COMEDK UGET is used for engineering admission at participating member institutions, with seat allocation through COMEDK’s centralised counselling process. The official member-institutions directory lists engineering colleges, codes and locations, but COMEDK states that the information is supplied by the institutions and that the list can change. Membership alone does not confirm that a particular branch has a seat in every admission cycle. For an actual application, check the current counselling seat matrix and course-specific availability.
Use the directory and seat matrix together
Start with COMEDK’s member institutions directory to identify the institution’s official name, college code and location. The directory separates engineering, architecture, medical and dental institutions. That separation matters: an institution name on the page does not mean all of its programmes use COMEDK UGET engineering. Medical and dental admissions follow NEET; architecture has a separate eligibility and counselling route. Confirm that the institution appears under the engineering list for the route you intend to use.
Then open the active year’s engineering seat matrix, fee document and counselling notices. These show whether the institution offers the branch in that cycle, relevant seat categories, number and status of seats, and applicable fee information. A college may appear in the member directory but not offer your preferred course or category in a particular round. The matrix is the operational source for preference filling; the directory is an institution reference list, not an allotment commitment.
COMEDK’s 2026 UGET page described around 150 participating engineering colleges and approximately 20,000 seats. Those are approximate organisation-level figures for that year, not a guaranteed count for 2027. The live official directory also changes as institution information is received. Do not rely on an old list downloaded or copied elsewhere when preparing a future preference form.
Build a realistic college and branch shortlist
For each option, write down the college code, campus, course name or branch code, location, seat category and round document you used. This helps avoid mixing similarly named institutions, multiple campuses or branches with different cutoffs. Compare the current fee sheet as well as the past closing rank. Tuition, hostel, transport and other charges can differ by institution and fee policy; the COMEDK seat matrix is useful for notified seat-related fees, while candidates should confirm additional institutional costs directly with the college.
Review course fit before ordering preferences. Read the programme description and curriculum from the institution, check the location and travel needs, and consider whether you would accept that branch if allotted. A preference list should reflect genuine order of choice, not a guessed strategy based on where a cutoff might close. COMEDK uses the submitted college-course choices in online allotment, subject to rank, seat availability and applicable rules. Putting a course higher simply because it appears competitive does not improve the evidence available about your own eligibility or fit.
Past cutoff documents can help contextualise a choice, but the comparison must match branch, institution code, category or quota, round and allotment stage. COMEDK’s 2026 page links distinct engineering cutoff files by round. Do not use a Round 4 closing rank as though it were the Round 1 boundary or transfer one branch’s rank to another branch at the same college. Historical ranks are outcomes under a previous seat matrix, not guarantees for the next one.
College list versus a confirmed seat
A directory entry, an application to COMEDK, and a rank card are each different from an allotment. To obtain a seat through the 2026 process, candidates had to register for counselling, upload documents, receive document approval, fill choices and complete the required allotment decision and payment steps. A candidate with an eligible score could still fail to receive a preferred course if there were no matching seats at the rank and category. An open seat in a late round does not guarantee it will be allotted to a candidate who did not meet process conditions.
COMEDK’s directory explicitly says candidates may contact member institutions for additional information. Before accepting an allotment, verify the campus, branch, reporting instructions and fee schedule with both the official counselling notice and the institution. Check whether the course code and programme name match your preference and whether any conditions apply to joining. Keep the allotment letter and payment receipt, and meet the reporting deadline.
What is available for the next cycle?
As of 27 October 2026, the official pages reviewed show the completed 2026-27 engineering process, not a confirmed 2027-28 list of colleges, branches or seats. The next directory may change, and the active seat matrix is not known until COMEDK publishes it. Use the 2026 directory only for early exploration. When the new process opens, rebuild the shortlist from the current member directory, seat matrix, fee documents and round schedule, then confirm details with the institution before making a final decision.
