NEET EXAM
On the principle of “One India One Entry Examination”, A Pre-Examination is organized from 2016 for admission in MBBS and BDS for the students of the entire India, which is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET Exam).
Difference between NEET Exam and AIPMT
Prior to 2016, the Medical Entrance Exam was called All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) In which 15 percent MBBS and BDS seats of Government Medical Colleges were filled up as a quota of Government of India. The remaining 85 seats were filled by the state government through their entrance exams, while private colleges were also conducting separate entrance exams.
Why NEET was needed
Before NEET, students had to enter different entrance exams for admission to medical, filling many forms with them, going to different dates and different places had to be forced to give exams. In which the parents and students had to cope with much trouble. As NEET Exam is introduced now there is only one exam and it saves time and money for students. The admission test fee for general and OBC category is ₹1400 while for students of ST and SC category it is only ₹750.
Historical efforts of the government and the court
With the efforts of the Government of India and the Supreme Court of India, a Medical entrance examination for the students of the whole year is being organized successfully from 2016. Corruption in the entrance examination decreased and the problems of the parents were also lessened. You may have heard many controversies related to the fair examination but now there is nothing to do with these disputes. Because it has become a strict law in which all the students will have to undergo this examination, who want to study MBBS or BDS in private or government medical college.
Colleges through NEET Exam
Except for three medical colleges of India (AIIMS, JIPMER and AFMC), Admission in all government and non-governmental medical and dental colleges, is done only by NEET examinations only. Let us tell you that in India the government quota of government medical colleges is 15 percent while the state government quota is 85 percent. Both types of quotes are admissible only for the students who have written proper examination, whether it is the state government quota or the central government’s quota.
Types of NEET Exam
There are two types of medical exams first NEET-UG and the second NEET-PG. NEET- UG exam is organized for admission in MBBS and BDS (Undergraduate) courses, while the NEET-PG exam is organized for the MS and MD (Post Graduate) course. The 2018 medical entrance test will be organized by the CBSE.
- How to fill NEET Exam application form
Candidates must have Aadhaar card for successful completion of the application process. Follow the following tips and fill online form yourself –
- Registration – Register on NEET’s website to fill the application form. Remember password and ID to log in again in the future.
- Filling the application form- You must fill in your personal details, the selection centre, the academic details and address and parent’s details.
- Uploading the document- After filling the above details, you will be asked to upload your passport size photo, signature and left-hand thumb impression.
- fee payment- could be by Debit/credit card, Net Banking, E-wallet of different service providers or by Offline mode through invoices.
- Confirmation page- After successful completion of payment, a confirmation page will be prepared. Print out the page with your proof of payment and send it to CBSE at the following address:

NEET counselling 2024
- Eligible candidates are required to register online in the counselling process.
- Once you have registered online, you can select courses and colleges according to your preference. You can lock it after the selection.
- The seat allocation process is organized in three rounds based on your NEET Exam rank.
Although most institutes follow a centralized consultation process (online central counselling), some may have their own counselling process.
NEET Exam result
Neat Result 2024 will be released in the second or third week of June, which will be released online on its website.
- Who can appear in NEET Exam
NEET Exam 2024 will be held on Sep 13 (Sunday). A student can appear in NEET Exam 2024 entrance exam who meet these criteria –
- Students who have completed their 10 + 2 education with physical science, chemistry and biology and have received a minimum of 50% marks (40% in reserved category) or who have passed the board examination of 2022.
- Minimum age: As on December 31, 2022 or earlier, applicant should be at least 17 years old.
- Maximum age: Applicant should be for 25 years (for unreserved candidates) and for 30 years (scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward classes).
- Nationality: Applicants should be of Indian National or Non-Resident Indian (NRIs), Indian Citizens (OCIs), Person of Indian Origin (PIOs).
- Jammu & Kashmir / AP / Telangana: NEET 2022 candidates from Jammu and Kashmir / AP / Telangana will be entitled to an all-India 15% quota if they present self-declaration.
- Aadhaar card requirement: Indian citizens will have to give Aadhaar details and filling the 18 digit number in the space when filling the application form will be mandatory.

NEET 2024 course
Syllabus of NEET 2024 will be same as 2023, therefore, you can start preparing according to the 2023 syllabus, because there is no change in the curriculum of CBSE Class 11th and 12th standard.
The number of regional languages can also increase in the question paper of NEET 2024. in NEET 2023, there was a question paper in Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. Urdu, Oriya and Kannada languages can be included in 2024.
NEET Exam pattern
The mode of examination is offline, in which the examination is conducted with paper pen, in which the total number of questions is 180, which is divided equally into four subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany). For a correct answer to a question, you get four marks, whereas, for the wrong answers to a question, one mark is reduced.
NEET 2024 seats
there are a total of 681 MBBS colleges in India offering 1,04,333 seats for MBBS students. Out of 1,04,333 MBBS seats, 54,278 are government seats and 50,315 are MBBS seats in private colleges.. There is 15 Percent All India quota while the rest 85% is state’s quota.
Tips for NEET Examination
12th exams are over and now the competitive examinations and their preparations have begun. One such examination is the PMT (Pre Medical Test) in which many children participate with the dream in their eyes of becoming a doctor so that they can get medical education from a good college.
Preparing for NEET exam is really a big challenge for new students. At the time of the Revision, they have to understand the whole course and pattern. But if they make a little effort then their success is also certain. All students can do well by adopting some easy tips outlined below.
– The more mock test you can give, the faster your speed will increase and your confidence will also increase.
– Fully understand the new student exam pattern.
– Regenerate your notes.
– Note the important things taught by the teacher during the Crash Course.
– Regulate all special formulas and concepts; make sure that you are well-cleared. Ask your teacher without hesitation if you do not understand anything. – Solve the sample paper.
– Focus only on alternative questions 15-20 days before the paper.
-Make a timetable of your own and study accordingly.
– Pay attention to all topics.
Do not get numeric by heart, practice them repeatedly.
– Clear your concept before solving alternative questions.
– Repeat whatever you read carefully till you understand clearly.
– Take enough sleep for 6-8 hours on the night before the examination, so that you will not be upset when doing papers.
– Do not miss breakfast, many students go to the Examination Center without eating anything.
– Collect all the essential items that take the exam in advance one day.
– Do not resolve any new topics just before the exam.
– Take a look at your centre a day before the exam so that the time is not wasted at finding the centre on the exam.
– Arrive at the Exam Center at least half an hour earlier check your allocated seat carefully.
– Start reading the paper after reading all the instructions.
– Do not spend too much time in solving the same question, set a fixed time for all questions; if it takes more time, leave the question.
– Stay relaxed during the exams; do not take any tension of anything.
