MAH MBA/MMS CET syllabus: what the 2026 brochure actually states
The 2026 MAH MBA/MMS CET brochure gives a broad syllabus outline, not a chapter-by-chapter checklist. It groups the paper into Logical/Abstract Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Verbal Ability/Reading Comprehension, while the paper pattern separates Logical Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning into their own question counts. The official CET Cell syllabus index lists technical-education syllabus material for 2026–27. The next academic year’s detailed syllabus and paper pattern should be checked when the 2027–28 brochure is issued.
Logical and Abstract Reasoning
The brochure says this area is intended to test how quickly and accurately a candidate can think. It may include questions based on figures and diagrams, as well as verbal reasoning. Its sample-paper pages include non-verbal and reasoning material. The document does not provide an exhaustive topic inventory or promise that a named puzzle format will appear in the next examination.
For preparation, practise identifying the rule or constraint a question gives you before selecting an option. In a figure sequence, record what changes between adjacent figures rather than guessing from visual resemblance. For a verbal or arrangement problem, translate each condition into a short note or table and check that the proposed answer satisfies every condition. After a timed set, classify errors as a misread condition, an incomplete inference, a visual pattern error or a time-management decision. This advice is a study method derived from the skills the brochure describes, not an official syllabus expansion.
The 2026 pattern assigned 75 questions to Logical Reasoning and 25 to Abstract Reasoning. These are the 2026 section weights, not a guarantee for 2027–28. A candidate planning from that baseline can give Logical Reasoning substantial practice time while still keeping Abstract Reasoning in the weekly plan. Rebalance only after the new official paper pattern appears.
Quantitative Aptitude
The official 2026 outline mentions working with numbers, numerical calculations and arithmetic problems involving ratio, proportion and percentages. It also calls out quantitative reasoning and interpretation of tables, common graphs and charts. Sample material in the brochure mentions arithmetic computation, percentages, ratio-proportion and applications of basic arithmetic principles, algebra, mensuration and geometry. These references are examples and topic families from the 2026 official document, not a complete chapter list for the next cycle.
Preparation should include both computation and interpretation. For a table or chart, first identify the quantity, unit and comparison the question asks for; then compute only what is necessary. For percentage and ratio problems, write down the base value and units before calculating. For an algebra or geometry question, practise translating the wording into a simple equation or figure. A useful error log separates concept gaps from arithmetic slips and misreading of the data, because each requires a different correction.
Do not assume that every topic named in a sample question has equal weight, or that a topic omitted from a short outline is excluded. The 2026 brochure does not publish a chapter-wise number of questions. Use the current official syllabus when available and treat coaching lists as preparation aids, not as CET Cell policy.
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
The brochure says Reading Comprehension uses passages with questions based on their contents. It identifies grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms and comprehension of passages. It also refers to choosing appropriate words, phrases and expressions. These descriptions support practice in understanding the passage and in using English accurately; they do not provide a fixed number of questions for each subtopic.
For a passage question, distinguish what the passage states from what a reader might believe independently. Return to the relevant sentence or paragraph before choosing an inference. For vocabulary in context, check how the word functions in its sentence rather than memorising a single dictionary meaning. For grammar and sentence completion, review why the chosen phrase fits the structure and meaning. Such methods help build the abilities the 2026 syllabus names without inventing an official topic weight.
In the 2026 pattern, Verbal Ability/Reading Comprehension accounted for 50 of the 200 questions. That count belongs to the 2026 brochure. It should not be treated as a current-cycle promise or as evidence of a fixed cutoff for the section.
How to turn the outline into a study plan
Start by taking a timed diagnostic set from each broad area, using the 2026 outline only as a temporary baseline. Record both accuracy and time. Then practise the weakest skill with focused questions and retest it in a mixed set. For Reasoning, review the logical chain; for Quantitative Aptitude, inspect setup and calculation separately; for Verbal Ability, distinguish comprehension from vocabulary or grammar errors. The aim is to understand why a response was wrong, not just to increase the number of questions attempted.
A balanced weekly plan can rotate all listed skill areas and include mixed practice. Keep a separate note for section weights and exam rules, because those are policy facts that can change. If the 2027–28 brochure changes the number of questions or the scope, update the plan from that document. Do not use an old mock-test timer, third-party topic prediction or question bank label as proof of the official format.
Official sources and limits
The 2026 MAH MBA/MMS CET brochure is the primary syllabus and marking source for the 2026 exam. The CET Cell’s syllabus and marking scheme index lists the technical-education syllabus for 2026–27. Its CET brochure page identifies the 2026 MBA/MMS brochure. These sources describe prior-cycle material, not a final 2027–28 syllabus.
The official 2026 outline is sufficiently broad to organise preparation, but not to promise exact chapters, question types or marks for each topic. Check the next brochure and any later CET Cell notice before treating a topic list, paper weight, duration or marking rule as current. Until then, this page keeps the scope of every official syllabus statement anchored to the year it describes.
