Available Courses in Nursing

ANM (Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery)

To get admission in this course the student must have passed 10+2 in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The duration of this course is 18 months and it is regarded as the basic course in the field of Nursing.

GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery)

For this course, the candidate must have passed with the subject of physics, chemistry, and biology in the 12th standard with at least 40 percent marks. The duration of this course is three and a half years.

B.Sc in Nursing (Basic)

Eligibility for B Sc Nursing is 12th pass with physics, chemistry, and biology and the candidate should have secured at least  45% marks. The duration of this course is of four years.

B.Sc in Nursing (Post Basic)

For the course of this two year period, there should be a GNM degree along with 12th. If there are at least 2 years of experience with 12th and Gnm, then it can be completed in three years through distance learning also from some institutions.

Entrance to B.Sc Nursing Admission

Fees for B.Sc Nursing

Fees for this course are in accordance with different colleges and different states which can be between 1 to 1.5 lakhs. If you take admission in the Government College, you have to pay a lot less than the private colleges.

M.Sc in Nursing

To get admission in MSc (Nursing) a B.Sc degree with 55% marks in Nursing and one year of experience is necessary. The duration of this course is of two years.

What are ANM and GNM

There are two diploma courses in nursing GNM and ANM. These two medical courses also have some similarities. Here we will tell you about these two courses and the post they get.

ANM (Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery)

In this Diploma Course of Assistant Nurses Midwifery, the student is given knowledge about the things used in the treatment, equipment maintenance and use of them during treatment. Only girls can do this course.  it is a 2-year diploma.

Eligibility for ANM

  • Only girls can do this diploma course.
  • To do the course, the age of the student must be at least 17 years and the maximum age is 35 years.
  • Must be qualified in 10 + 2 Arts or Science exam from any recognized board (National Institute Of Open School students are also eligible.)
  • The student should be fit medically.

ANM Staff's Salary

After doing a course of assistant nurse midwife, students can start their own with private sector hospital. Its average salary is about Rs.15000 Per / Month.

GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery)

To become a nurse in the medical field, GNM is a 3-year course. After completing this course, you get the registration certificate from which you become a registered nurse, both boy and girl can do this course. After doing the course you can apply for government jobs and many government hospitals or government institutions also have a nursing vacancy on contract and make them permanent on time.

Eligibility for GNM

  • To get admission in the course, the student must have completed at least 17 years and the maximum age is 35 years.
  • Students should have 12 passes with PCB subjects and he/she must have obtained at least 40 percent marks in English.
  • Students should be medically fit.

GNM Course fees

Fees of GNM course may vary according to the institute which is normally Rs. 70,000 to Rs 1,00,000 from the government college, but at the private institute, the fees is around Rs 2,00,000 for the whole course.

GNM Staff's Salary

The average salary of a staff nurse is Rs. 20000 per month. Depending on the demand and value of a Staff Nurse in government departments and private, their salaries may vary from 15000 to 40000 per month.
