“Accepts KEAM” means a course and seat appear in the relevant CEE allotment
There is no single permanent list of colleges that “accept KEAM” for every course. The useful question is whether the exact college, campus, programme, and seat type appears in the official Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) options for the course and cycle you qualify for. CEE’s 2026 prospectus covered Engineering, Architecture, B.Pharm, Medical and Medical Allied courses, and several agriculture, forestry, veterinary, fisheries, and related programmes. The examination and rank basis differed by stream; for example, the 2026 prospectus tied medical and many allied courses to NEET-UG, Architecture to NATA, and B.Pharm admission to the Kerala Pharmacy Entrance Examination, while Engineering used the KEAM Engineering test. “Through KEAM” therefore does not mean every applicant takes the same paper or can choose every listed institution.
The 2026 prospectus says CAP seats included government, aided, university, government cost-sharing, private self-financing, and some autonomous colleges, subject to the relevant rules and Government orders. It also lists courses at Kerala Agricultural University, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, and Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies. Those categories are a 2026 description, not a promise that every institution, course, seat, or fee will recur in 2027–28.
Treat the final CAP option list as the authoritative college finder
A prospectus may contain annexures showing institutions and courses, but CEE warned that some 2026 lists were tentative and incomplete; it said the final list would be published before CAP began. This matters when a college opens a course, changes its intake, or a seat is added by a later order. Use the current CEE prospectus to understand eligibility and the course stream, then use the active candidate portal and final option-registration list to decide whether a specific college-course combination can actually be selected.
Check the course, campus, and seat label together. A college name alone is not enough: one campus may offer several programmes, and the same institution may have different government, management, community, minority, NRI, or other seat categories depending on the course and current rules. The 2026 CEE category-list page separated mandatory-reservation, special-reservation, minority, sports/NCC, PwD, NRI, community or trust lists by stream. Those lists are eligibility or merit lists, not proof that every candidate can register every corresponding seat. Read the 2027–28 prospectus and the relevant seat notification before relying on a category or quota.
A practical check is to search the official option list by both institution and programme, confirm the stream, and record the exact option name. If you cannot find the combination, do not assume an equivalent course or another campus is covered. Ask CEE through its published contact route or wait for an official correction; a third-party directory can help discover a name but cannot add an option to CAP.
Use allotment and last-rank tables to confirm actual participation
CEE publishes allotment lists separately by course stream and phase. The 2026 allotment index showed separate documents for Engineering, Architecture, B.Pharm, MBBS/BDS, and Medical (AYUSH/Allied), with some streams receiving multiple phases or vacancy-filling rounds. Its last-rank index likewise separated Engineering, Architecture, B.Pharm, MBBS/BDS, and Medical (AYUSH/Allied) results. These official lists are useful cross-checks that an institution-course combination appeared in that year’s process, but they are not a complete current directory and should not replace the current option list.
For example, the 2026 Engineering Phase 2 last-rank document included Government Engineering College, Kozhikode for Applied Electronics & Instrumentation. That confirms a particular branch-college combination in a dated 2026 allotment table; it does not say that every branch at that campus, or that college’s 2027–28 availability, is the same. Check each course separately, and distinguish a trial or provisional list from a final allotment.
Before comparing institutions, verify that you are reading the correct rank stream. A KEAM Engineering rank cannot be used as a substitute for a NEET-based medical rank or an Architecture rank. Confirm that your course appears in the relevant rank list, then compare the exact college and programme in the allotment and last-rank document. Category or quota columns also need their own official definitions and eligibility proof.
Shortlist by fit, not by an unverified “KEAM college” label
For each eligible option, compare the programme you intend to study, campus location, current fee order, seat category, and any course-specific approval or eligibility conditions. A self-financing institution may have a different fee order or seat structure from a government college. Do not use a generic college fee or a historical fee without checking the current CEE or Government order for that course and seat. Likewise, an institution’s general reputation does not tell you whether the specific programme is included in CAP this year.
Make a preference list only from combinations you would accept. CAP 2026 rules said a candidate would not be allotted a college-course combination absent from the registered options. CEE also specified that option priority affects allotment and that later phases can require confirmation of higher-order options. Check the counselling instructions for the current cycle before submitting, and save the exact option list and confirmation record.
If a college is not in CAP, it may still have a separate admission route or seat category; do not treat that as a CEE allotment. Verify any separate process directly with the college and the competent authority, especially for management or community seats. Do not pay an intermediary who claims to secure an option or seat outside the published rules.
What can be confirmed for 2027–28
As of 27 October 2026, the official CEE material reviewed here describes KEAM 2026 and its still-active course-specific allotment notices. It does not establish a final 2027–28 institution list, course intake, seat matrix, quota structure, fee order, or CAP option list. Those details should be treated as pending until CEE publishes the next prospectus, final institution/course lists, and current notifications.
When the new cycle opens, start from the CEE home page rather than an old portal bookmark. Confirm the application and rank stream for your course, then search the live CAP options for the exact campus and programme. Recheck after CEE publishes any additions or revised seat matrix. Keep the source year beside a saved list: a college appearing in the 2026 CAP proves only its participation in that cycle and course, not guaranteed availability in 2027–28.
