XAT 2027 registration opened on 15 July 2026 and is scheduled to close on 6 December 2026. Apply through the official XAT registration page, which also lists the exam for 3 January 2027 from 2 pm to 5 pm. The official home page has a separate mock-test cutoff: candidates must register by 28 October 2026 to become eligible for the final official mock scheduled on 31 October and 1 November. That mock cutoff is earlier than the main application deadline and applies to mock access, not the published exam-registration close.
Before you begin
Use an email address and mobile number you can access throughout the admission process. The XAT 2027 home page warns that these contact details cannot be changed after registration. Keep your name and parent details consistent with certificates, marksheets and identity proof. The registration instructions warn that details may not be changed after final submission and payment, so review the form carefully before completing the transaction.
Keep a recent photograph and your signature image ready in the format requested in the current application instructions. The current registration page says to upload both and preview the full application before final submission. The 2026 bulletin gives detailed image specifications, but those are historical. Use the live 2027 form’s upload guidance if it differs; do not assume the 2026 file-size or pixel requirements still apply.
Complete the form in a deliberate order
- Register on the official site, verify your email and keep the login credentials and XAT ID accessible.
- Enter personal details exactly as they appear on your official documents. The site specifically cautions that spelling mismatches can affect candidature.
- Fill in academic and work-experience information. If you are a final-year student, the official FAQ says to enter aggregate marks through the latest semester or year completed at application time.
- Select any XLRI programme you want to apply for. The XAT page says candidates interested in XLRI programmes pay an additional amount for each selected programme.
- Choose up to six preferred test cities. The registration page says the authority makes the final city allotment, so a preference is not a guaranteed centre.
- Upload the required photograph and signature, use the preview screen to check the complete form, then submit and pay.
- Save or print the application and payment receipt and retain your login access for later updates.
The official page offers a “Save and Next” option for applicants who cannot complete the form in one sitting. It also cautions that after final submission, changes are not ordinarily available. The FAQ says submitted details may be changed only when absolutely necessary and directs candidates to raise a query through the dashboard. Do not treat the old 16-17 October edit window as currently open: the homepage announced it for that past period.
Fees and payment
The XAT 2027 registration page lists a fee of ₹2,300. Applicants selecting XLRI programmes are asked to pay an additional ₹200 for each programme. These amounts are published for the 2027 registration cycle. The page separately lists fees for GMAT/GRE routes and international applicant categories; those categories have different application routes and should not be mixed into the standard domestic XAT fee. Check the live fee table if you fall into one of those groups or are applying through an alternative score.
The registration page lists card, internet banking, IMPS and wallet payment options. It advises applicants to wait for server confirmation after submitting payment information and not to press Back or Refresh, to avoid a duplicate payment. A generated e-receipt is the confirmation described by the page; if it does not appear, the page advises logging in and checking or repeating the payment process. Verify account status before paying a second time, and raise a dashboard query if the transaction remains unclear.
The 2026 bulletin lists a ₹2,200 base fee and a ₹200 additional amount per XLRI programme. That is prior-cycle pricing, not a contradiction of the 2027 page’s ₹2,300 fee. Fees changed between cycles, which is why old screenshots and guides can mislead. The current-cycle official registration page should be used for the amount payable now.
Deadline and next steps
As of 27 October 2026, registration remains open on the official published schedule, but the earlier 28 October cutoff matters if you want access to the final official mock. The 6 December close is the scheduled deadline for XAT registration. Complete the application early enough to resolve email verification, document-upload or payment issues. After submission, check the dashboard and email for confirmation, then return to the official site for admit-card instructions. The currently listed card date is 20 December 2026 and marked tentative; do not confuse it with a confirmed release.
A practical way to prevent a payment problem from becoming a deadline problem is to finish the form before the final day, then confirm that the dashboard shows a submitted application and that the receipt is available. The official FAQ says a printout can be generated from the dashboard and recommends keeping soft and hard copies. Store the XAT ID with the receipt so you can identify the transaction if you need to raise a query.
