WHAT IS TEXTIL DESIGNING ?

Textile designing, one of the most rewarding and probably the second most job oriented course in India is the art of processing and designing of different looks and structures of different textiles or fabrics which may be made from a single type or a blend of two or more. Thease may be made up of natural or synthetic fibres or both although they may seem quite similar to the untrained eye.

WHAT COURSES ARE AVAILABLE ?
In textile designing field all three types of courses viz, Certificate, Diploma (Both one year and three year), and graduation courses are available. Many polytechnic offers three year diploma courses after 10th. Three-year batchlor courses and four year B. Tech course after 12th is available. A career in textile designing is right for those who  are talented and exude style in everything.The  textile designer creates the structure and design of different types of textiles which may be used to create garments, accessories, bedding, furniture, window treatments, and a variety of other common everyday items  He   must also possess the ability to be creative and must have godd knowledge of. combining colours, shades and textures and can visualise new design, patters etc.Textile Designer must have the idea of the fundamental aspects of design including sketching, drawing and design development and most important he should enjoy these qualities.  Those with creative ingenuity and technical skills can hope for a wide gamut of job opportunities in this innovative industry.

A textile designer can get jobs in textile companies, garment manufacturing companies,  textile and garment marketing companies, fashion designing agencies,  and the garment retail world. Textile Industry has been one of the tradition of Indian culture and it is probably the second most successful industry in India providing huge employment to both skilled and unskilled workers.  Joining at different  capacities is based on experience and educationwhich may be from a production side trainee to the departmentl head. There are also other marketing, sales related job prospects.        They can also be hired by a professional textile designer. Export houses also employ a number of textile designers.  Other pportunities are in handloom, khadi,silk,   jute, and craft development organizations. Reliance, NJM Corporation Texperts,Garware, JCI Limited Welspun,ATE, Arvind,CCI Limited Raymonds are some of the name to recon which provide jobs to textile designer. With some experience, textile designers can work as freelancers and sell their designs, ideas and consultation to different companies.

WHAT IS THE EARNING ?

Textile designing is a highly remunerative career option. Fresh graduates from textile design schools can earn Rs. 200,000 to Rs. 3,00,000 per annum which after gaining experience of four to five years in a company of repute it may go upto 5-6 lacs per annum. Freelance textile designers also earn very good amount which basically depends on their expertise and knowledge and the assignment they get from their client companies. In nutshell as a creative and inventive career option, textile designing offers all  glamour, money, and popularity.
