Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT) at Amity University's Noida campus runs all admissions through the university's centralised online portal (amity.edu). Every programme requires an online application, a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1,500, and a selection stage before a seat is offered. The entire process is managed through an Admission Microsite that candidates access with the Form Number and password generated at registration.
A structurally important choice is made at the time of application: every programme is offered under two fee-and-merit categories. The Non-Sponsored (NS) category applies standard eligibility thresholds and the regular tuition fee. The Sponsored (S) category accepts somewhat lower merit but carries a higher differential fee. Both categories follow the same curriculum, lead to the same degree, and have equal access to placement activities; the category does not appear on the degree certificate. Critically, a request to change category must be submitted before the candidate appears for the selection process. Post-selection changes require Admission Committee approval and are not guaranteed.
ASFT's undergraduate portfolio at Noida includes B.Des in Fashion Design, Fashion Technology, and related design specialisations, each running four years.
For most B.Des applicants the selection sequence is:
Candidates with 80% or above in Class 12 may be considered for direct admission, bypassing the Creative Test requirement, as stated in Amity's published guidelines. This route is subject to seat availability and the university's current-cycle rules, which should be confirmed on the portal at the time of application.
The Creative Test and PI may be conducted online or offline; the mode for any given slot is indicated within the Admission Microsite dashboard.
Eligibility: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a closely related discipline with a minimum 50% aggregate from a recognised university. Final-year graduation students may apply provisionally.
Selection: Personal Interview, with portfolio review as an integral component. Amity also accepts CUET PG 2026 scores in the Design subject (Subject Code: COQP11) as part of the selection basis for this programme. Candidates who have sat for CUET PG should present their scorecard at the interview stage.
Eligibility: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum 50% aggregate.
Selection: Score from a recognised national management entrance examination (CAT, MAT, GMAT, XAT, NMAT, or CMAT) followed by a Group Discussion (GD), Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI) on campus or online as scheduled.
Amity University conducts admissions across multiple rounds. Round 1 for many programmes closed around 31 March 2026 based on aggregator sources. As of August 2026, admissions are indicated as ongoing, with remaining seats offered through later rounds. A candidate applying at this stage should log in to the portal to confirm whether seats remain in their chosen programme and category before investing in application preparation.
Programme-specific seat intake figures for ASFT Noida were not accessible in publicly available documents during this research pass. Checking the university's mandatory disclosure page is advisable for a confirmed seat count.
The Non-Sponsored versus Sponsored choice has a material fee consequence across the full programme duration. Candidates who meet the 50% aggregate threshold and are comfortable with the creative selection process should apply under Non-Sponsored. Those whose Class 12 aggregate falls below the threshold can consider Sponsored at a higher annual fee.
Changing category after appearing for the selection process is not available as a self-service action; only the Admission Committee can move a candidate from one category to the other based on selection performance. Choosing a category on the expectation of switching later is unreliable.
For B.Des and M.Des programmes, the creative portfolio matters materially at the Personal Interview stage. Candidates should prepare sketches, design concepts, or textile work in A4 format before their PI slot is scheduled, even if portfolio submission is not a separate scored component at the application stage.
