The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2019 has been announced. President Ram Nath Kovind has announced NIRF for Indian educational institutions at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Monday. These rankings are done in many categories, including overall top institute, top engineering institute, top university.
IIT Madras is on top in the overall category and IISc Bangalore has been topped in the university category.
In the fourth year of ranking, NIRF 2019 has been released in 9 categories – Overall Institute, College of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Architecture, and Law.
This year more than 4000 institutions had submitted their data for the NIRF ranking. The Ministry of Human Resource Development announced the first NIRF rank in 2016. In 2018, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore was ranked as the top institute in the NIRF overall category.
