COMEDK’s official 2026 engineering syllabus consists of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with the published subject PDFs divided into Class 11 and Class 12 material. The official overview describes the test syllabus as based on CBSE and gives an approximate 33% share for Class 11 and 67% for Class 12. That proportion is a broad cycle-specific guide; it is not a chapter-wise weightage table or a promise that the next paper will follow the same mix. The 2027-28 syllabus had not been published in the official pages reviewed by 27 October 2026. Use the current-cycle PDFs when the next notice appears.
Start from the official documents
COMEDK links a separate Physics syllabus PDF, Chemistry syllabus PDF and Mathematics syllabus PDF from its UGET notice page. Keep the PDFs beside your own school or coaching checklist. For each unit, mark whether you have studied the concept, can solve standard problems without notes and can complete mixed questions under time pressure. This gives you a source-based revision map without assuming a predicted chapter distribution.
The Physics list begins with measurement and mechanics, including units, kinematics, laws of motion, work and energy, rotational motion, gravitation and properties of matter. It continues through thermodynamics, kinetic theory, oscillations and waves. Class 12 topics include electrostatics, current electricity, magnetic effects, electromagnetic induction and alternating current, electromagnetic waves, optics, dual nature, atoms and nuclei, and electronic devices. The official PDF distinguishes some treatments as qualitative or formula-only, so read those notes rather than broadening a topic into every derivation found in a textbook.
Chemistry includes foundational quantitative and structural work such as mole concept, atomic structure, periodicity, chemical bonding and thermodynamics, followed by equilibrium, redox, organic principles and hydrocarbons in the Class 11 material. The Class 12 PDF lists solutions, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, d- and f-block elements, coordination compounds, haloalkanes and haloarenes, alcohols, phenols and ethers, carbonyl compounds, amines and biomolecules. Use the wording and exclusions in COMEDK’s document to set boundaries. The syllabus PDF is the scope checklist; it does not tell you how many questions will come from each chapter.
Mathematics spans sets and functions, trigonometry, complex numbers, inequalities, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem, sequences and series, coordinate geometry, limits and derivatives, statistics and probability. The Class 12 topics continue with relations and functions, inverse trigonometric functions, matrices, calculus and additional algebra, geometry and probability content in the official list. The actual unit names and included subtopics matter more than a short coaching summary. For example, a heading such as “calculus” is too broad to use as a revision task; break it down using the listed limits, derivatives and other exact entries in the PDF.
How to turn the syllabus into a study plan
First, compare the COMEDK PDF with the material you have already completed. Record omissions, not just weak areas: a chapter you have never opened is different from one where you lose marks because of speed. Next, group topics by prerequisite. In Physics, mechanics concepts support several later problem types; in Mathematics, algebraic fluency affects calculus and coordinate questions; in Chemistry, quantitative fundamentals and bonding recur in later units. These are learning connections, not official question-weight claims. Use them to decide an efficient study order, then practise questions from the syllabus itself.
The 2026 exam had 60 questions in each of the three subjects, one mark per correct answer and no negative marking. This supports balanced preparation across Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics: all three contributed an equal number of items in that cycle. It does not establish equal chapter weight within a subject. A useful review sheet can track coverage and timed accuracy separately for each subject, then guide practice toward gaps that actually appear in your own work.
COMEDK offered an online mock test to candidates with successful application payment, but explicitly warned that the mock did not reflect the actual test pattern or syllabus. Use it to become comfortable with the computer interface and to practise navigating questions. Do not use it as a substitute for the PDFs or as evidence that an absent topic will not be tested. The official syllabus is the appropriate basis for coverage; the mock has a narrower interface-familiarisation purpose.
What is not published
The official 2026 syllabus materials do not provide an exhaustive chapter-wise question count, a guaranteed difficulty distribution or a forecast of which units will dominate the next exam. COMEDK’s approximate Class 11-Class 12 percentages should not be converted into a fixed number of questions because the exam pattern provides equal subject totals, not a per-chapter quota. No 2027 topic additions or deletions can be stated until the next official syllabus is released.
When COMEDK publishes the next brochure and PDFs, compare the new material against the 2026 list line by line. Do not assume that a prior-year omission, weightage estimate or textbook chapter boundary is an official change. Until then, the most dependable approach is to complete the documented 2026 topics as historical preparation context, monitor the official page for the new cycle and revise from any updated PDF once it becomes available.
