What is B.Ed?

There are several courses at Intermediate, Graduation and Post Graduation level for candidates wishing to become a teacher, in which the most important is Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). B.Ed is very popular among the youth to come to the teaching area. Earlier this course was of one year, which has been increased from 2015 to two years. To do this course, entrance exam has to be given. It is important to have a graduate to give an exam. Many private colleges give admission directly without entrance test, but it is more beneficial to bead than those colleges who enroll under the Entrance Process. Entrance test is conducted every year for B.Ed course. In addition to state level examinations like Haryana, Madhya Pradesh & Maharashtra, IGNOU, Kashi Vidyapeeth, Banaras Hindu University and Delhi University’s B.Ed courses are considered very good. After doing this course, the candidates become eloquent to teach in primary, upper primary and high school.

B.Ed from Haryana

B Ed is now 4 year Course

To improve the level of teacher’s education, now again, the preparations for the change in B.Ed have begun. The first change was done when the course was changed from one year to two years and now it is being prepared to do it from two years to four years.

Although it will be an integrated B.Ed, like LLB and MBA, which will include Graduation also. In such a situation, after the intermediate course, students will be able to enroll directly in it.

Other Teaching Courses

BTC (Basic Training Certificate)

This course is for candidates of Uttar Pradesh only and only students from the state can participate in this. This is also a two-year course. To do this course, entrance exam has to be given. Counseling is done at the district level for this examination. Candidates must have a graduate to take the exam. Also, the age limit for this has been kept for 18-30 years. After doing this course the candidates are eligible to become primary and upper primary level teachers.

NTT (Nursery Teacher Training)

This course is more prevalent in the metros. It is two years old. Admission in this course is given on the basis of the marks of 12th or in many places on the basis of entrance exam. In the entrance examination, questions are asked by Current Affairs, General Studies, Hindi, Reasoning, Teaching Aptitude and English. After doing this course, candidates become eligible to become primary teacher.

B.P.Ed (Bachelor in Physical Education)

A lot of new employment opportunities are being given to teachers in physical education. Private and government schools are extensively restoring physical teachers. There are two types of courses to be educated in this course. Candidates who have studied at the graduate level as a subject of physical education can do one-year B.P.Ed course. At the same time, those who have studied physical education in the 12th can do a three year graduate course.
In its entrance test, a written test along with physical fitness test is also required to be given. After passing the Entrance Test, it is also necessary to qualify for the interview.

JBT (Junior Basic Training)

The minimum qualification for the junior teacher training course is 12th and the admission in this course is based on merit basis and then on the basis of admission test. After doing this course, candidates become eligible to become primary teacher.

D.Ed (Diploma in Education)

This two year course of diploma in education is done to become a primary teacher in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Admission in this course is based on the 12th pass. This course isalso known as D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education).

Scholarship for B.Ed/D.Ed

If a B.Ed or D.Ed student belongs to SC/ST or OBC then he is eligible for scholarship in many states. This scholarship is given through the “Samaj Kalyan Vibhag” or Social Welfare Department of every state. Generally OBC students get Rs. 5,000-10,000/- and SC/ ST students get Rs. 20,000-30,000/- which varies state to state. It can be applied online on the website of the Social Welfare Department. Every student has to provide his bank details too. Scholarship comes directly into the student’s bank account. Also in many cases the institutes/colleges help Meritorious and Deserving students with scholarships which are normally in the form of fee waiver for which one can apply to the college.

Exams to Become a Teacher

Just to do the courses in teaching is not enough to become a teacher but some exams are also to be qualified. Some of the important examinations in the field of teaching are –

  1. TGT and PGT: This examination is organized at the state level. Mainly in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi this test is popular. For Graduate and B.Ed for TGT, Post Graduate and B.Ed degrees are required for PGT. TGT pass teachers teach children from class VI to X, and PGT teachers teach secondary and senior secondary students.
  2. TET (Teacher’s Eligibility Test): In many states of India, this examination is organized for those who do B.Ed and D.Ed courses. The High Court of many states has clarified that it is mandatory to pass this examination to become a teacher after B.Ed. Students who cannot participate in this
    examination can get the B.Ed results. After passing this examination, the state government gives a certificate for a few years. This period is mostly five to seven years. During this time the candidate can apply for the recruitment of the teacher.
  3. CTET (Central teachers Eligibility Test) It is necessary to pass this examination to become a teacher in Central School, Capital Area, Delhi, Tibetan School and Navodaya schools. This
    examination is organized by CBSE. Only students with graduate pass and B.Ed degree can participate in this examination. To pass this exam, it is mandatory to get 60 percent marks. After
    passing this examination a candidate is given a certificate which is valid for seven years. However, there is no usefulness of this certificate in state level examination.

  4. UGC NET  To get a lecturer job in any college, it is necessary to pass this examination. This examination is held twice a year in December and June. There are three papers in the net exam. Candidates can take examination in English, Hindi or any medium. In the first paper, questions are asked about General Knowledge, Teaching Aptitude, Reasoning and the subjects selected in second and third paper.

B Ed from Madhya Pradesh

MP B.Ed Entrance Examination is organized every year by the Madhya Pradesh VYAPAM  (also known as Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board)  for admission to the BEd course.    In order to get admission in BEd course, it is necessary that the candidates must appear the entrance examination is conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board in May 2019.

For the MP BEd entrance examination applications can only be made online. Interested candidates can register online by visiting the official site. The official site of MPBED Entrance Examination 2019 is mponline.gov.in.  Student can fill up the required information, upload the required documents, pay the application fees and submit their application. Selection will be based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination.

MP B Ed Eligibility

  • The candidate must have passed at least undergraduate or postgraduate science / social science/arts/ commerce with 50% marks.
  • Any candidates who have graduated in engineering and technology can also apply for MP BEd entrance examination 2019. But the candidate must have passed science and mathematics with 50% marks.
  • The reserved category candidates will be given 5% relaxation in marks. No rounding off marks shall be there means 49.6% shall not be treated at 50%.

MP B Ed Application Form

  • The application will be done online only.
  • MP BEd’s official site is mponline.gov.in. Candidates can apply from here.
  • Candidates will have to fill up their personal information, educational qualification information, and their correct email ID and phone number.
  • Candidates must upload passport size photo and signature.
  • Candidates can pay the application fees only through the online medium (credit card, debit card, and net banking).

MP B Ed Selection Process

For candidates who are going to apply for the MP BEd entrance examination, the selection will be done based on the marks obtained in the merit list issued for the MP BEd course and the marks obtained in the entrance examination.  

MP B Ed Results

 Results will be released on the official site of MP BEd. Merit list will be issued according to the marks obtained in the entrance examination.

MP B Ed Counseling

Selected candidates will be called for counseling.   Candidates will be given the opportunity to choose the Institute of their choice during MP BEd counseling. Candidates will get seats on the basis of the places received in the merit list, selection of the Institute and vacant seats.
