWS and PwD certificates where applicable. That validity date belongs to the 2026–27 process and must not be carried into 2027–28. Check the next CAP brochure for document types, issuing authority, validity period, upload format and verification stage. In particular, a concession in the examination fee does not itself establish reservation eligibility during admission.
Use the CET Cell’s current MBA/MMS CAP portal for admission notices and instructions after the scorecard stage. The official CAP index for 2026–27 lists MBA/MMS as a separate postgraduate course portal. In each admission cycle, follow the posted sequence for CAP application, document verification, merit-list publication, option or preference entry, allotment and reporting only as the actual current portal describes it. This guide does not supply a current round schedule or assert that a particular step is open on 27 October 2026.
Before entering choices, make a short programme-level list. Confirm that each institute and course appears in the official MBA/MMS CAP list for your admission year; compare the exact course name, location, approved intake information if published, fee notice and category/seat rules. CET score participation applies to the institutions described in the exam brochure, but the brochure’s broad institutional categories are not a substitute for a year-specific participating-institute list. A campus’s name in an older list or an aggregator’s college directory does not prove that the same programme is participating now.
When the portal publishes allotment, read the seat type, category, institute and programme against your own option form. Follow the published instructions for accepting or reporting an allotted seat and note each deadline. Keep copies of the application, payment receipt, scorecard, submitted options, document-verification status and allotment communication. The exact process and consequences of non-response can change by cycle, so the official notice should determine what action is due.
The 2026 brochure instructed candidates to bring the hall ticket and a valid original photo identification document, with names matching the application, and listed acceptable identity documents. It said candidates should follow the reporting time on the hall ticket; late arrival after that time was not permitted. Although the examination itself lasted 150 minutes, the brochure said a candidate might need to be at the venue for approximately four hours for login and instructions. Plan travel around the hall-ticket reporting time and the full venue window, not only the paper duration. Centre allocation may not remain the candidate’s preferred centre: the 2026 brochure reserved the authority’s ability to allot another venue in specified circumstances and said centre/date/session changes would not be entertained. Check the next hall ticket for the binding instructions.
The brochure included provisions for candidates with disabilities, but the facility depends on the specified disability and the required process. It described a scribe/reader and compensatory time for eligible candidates, with an additional 20 minutes per hour where applicable, and told candidates to indicate the need during application and carry the required certificate and declaration. It also says the candidate arranges the scribe. Do not assume that every disability category has the same facility. Read the current notice and appendices, contact the CET Cell helpdesk early if the situation is unclear, and retain the submitted request and supporting certificate.
MAH MBA/MMS CET is worth investigating if you want to pursue a full-time management degree through participating Maharashtra institutions and can meet the current exam and CAP requirements. It may be relevant to candidates who want a state-based centralised route as well as those applying from outside Maharashtra; the 2026 brochure included OMS candidates in its exam-fee schedule. That does not determine admission eligibility, seat reservation, or a candidate’s chance at a specific institute. Those questions depend on the applicable CAP rules, category, merit position, choices, seat matrix and round.
The test is not a college-quality ranking and a high percentile does not remove the need to compare programmes. Look at each institution’s current curriculum, fees, location, reporting details and outcome disclosures, using comparable years and cohorts. This overview does not invent cutoffs, placement figures or a ranked college shortlist because those values require their own current, programme-specific sources. For a realistic choice list, combine official CAP information with each institution’s own published fee and programme material, and distinguish verified facts from marketing statements.
The most important planning rule is simple: use the 2026 brochure to understand the route and begin broad preparation, but wait for the 2027–28 notices before making date-, fee-, eligibility- or CAP-specific commitments. The next cycle’s official documents may retain some rules and change others; until they are published, those details remain unannounced rather than predictable.

MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2026 only (AY 2026-27): the brochure described eligibility as a recognised minimum three-year bachelor's degree in any discipline with 50% aggregate, or 45% for Backward Class categories, EWS and PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only; candidates appearing in the final year could also appear. Aggregate is based on the university's class-declaration subjects; CGPA conversion must follow the awarding institution's certified procedure and percentages are rounded to two decimal places. Exam appearance eligibility does not by itself establish CAP admission eligibility; consult the separate admission-year CAP brochure.
