Use the 2026 syllabus as a dated outline, not a 2027–28 promise
As of 27 October 2026, the official CEE prospectus opened for this guide publishes a syllabus for the 2026 entrance examinations. I found no 2027–28 syllabus or amendment in the official material checked. Do not assume that every topic, subject combination, or scope will remain unchanged. When the new prospectus appears, compare its syllabus annexure with the 2026 document and follow any later CEE notice.
The 2026 prospectus ties the subject outline to the entrance examination and states that the standard is Higher Secondary or equivalent. It also cautions that the published syllabus is an outline and that applied, higher-order questions on included topics can be expected; it says questions are not based exclusively on NCERT or another textbook. For planning, use the official list as the boundary of stated coverage, then practise applying concepts rather than treating the list as a set of memorised definitions.
Engineering candidates: organize the three-subject map
The 2026 Engineering test covered Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The prospectus’s Mathematics annexure ranges across five broad units: Algebra; Trigonometry; Geometry; Statistics; and Calculus. Topics include sets and functions, complex numbers, sequences, permutations and combinations, matrices, trigonometric functions, coordinate geometry and conics, vectors and three-dimensional geometry, probability and statistics, limits, continuity, differentiation, integration, differential equations, and linear programming. This grouping is useful for mapping your school course to the official outline. The annexure, rather than this summary, controls the exact subtopic boundary.
The Physics annexure begins with Units and Measurement and Kinematics, then includes mechanics and energy, gravitation, properties of matter, heat and thermodynamics, gases, oscillations and waves, electrostatics, and current electricity, among other listed areas. CEE’s syllabus annexure continues through the remaining Physics units and Chemistry topics. Use the linked prospectus PDF and review the full subject lists; this guide intentionally summarizes themes instead of reproducing a long syllabus table that may change in the next edition.
Chemistry is part of the Engineering paper, but the 2026 prospectus’s complete topic list should be checked directly before assigning revision time to individual chapters. Do not infer “important chapters” or likely question counts from a coaching chart: the official material opened does not provide a reliable 2027–28 topic-weightage forecast. A practical crosswalk is to list the topics from the current official annexure, mark where they appear in your board course, and then note which concepts need application practice.
Pharmacy applicants should check the course-specific paper
The 2026 KEAM prospectus lists the Kerala Pharmacy Entrance Examination separately from Engineering. Its paper used Physics and Chemistry, not the Engineering Mathematics-Physics-Chemistry mix. The syllabus annexure is the official source for the subject scope, but the exact 2027–28 subject list and question distribution remain unannounced in the sources checked. If your plan includes B.Pharm as well as engineering, prepare from the applicable current syllabus for both routes rather than assuming one paper’s topic structure applies to the other.
Architecture applicants should not use this exam syllabus as a proxy for NATA. The prospectus directs candidates to the Council of Architecture’s NATA material. Candidates seeking medical or medical-allied courses should check NEET-UG’s current syllabus and the related CEE admission rules. The KEAM application includes multiple course groups, but the external examination authorities publish their own syllabi and schedules.
A study workflow tied to the official document
- Download the 2027–28 prospectus when CEE publishes it. Confirm the subject list and note any amendment; keep the 2026 version labelled as historical.
- Make a topic checklist directly from the relevant annexure. Keep Engineering, Pharmacy, NATA, and NEET-UG lists separate where your chosen courses require different examinations.
- Map each official topic to the material you have studied, then practise questions that require applying the listed concepts. The 2026 prospectus explicitly warned that questions can be applied and higher-order rather than a copy of textbook examples.
- Use the official paper pattern for that cycle to schedule practice. The 2026 Engineering and Pharmacy tests differed in subject count and duration, so do not reuse a single timetable for both.
- Revisit CEE notices before the exam. If the syllabus is amended, record the notice date and update your checklist from the new official document.
The value of the 2026 outline is that it gives a concrete starting map. Its limits are equally important: it does not establish the next cycle’s syllabus, relative chapter weight, exam calendar, or guaranteed question style. Use CEE’s current prospectus as the final reference and treat unofficial weightage predictions as estimates, not rules.
